4941  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Planning of new large Bitcoin Mining Facility in Germany on: February 14, 2017, 06:31:16 PM
Have you really considered all the pros and cons of doing it? Like the cost of setting up a power substation near that old post communist building? The cost of preparing the building (outlets, racks, air ducts, AC units, smoke detectors). There's also security, you'll need someone to be there and watch it. You'll need decent locks on the doors, and some cameras to monitor it from home.
Prepare a business plan with all the expenses summed up and you'll see it's a lot of money.
4942  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Account Prices? on: February 14, 2017, 06:43:53 AM
There's one more thing I'm worried about. Suppose we sold our account. The person who bought the account did an illegal job with this account.
Is it possible that we are not guilty? Can they sue us for they know our IP address?
First of all your login address is visible in the database, so if someone buys your account he will use a different ip than you did.
If the possibility of him scamming worries you, you can always keep the records of the sale, dates, addresses, conversations and if someone comes knocking at your door you will be able to prove you had no control over the account since (date). Since selling account is not prohibited on the forum, you haven't violated any laws and can't be held responsible.
4943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as Main Currency on: February 14, 2017, 06:34:54 AM
As an investor I'd be happy because it would mean a great increase in value. Bitcoin wouldn't go to the moon, but it would leave the Solar System to reach the nearest star!
It's good to dream, but it will never happen, at least until the dollar exists and is in a good shape. For Bitcoin to become the official currency there would have to be chaos first, the death of wall street, banks, and a crisis the country hasn't seen before. It would have to be so big to make people desperate and in need of something to fill the gap a burned out currency has left.
4944  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Planning of new large Bitcoin Mining Facility in Germany on: February 14, 2017, 06:23:54 AM
If you continue with your plan and set it up in Germany I can assure you your money will go to waste.
Germany has one of the highest electricity costs in Europe, the graph I showed below is old, but it shows the general trend. Also there are no positives of building it in there, the climate is mild, miners will require cooling, maybe some renewable sources, but these aren't cheap in Germany, because there isn't much sun exposure and no geothermal, so you're left with wind... Finland looks much better, cold weather, so no need for ac, much cheaper electricity. Not far from Germany, I'd say 2h flight should get you there. Good luck!
4945  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Efficient way to eradicate corruption on: February 14, 2017, 06:10:23 AM
Ex-USSR is riddled with corruption. A Russian minister (Alexei Ulyukayev) was recently arrested for taking bribes. In Moldova, corrupt officials stole about one-sixth of the GDP in a matter of few days. And the thieves are yet to be caught.
It's based on a simple fact. Countries with high unemployment rates and low wages will always face corruption problems. There are maps of corruption available, that show poor countries are the most corrupt and old USSR is just a small part of the former Soviet Union that is known for the things a bill under the table can do for you. My father used to travel through that region in the 80s and when you were caught by a militsiya patrol (communist police) you'd always put a note between the documents and they'd take it to the car to check and bring you back without it and wish you a pleasant trip. Many people were brought up in corruption and they are used to it
4946  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: profit on: February 14, 2017, 05:12:13 AM
why the profit of every 4 hr not transferred into our btc wallets as highlighted on the dashboard? because it says i will get something after every 4hours for 200 hrs starting from my investment
Are you get into ponzi? The sounds really ridiculous.I didn't think you have tried the bitcoin faucet before.
He doesn't even know where to place his post and you're asking him if he invested in a ponzi? Do you really expect him to be aware?
As the old saying goes: A fool and his money are soon parted.
4947  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis Mining? on: February 12, 2017, 06:11:46 PM
Genesis is scam. yeah they are paying to users but what they don't tell you is that they have rights to terminate your contract if it's no longer profitable for them. So all that "forever" and x years contracts with small hash will eventually be terminated. And even if you purchase x amounts of hash (larger) it will take years to hit ROI

i think they are not scam, i am with them since 2015 until now and i am getting ROI for almost one year and now i still got paying from them but i don't have much of hashrate. if the OP wants to select cloud mining, make sure that you have the info about cloud mining itself and read about the reviews from many people so you can select one with best recommended from people.
What does it mean "i am getting roi for almost one year?" Have you got the return or not, because everyone, who claims to have bought their contracts, are saying the same thing.
They aren't a scam because they are paying me, and I will roi in a year or 2 or 3 or whatever... and all of them are yet to reach the point, when GM starts sending them money.

Until you have reached the ROI point GM are paying you with your own money, so you're getting ahead of yourselves by saying they are not a scam.
4948  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to be a signature campaign manager? on: February 12, 2017, 06:11:25 PM
How much do signature campaign managers make in a month? Can they make something like .25 BTC? Legendary members in the forum can make up to around .2 BTC. I would think that managers are being paid more for their very hands on job.

