4921  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptos success will probably lead to a global financial system reset on: May 24, 2017, 07:46:48 AM
I've been gaming it out and I see no way for it to coexist as it is a direct adversary to the global central banking system we exist in. Crypto eventually causes a global run on the banks once we reach a tipping point where average people start demanding crypto over fiat. This triggers a derivatives explosion (1.3 quadrillion dollar market) the global financial system implodes and all fiat debts are erased. What is left is complete chaos all public services go unfunded, pensions evaporate, companies go under due to their fiat assets evaporating. A new order arises but who the fuck knows that that will look like, world war 3 style military actions begin.

I do see government intervention before it goes that far and it will be the draconian kind. They cannot coexist since crypto cannot be centrally controlled , regulated or tracked due to cross chain interactions which are undetectable. I only see one path for them and that is waging war on crypto public chains. Long jail time for hosting or participating, extradition and global cooperation since not cooperating might as well be a declaration of war.

I believe that this reset that you are talking about is going to come soon.

Fiat currency is simply not a sustainable way of managing an economy. In fact if you look at the history of money one single fiat currency has never survived for more than 100-150 years. And I beileve that we are heading to there right now.

The problem with fiat is that the government can take out loans from the central bank, which is basically a part of the government. They do this to print new money but makes it sound legit and all. Bitcoin isn't based on debt, it's based on assets. That's what i think makes bitcoin special to be honest. I believe bitcoin t obe a great long term investment, something to hold if you want to save up for the future.
4922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold? on: May 24, 2017, 07:34:10 AM
So Bitcoin is better than Gold? Roll Eyes

There are many aspects to cover here.

I think that bitcoin is like the digital gold right now. It's too expensive to be moving around little amounts of bitcoin - much like gold, you can't really move 0.01 grams of gold efficiently. Same with bitcoin, fees have gotten way too high and obviously that's going to be a part of any decentralised economy's scalability issue. Hopefully bitcoin can go through this storm with grace.

But transmitting bitcoins over the globe is still a lot cheaper than gold. Bitcoin also have the store of value of gold because it's a disinflationary currency. Bitcoin is also a lot more divisible than gold.

I'd say bitcoin is better than gold, it's just my opinion though but the reasoning is listed above.
4923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Perceptions about Bitcoin on: May 24, 2017, 07:24:02 AM
So a couple of days ago, in a bloggers group on facebook; a guy asked what is bitcoin? And I was quite amazed to see that many people start commenting and saying stay away for bitcoin, its black currency, under world currency, or dark web currency and stuff like that.
Obviously the people who were saying this didn't know about bitcoin and have probably heard the same from someone else, but this is the perception of many around us.
What can be done to change this? Make BTC more user friendly? More appealing to general public?

There are certainly a lot of misconceptions of bitcoin out there.

My parents still think that bitcoin is some sort of currency that is issued by someone that is a drug dealer that doesn't want to reveal himself in the world and all there is to bitcoin is buynig drugs, prostitutes, hitmen etc.

But I'd say that 90%+ of the economic activity going on the bitcoin network is totally legitimate.

We need more awareness of bitcoin, we need the public to actually have the heart to see what bitcoin is really about - to see someone refer to bitcoin as black money is just really disappointing.
4924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Largest Czech online retailer accepts Bitcoin on: May 24, 2017, 07:12:28 AM
Largest Czech online retailer Alza has started accepting bitcoin. It is the second largest online retailer next to Russia's largest online retailer Ulmart to accept bitcoin. It has also installed bitcoin ATMs in two of its showrooms. It seems that most of the business organizations have realized that they could not avoid bitcoin payments any more.

Wow that's amazing. And awesome news for bitcoin - new merchants accepting bitcoin will always generate positive media coverage for bitcoin and increase the usage of bitcoin outside of pure speculation and potentially making the price of bitcoin more stable as well.

Another win for the crypto industry. I think this is really a positive news for bitcoin specially in Czech Republic. They can easily purchase product online and used bitcoin as mode of payment. For sure, they will definitely get a lot of customers because neighboring Russia is also planning to embrace if not regulate bitcoin used as well.

Agreed. If bitcoin was used for purely speculation purposes then there isn't really a reason for anyone else outside of the day traders and speculators to be using bitcoin. But now more and more retailers are accepting bitcoin the trend is changing.

However it's taking a lot to spend a single transaction now, hopefully transaction fees can go down some time soon. Otherwise real life retailers will never be able to accept bitcoin because of confirmation times.
4925  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a new World Central Bank on: May 24, 2017, 06:49:49 AM
While people invest in alts and tokens, many treats BTC as 'stable' investment. For example, many ICOs make ESCROW in 40% BTC and then other coins.

Do you think BTC unwittingly took the role of the central bank in relation to other coins (detail, consumer 'banks')?

I think that you've got the whole idea of bitcoin wrong.

Bitcoin in ICOs are simply a way for ICOs to gain their initial funding - nothing else. Bitcoin itself cannot print more money to cover for these ICOs nor can ICOs take out loans from the bitcoin infrustructure. bitcoin is the currency here, not a bank.

