4961  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: October 26, 2015, 07:40:12 PM
My main thing is like I said I push people to research.  I make 0 money off of what people decide on cloud mining.  So I don't push, just tell them to research before doing investment.
Then why did u keep mum when I published my research results and tmfp was attacking me for publishing it? Is it the case that the research result must show certain cloud mining is better than the other to be reagarded as valid?

I don't think I attacked you did i?   I do think some are better then others, but I don't think I remember anything with you and I.  I also push people to come to their own conclusion on what cloud mining they trust.

So if you were pushing one I likely remained quiet, as I think the investor should make that call.  But I do speak in mining and cloud mining in general as my love of mining.

At the time, while you are pushing for imaginary research or fighting for fake legitimacy, www.CloudMining.website has published another blockchain proof of their payment...

https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/9a959a3e72ff3161d11059b05918e0c43224538d6391e638d1e3cbe01330b3ef

Will your super legit cloud miners dare to show some blockchain proof ? Roll Eyes

As fake proof you mean me asking about hardware?   Yes... before a investment I would want to make sure there is hardware.   It's nothing against you but you seem to take it personal as you cannot show hardware.

Why attack me for telling people to research before investing?  I think they will find legit sites on their own.  You have been mad many times at me.   I guess I don't see a payment with no other info as proof.  How do we not know 3/4 of those being paid are not you?   Or that you are not just paying part of what you bring in as you do not ever mention hardware or proof there?  I personally just don't see a random blog as being a 3rd party to brag about as if you have been audited, that blog does not mean a whole lot to most people.

I mean again it's nothing personal I make 0 dollars no matter what people decide.  I just think they should research and ask question, no matter what the investment.
4962  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 26, 2015, 07:31:37 PM
All,

I need a suggestion. I order BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series with ANTMINER S7 BATCH 3 recently. Order hasn't shipped yet.

I am double minded about PSU; will that work in America?
https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201505040743496917U7kGsCm0694

Voltage Range
176-264V AC

Starting Voltage
200-205V AC

Would some help me please..

Yes, it works in America.  However, you need access to 208 to 240 Volts instead of 120 Volts.  This would be a 2 poll breaker in the Main Service Panel and a minimum of 20 amps with 12 AWG wiring.  If 2 poll 30 amp breaker, you need 10 AWG wiring.  I don't think you are going higher than 30 Amps if you are installing a 240 volt outlet for the BMT 1600 watt PSU if you are in your home.  I would suspect if you were in a data center, you would not have asked this question.

240 Volts is the way to go.  You can run twice as many rigs than you can with 120 Volts.  If you don't know what you're doing with electricity, get some help locally.

Could easily get away with a 2 pole 15A 240V breaker and 14GA wire if all he wants to power is 1 or 2 bitmain PSUs. If more, 30A and PDU.

I agree.  We just don't know if he's comfortable taking out a single pole 15 amp and replacing it with a 2 pole 15 amp.  He might need to use a tandem breaker to make room in main service panel.  He would have to make sure no other NON-240 Volt devices are plugged into the circuit to prevent potential fire.  It would be best to have a dedicated circuit made just for the rig with its PSU.  It's quite common for circuits to be looped (in a string) for receptacles (outlets), switches and lighting.  I would be concerned about other devices connected to this circuit that would not handle the pressure of 240 Volts if someone were to accidentally plug a device not made for 240V at another outlet on the same loop as the circuit he upgraded to 240V.

It's best IMHO to make (create) dedicated 240V circuits just for the mining rig(s) and PSU's to avoid possible fire from circuits plugged into looped outlets on the same circuit that were designed for 120 Volts.

Could get away with it... but I highly would not recommend doing it as I would guess a someone out there would try to do the breaker without the proper wiring.   Which is not a good thing at all.

I would recommend as well getting a 240 line dedicated for miners with wiring you know is proper gauge.   It really is a better solution long term then trying to get away with other things that might not be quite as safe in long run.
4963  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: rumors of 3.5Th antminer S7 "lite" on: October 26, 2015, 05:25:12 AM
Do we have any sources on this rumor.  I have people that also would like this to be confirmed or denied.

-D

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=934581.msg12769055#msg12769055

Honestly, nobody knows how accurate this is, hence it is 'rumors" in "speculation" rubric, NOT in hardware.