Whos the best signature manager here at bitcointalk?
It depends on your agreement. Usually managers are making at least as much as the top paid posters, sometimes they are also wearing signatures and get a normal rate on top of it.
Given that some campaigns are paying BTC0.2 per month, you can surely make more as a manager.
4949  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert : Do NOT INVEST in Genesis Mining on: February 12, 2017, 05:54:05 PM
I think this is a great entry level investment.
How can you say that with all the facts presented in this thread. This is not an investment, it's a donation to GM, that you will never get back!
It's not about them being real or not or disappearing or not, it's about their ridiculous rates that need years to give a return.

people can think for themselves....but disgruntled users who invested $30 and expect a return just to bash on a forum seems a bit unfair.  of course i will now go in search of people who have lost a SUBSTANTIAL amount of BTC and are not paid trolls.
Not all people can think, because you obviously can't do the math if you're calling GM contracts "a great entry level investment."
You also can't do the math if you think that multiplying the invested sum will increase your chances to get something out of it.
If you think that only $30 investors are losing money there read this:

I think it is time that I write about my investment failure here as well. Everything was in front of my eyes and I couldn't see the negative outcome.

I have spent close to 12,5 BTC into the service and it cost around 6400 USD at the time. I have spent the majority of my BTC into the service around August 2016. Before that I have made smaller investments to see the service in action. It has been 5 months and I think it is safe to say I won't make it back.

Payments have started from 0,025 and now have fallen to 0,01 BTC per day. The amount I have gotten back in terms of BTC is 3.4 as of today. It is displayed in USD in Dashboard so it says if I have converted everything into USD I'd have made back 3.000 USD. From here onwards until the end of time I'm expecting to make another 1.000 USD so there is a net loss of at least 2.5K USD. In terms of BTC I have lost close to 8 BTC including the remaining payment I will get.

Is Genesis-Mining a scam?
- They don't reveal much of anything about their daily operations, you get payments out everyday.
- They are saying they will give out according to your share in the ever increasing Hash rate world which was aroun 1.5M TH when I invested and it is now around 3.4 M. Obviously you are gonna get less everyday.
- They state how much per GH they will charge for electricity.

So if everything is in front of you and they are saying they will do the job under these terms and you cannot see the future clearly is this a scam? That is an ethical dilemma I'll leave you to ponder about. I can think about that I have supported the BTC community but that's not how I see it.

My lessons learned:
- Don't make an investment decision late Friday night.
- Do not go all in.
- FFS read the fucking forum (I've found this forum AFTER the investment.)

I can provide screenshots and more info if needed.

Edit: If anyone wants to buy 47.5 TH I'm selling it for 3.000 USD, much cheaper then they are selling on their web site Tongue

Would you call him a "paid troll" too? Who is he paid by? There's no competition in cloud mining anymore, so there's nobody who would benefit from this.
4950  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin worth? Welcome to discuss on: February 09, 2017, 04:38:58 PM
My goverment still not trust bitcoin as bitcoin can be use for something bad like money laundry or funding terorism activity
You don't need to trust something for it to have a value. Years ago there was a site that was selling pixels for money, and you could spend a dollar there and be listed as an owner of a share, that didn't really give you any benefits. There are strange things in this world that have value to a group of people, like sports and movie gadgets to its fans, baseball cards, and many more.
Why Bitcoin has a value? Because a group of people believe in its capabilities.
4951  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: February 09, 2017, 04:17:05 PM
People who panicked and sold today are dumb. That's all there is to say.
I understand selling to make a profit, or to protect yourself if you bought at high price, but selling just because you heard some rumors from China is as retarded as it can be.
4952  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What would happen if ALL countries's borders were taken away tomorrow? on: February 09, 2017, 04:10:49 PM
Opening borders would be just a temporary thing. If the governments would come to such agreement it wouldn't be long before they started isolating themselves again. Just watch what is happening in Europe now. When the wave of refugee came many countries set up temporary blockades and border control posts. We can't have open borders due to religious and financial differences in the world.
4953  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Minig Vs Hardware Mining Which is best ? on: February 07, 2017, 04:26:21 PM
Well honestly i do some research about cloud mining but i dont fully understand it. as i read your opinion i know it is not advisable to use then it is very scary and risky though we can earn a small amount from it but i would prefer to post in the signature campaign to make money than investing in cloud mining. Anyways it is our choice where to invest.
Thank you for sharing your ideas dude.