The fact that ICOs are using bitcoin means that they are acknowledging bitcoin as the first and most trustworthy cryptocurrency to hold - even though they have their own competing projects going on.
4926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: May 24, 2017, 06:38:22 AM
https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.

I think that criminals won't just start being criminals because bitcoin came along, i strongly don't think that's the case. Criminals will be criminals whatever currency they use, not just because bitcoin is out.

Criminals have criminal wills at heart - and they'll go act that out no matter what currency is available not just btc.

However i have to say that drug sales have probably increased due to bitcoin and monero, however maybe that's just because more states are legalising drugs recreationally, or maybe it's because of btc.
4927  Economy / Digital goods / WTS monero backup mnemonics on: May 24, 2017, 06:31:12 AM
I'd like to sell a monero mnemonic that you can import into your wallet(although i don't know how to use it thus the reason why i'm selling it).

It contains 0.4+ XMR in its balance.

At current monero prices i would be happy to sell it for 0.006 BTC. Market price is more than 0.0085 i believe so a great way to get your hands on some cheap XMR(even though it might not be much).

I'll send first if you are trusted but otherwise we use escrow and you pay the fees.

Thanks
4928  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for alpha testers for a new bitcoin mixer on: May 24, 2017, 06:07:27 AM
I have sent you my review, hopefully chipmixer is able to get something out of my review Smiley

Now i'm waiting for the payment but seems like everyone else is paid on time so i'm not worried about that at all. Website looks great and i think that it could potentially be the next big bitcoin mixer in the coming months!

Good luck with your project dev!
4929  Other / Archival / Re: .15btc loan needed on: May 24, 2017, 05:54:35 AM
Repayment date: June 20, 2017
Amount to be repayed: .155BTC
Collateral: 130 Stratis to be held by an escrow or by someone with good rep

- incase the value of the collateral drops. Please contact me.

I could potentially do this if you are able to fix the value of the loan in USD and offer a better interest rate. 0.005 BTC over a month isn't worth it at all and bitcoin price could crash anyday to be honest.

Stratis should be a stable coin to hold compared to say other shitcoins. It's in the top 20 altcoins right now so should be fine.

As for escrow who would you like to use? Will you cover the fees or am i going to cover the fees?
4930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending small amounts of bitcoin on: May 22, 2017, 09:59:46 AM
Hi,

So my friend got hit by the ransomware and had to pay but after there were some unexpected commissions we are short by less than a dollar, is there anyway to send an equivalent bitcoin amount easily and cheaply? Everywhere I've seen needs a minimum of $30-60 and then a load of fees.

Excuse me if I'm being stupid but this is my first experience with bitcoin and I doubt I will use it again so dont want to buy loads of extra bitcoins

Thanks

First of all don't even bother paying the ransom. There are indeed tools out there that can potentially help you.

If not paying the ransom probably won't help because they don't tell you to send any sort of message from your bitcoin address to verify that it is really you paying the ransom. This means that you can claim to have paid the amount, when you really haven't and claim that you paid the ransom when someone else paid, and others will be able to do the same for you.

Think about it, if they really want to unlock your computer they will at least want to identify you. And the process is manual, it requires an operator apparently. Just wait a few months, there will probably be more help available then.
4931  Economy / Lending / Re: Need quick loan on: May 22, 2017, 09:46:39 AM
You've been trying to take out loans of decreasing amounts over and over and over again that it seems obvious that you are trying to sell your account for this amount. Tell me what can you even do with $9 huh? There is like nothing you can do with it, what sort of urgent situation are you attending to precisely?

Look at your post history: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=918137;sa=showPosts;start=0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=918137;sa=showPosts;start=0

Basically the two pages are filled with loan requests... And you expect anyone to trust you?
4932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day everyone ! on: May 22, 2017, 09:25:45 AM
Seven years ago, on May 22nd 2010, 2 pizzas were bought for 10'000 bitcoins, say USD 21 millions as of today.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-pizza-day-celebrating-pizza-bought-10000-btc/

After a terrific roll, I wouldn't be surprised if it trades at 20'000$ in 7 years!

Happy bitcoin pizza day!

I'm using mobi wallet at the moment and they've sent me a notification regarding bitcoin pizza day - thats how i know today is the day, otherwise i would have certainly forgot Cheesy

The pizza is now worth $23 million dollars.... If remember correctly he bought 2 pizzas from papa johns so thats $11.5 million each. Nobody really knows what happened to the coins afterwards, hopefully the seller held the bitcoins because he deserved to be rewarded as the first known transaction for a tangible item in bitcoin history Cheesy
4933  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTC-e Support Scamming Customers (Another one) on: May 20, 2017, 04:37:44 AM
Well the only way that you're going to reach them is by their support mail system. As far as i know they don't have any phone or physical mailing address.

If you don't receive anything back from them then you're basically screwed.