As a source it should be pretty accurate.  If he truly was in a town purchasing 3PH of power I'm sure he would have talked to bitmain and avalon as it sounds he did.

The date of Nov 10th was thrown around so guess we just have to wait to see if Bitmain really did make such a big move.  I suspect from reading thread he has avalon cloud he talks about for sell before this Nov 10th date.   But guess we will have to wait and see.

I had an old burnt up bfl jalapeno, so I took the heat sink fan combo and mounted it onto a GS stick. I also had some stick on heat sinks from the s1s and put them on the back side of the pcb for a little extra cooling. OC is at 400 right now and running smooth for a few hours with 0 hw errors, I will have to mod my usb hub to get any higher clocks but this baby stays cool. I usually see 22 to 28 ghs. This baby will be pushed to the max and hopefully survive, I do have plans of getting a few more and doing other odd ball cooling and OC.

Holy crap that is the most awsome mod I have seen yet!  That massive heat-sink just looks right on there Smiley.

Thanks for sharing that is very impressive with a fan.  I'm wondering what that thing can do now.
4965  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - AntRouter R1 ($49.99) COMPAC ($34.99) - ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: October 26, 2015, 01:51:29 AM
my U3 worked for a day now wont hash like the chip is dead. have reset and unplugged for a while but nothing. any ideas?

it is plugged into my R1 which is working fine.

Try a computer and see what it shows when you try to mine with it.    That or possibly try restarting R1.  I think it will be easier to make sure it's all working troubleshooting on computer then move to R1 after making sure it's working.

It should work though it would be odd for it to die if your running at normal speeds
4966  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [SIDEHACK STICK] Official sales thread for everywhere not already covered on: October 26, 2015, 01:46:55 AM
I've gotten one past 15W but I wouldn't leave it unattended.

Parts order for the next batch was delayed by funds availability but that problem is pretty much solved now. We should be sending off on Monday which means we'd start meeting pending orders within a week.

Great news on funds!  Thanks for update as I'm sure it was not any fun trying to catch someone who is going silent.

I know how much you hate taking money before providing a product.  But if you ever run into this where it's a small cash flow problem I think there are quite a few willing to put money for pods and not push.   Hopefully the second batch brings some cash inflow to you though.
4967  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread oct 15th to oct 29th picks are closed!! With a bonus reward. on: October 26, 2015, 01:42:57 AM
I did the same, Phil.  Soon as it topped $300 I sold a couple coins.

One thing you have to hate or love depending on what side your on is sell wall's or auto sells.  I think 290 might be a little bit of a fight to stay over unless it is slow.

300 to stay without jumping all around is going to take quite a bit of sells to happen I think personally before it sticks.  I would love to see 300 as a solid price though.
4968  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Cloud Mining or Home Mining or Both? on: October 26, 2015, 01:38:52 AM
Hey guys,

I'm trying to get into the mining game and I don't know what is better, should I buy mining hardware or should I look into cloud mining? Or, maybe both?

Also, where would I start with either one? Does anyone here know of any Legit cloud mining companies?

I have no idea what the cost of electricity is where I live, can someone tell me how I can find such information?

Thank you in advanced! Grin

You will need to know how much electricity is.   You really need a bill to know this without a bill normally it seems not all taxes are there on some electricity companies when advertising.  So a true bill is best.

You need to find a bill or possibly online even a lot of companies do.  Then see if you pay a VAT/import tax for your country.  Do some ROI math.  And you will find out which is best for you.  It's not one size fit's all on what is best.
4969  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: rumors of 3.5Th antminer S7 "lite" on: October 26, 2015, 01:35:52 AM
If it's nice and balanced speed vs noise, then ok!

Otherwise give me s7++

I doubt noise is a factor on it.  I'm hoping they keep a full case design even though it's a little higher.

My biggest fear is to see something like S5 with two blade in a plastic sided no full case device.  Not sure what to expect on the new version.
4970  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining dead ? on: October 25, 2015, 12:19:40 PM
Doesnt need to be lifetime ,as i said some kind of contract ,saying you will get 5% or 10% in 1 year of your investment, but well at bitcoin is impossible to someone offer such thing knowing difficult is raising ,and would turn into scam too fast.

True cloud mining or even hardware mining comes with no guarantee of ROI, or espically tell a percent earned per year.  You just cannot predict this with accuracy when talking about a timeline like you said a year, which would include having in one so long at this point.