What is it that you don't understand?
The idea behind CM is that you buy a share, which could be a full standalone miner and someone hosts it for you in his big mine. You pay for the hardware, he pays for the space, power and cooling and you share the profits. In reality companies are abusing the system and hiding their real profits to limit the payments and extend the payback period. Sometimes they don't even buy the hardware and run once enough people buy the contracts.
4954  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hacked at Nitrogen Sports on: February 07, 2017, 04:09:27 PM
nitrogensports only has google 2fa. so if phone hacked. they can get codes.

But did you have that option enabled or not? I couldn't find an answer in the thread.

they told me oh well too late 20 minutes after it happened
This means the transaction has already been processed. That's really fast, maybe they could at least provide you with the hacker's IP...
4955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Frustrates You Most When Using Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2017, 06:36:41 PM
Well, I'm very frustrated with btc last days, I'm paying 0.0005 fee (around 0,5usd) for a 24usd transaction and still need to wait around 6~8hours everyday...
That's a lot. My transactions confirm in an hour, sometimes it takes a bit longer, but with a large fee like yours it should be a lot faster than 6 hours.
I agree with you that the fees are getting too high, but the confirmation times haven't changed, at least for me.
4956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They have a Bitcoin beer vending machine in Vancouver on: February 06, 2017, 06:26:11 PM
Do you need to wait for confirmation?

If not, just double spend and it's free booze all night, plus cost of transaction you'll end up paying a lot more for one beer.

This is useless.

They actually edited this video, so it actually looks like it was instant... but I figure the unedited version shows that they waited for a

while? {I might be wrong} I would say, a better way to approach this, will be to buy a pre-loaded card and then for the machine to

debit or credit your card, as you spend it. You can load say, 20 beers and then start drinking and when you see that your beer credit is

getting low, then you just top up the card... and continue with the party.  Roll Eyes
I think that's what that red light on the machine is for. You pay and can sit down and wait for the confirmation. When it comes, the light starts flashing and you know your beer is ready.
The idea is good, but soon nobody will pay $2 for a beer if they are forced to pay half of that in fees. It will be cheaper to just order one at the bar.
4957  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Polish-registered recyclix.com is a Ponzi scheme and provably so. on: February 06, 2017, 06:14:21 PM
great so everyone should believe a recyclix marketer that they are paying out  Grin not that it matters. ponzis pay out for awhile and then they start building all kinds of barriers to slow down payments, like requesting sell button by email  Roll Eyes
Are you kidding me? Any1 ponzi scheme can tell they END date? - no, recyclix continues now with corporate accouns where minimal investments is 20.000 euros, so shut up about bariers, recyclix sayd: on 2018 oct will be last cycle for individual accounts then they can sell granules. So you are not right here.
You mean you are done screwing small fish and turned towards the whales? I hope not many of them are dumb enough to send you cash.
Did your idea come from that big and busted ponzi scheme in Poland? http://www.economist.com/blogs/easternapproaches/2012/08/polands-shadow-banking-scandal
Don't forget to spend some of that stolen money to improve your spelling.
4958  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump first action as a president: attack abortion right on: February 06, 2017, 06:02:27 PM
Babies don't come from thin air. If a woman knows she doesn't want to give birth, she shouldn't get pregnant in the first place.
I understand aborting, when you find out the child will be born with a defect, but it should be avoided in general.

So are you saying that even if there is a 1% chance that the baby may be born with a defect, the woman should not try to conceive? That is not how it works. If the fetus is having a major defect, then the woman must have the right to abort it.

No, the woman should conceive and then monitor the pregnancy. If the baby is found to have a major defect she should be allowed to abort.
I'm saying that if she knows she doesn't want a child, because she's poor or would be a bad mother for some reason, she should use contraception instead of abortion.

I think a woman should be able to have an abortion at their discretion regardless of the circumstances which it was pushed. Nobody has the right to decide for a woman what she should do. She's not a slave!
Let's stop using contraceptives and have sex every day with random partners, and if a baby gets conceived we'll abort. Is that your idea of a perfect society with no moral boundaries?
4959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell or wait? on: February 06, 2017, 05:57:18 PM
If you are not comfortable with trading price swings, I would simply hold the coins and wait it out.

You will stop getting the feeling that you missed out on trading opportunities eventually, which will make it easier.
As long as you are watching the charts you will have that feeling. The first step is to move money out of the exchanges, to break your daily trading routine. Then stop watching the charts and monitoring the price every day, because you will still feel the need to trade and feel regrets. After some time you will stop caring and move on, while your coins will continue to gain value in your wallet.
4960  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming. Allowed? on: February 06, 2017, 05:52:25 PM
The solution? Start using a decent platform for discussing btc instead of this corrupt one.
What platform are you talking about? How would you stop people from farming accounts there?