There are a lot more of these complaints on bitcointalk if you look through the scam accusation section. Almost 1/4 of all the reports on the first page is regarding BTC-e support not responding or scamming.

Hopefully they can do a better job and respond but it does seem unlikely at this point.

Good luck
4934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 20, 2017, 03:19:35 AM
And my latest transaction: $27,780 USD.
Transaction Fee: $8.62

first of all that's a nice chunk of coinage, i wish i could have that much tbh :|

In your case paying a 0.03% fee on your transaction if i'm correct with my calculations on a $28k transaction, having the security and peace of mind knowing that your account won't get frozen or anything of that sort is still a great deal.

However if you just sent $10 and the transaction size is the same size as your transaction and paid a $8 fee, that would be a 80%+ fee...

Personally I actually damn wish that bitcoin transaction fees are going down. I now have to pay fees on the Xapo web wallet and coinbase which used to be free. The bitcoin price is high + high transaction fee just doesn't work...
4935  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paypal Charge Back From BTC Sale to Coinman1 (working for a refund) on: May 20, 2017, 01:58:32 AM
no news

Hopefully he pays you back in full.

Seems like though that he has been running a fractional reserve currency exchange to be honest. His lack of liquidity seems to tell the story no matter what excuses he has every single time. Also he seems to not be using his own personal paypal account but rather stealth accounts that he have bought(I have no proof but in my opinion this is the case) causing problems on the paypal end.

Either way, if you really want to deal with this guy, at least use escrow. Otherwise there are plenty of options out there.
4936  Other / MultiBit / Re: Please help - Multibit std transaction stuck for 4 days on: May 20, 2017, 01:43:57 AM
I already repaired my wallet which should have reset my transactions however the status is still trying to sent bitcoins.  I didn't realize my transaction fee was too low (newbie) so I'm sure this is my problem.  Please help!
transaction id: 02276c0ef607cc50625cd87c8cbc261da4db44b33bcae5a0e072728fa58be752

Yes, it is definitely as a result of a low fee.

Unfortunately all you can do right now is to either wait for a confirmation or use the viabtc accelerator(make sure you get in there early every hour because usually every spot is taken in the first minute or two). If you really need this confirmed use the BTC.com transaction accelerator although they charge a fee for the service.

Good luck, next time just make sure your settings are correct before you send anything!
4937  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Neobux Golden Account for Sale on: May 20, 2017, 01:03:34 AM
its not easy to make money with neobux now, i was a golden untill i left without profit

before 2014 neobux was good but now its diferent.

there is no easy money
you have to manage the account and you have to monitor every thing and i don't have time for this

Indeed no easy money to be earned at neobux. Rented referrals are getting crappier by the day as they click less and less. Used to be pretty easy to make at least $20 just by clicking 10 ads a day which is the minimum for receiving the referral pay and make back your investment in a few months but now it's pretty much no chance of making back your original investment.

OP i'll add you on skype right now, and will be waiting for your response. I'm quite interested if you could offer a good discount. Thanks
4938  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling one OkPay account. ( Fully Verified ) on: May 20, 2017, 12:52:47 AM
I think nowadays anyone can easily create their own Okpay account with their own data so it will not be worthy for you to sell it because noone will like to buy it. But if someone is blocked from Okpay for creating another account or anyone want a second account for another project then they may be interested to buy that.

People can make OKPAY account with their documents yes but i guess you are forgetting that these type SOLD account can be use for many illegal purpose and scamming too . That's the main point usually to buy Verified Payment processor account with other's info and If OP has his info verified actually then if the buyer use it for illegal purpose then OP will have to answer for it in future , that risk also stays with the sale ; I hope OP don't forget about that .

I know that that's why I will not sell it to anyone new.

Even if you sell it to someone that seems trustworthy on the forums we have no idea what he is going to do with your account behind the curtains. He could use it to launder money and w/e and you'll get the blame for it.

It's your account, it's your sale. I can't say much to change what you want to do with your account but just hoping you can second think your decision to sell.

If someone needs to buy your account that means they can't verify themselves for some reason or they are too afraid to put up their own docs...

Well I tried the game out with the 100mbtc test credit... Not really sure how to bet, I assumed that it was like all other dice sites. When I tried to input the amount I wanted to bet everything was blank... I didn't even know whether I input the correct amount or not. The design is great but the execution terrible. EVery single time I placed a bet regardless of the amount I inputted(or tried to fill in for that matter) I always either lost or won 0.0001 mBTC. No idea what was going on.

Should fix that issue before you move on to promoting your site, otherwise it's just a waste of time, honestly.

I guess you use mobile phone and open it with firefox for android, because I experienced the same thing. But if you use chrome, it will work better and you can see the bet amount.

I actually didn't use a mobile phone at all, I did use a firefox browser though.

Dunon whether it would work with a chrome browser but a site shouldn't have to get its customers switching browsers just to bet on their site... Which has a huge ass house edge in the first place. Admin, you better fix this or don't expect any visitors to your site, let alone any depositors.