Avoid anything that guarantees ROI/Profit, or lifetime.  I suggest everyone to research it but those are common signs of scams that a legit cloud mining place would not do or guarantee anything sounding like that.
4971  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: October 25, 2015, 12:12:23 PM
Still getting some resets with 1 U3.  But less than 3 U3's.   So odd that it does seem to reset.

The interesting thing is there still appears to be not near as many of these online from antrouter page as I thought there would considering they sold out:
During the last 100 days in 126 valid miners.

your resets are probably due to high difficulty and timing out.
set the cgminer-monitor to run every 5 minutes instead of 3.

also i bet a good amount are on different pools..

Thanks for advice I am giving it a try and see what happens I will report back.   Maybe i will try a different pool with U3 was trying Kano for fun.  Anyone have any favorite to point miners with low power at?

And you could be right.  I wanted to give mine on default for a bit for fun, but I could see many switching to CK's solo.

i use cksolo with nhsolo as backup.. just make sure to add the --suggest-diff 16 to the params and put -p diff_16 for nh pool.

is it just the u3 that gets reset or the whole thing?

in the monitor script the u3 only has 1 option and thats if you lose internet it shuts down. case e.. unfortunately you have to modify that script to make it tell you why.. its easy tho if you know what you are doing i can show you.

It is the entire antrouter that get's restarted.  it will start back at 0 uptime.

And thanks I appreciate I might hit you up on it.  I took it to 5 minutes from 3 on the scheduled task.   I'm hoping that will make a difference.

I made calculations, $ 1,658 + $ 54 shipping + $ 366 taxes customs Italy
Total = $ 2,078
 Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

I'm talking about only one miner S7

That $366 tax in customs is possibly a deal breaker.  I'm curious, how much is your power costs converted into U.S. Dollars (USD)?

Italian electricity and 38 cents kW

That is really high.  As some have said not all places are meant for bitcoin mining the electricity price alone kills mining.

You could pick a datacenter but I know that is not as fun.  But you do have a beautiful country... so not all bad.
4975  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Free electricity on: October 25, 2015, 11:35:45 AM
AntMiner all the way. They're (relatively) silent and can pump out a good hash rate.

This is not true on many Bitmain miners.  Some run hot and loud by default.  Silent is not something many of them are called.

If OP tells us a certain one some are more quiet then others but as general rule S4, S5, S7 I would not consider quiet by any means.
4976  Economy / Services / Re: Own a drone? Get $5 in Bitcoin when you write a review at Dronecheap on: October 25, 2015, 03:44:43 AM
I did a review of my Syma X5C.  I did not read part of writing name and used a stock photo.  Ohh well live and learn.  It is a great drone for the price.  Only problem I ever had was breaking thumb stick off during flight.... was a rough landing.  But I made it and was able to glue it and works now.

For those into drones I suggest also looking into gas RC car's.  I have had a ton of fun with that hobby trying it.    Something about a RC item with that much power is just a heck of a lot of fun.  Although the high quality electric RC cars are a heck of a lot easier to start and run then messing with gas.  But I always wanted a gas one to play with.

Hey thanks for your review.  I can pay you the $5 in Bitcoin if you email a photo of your X5C to contact@dronecheap.net.  Just include a piece of paper with today's date or your username in the photo.

Anyway, im gonna write a review for it Wink
Going to do it in a few hours since im at work right now Roll Eyes

Please do!  There are still 18 of 20 payouts remaining!

Dont bother any more because the $5 Bitcoin giveaway has ended

Not sure why you say this, there are still 18 of 20 payouts remaining.  The "The $5 Bitcoin giveaway has ended" on this page is simply an example of the message that will be displayed on the review submission form when the whole thing has ended.  (I'm going to remove that example message because I think it's confusing some people).

Thank you for that.  I will take a picture tomorrow with forum name.  It really is good drone for the money.

The controller just have to be a little gentle with.  I might suggest others of trying to possibly use glue or something to strengthen the thumb sticks.  I was not pushing that hard when mine snapped one, I guess it could have been defective.  But was able to fix after the incident.
4977  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i earn with bitcoin please? on: October 25, 2015, 03:37:27 AM
1: Make quality post and soon your account will be earning ~50 Dollar per month - like me! Smiley.
2: Dont gamble or invest in HYIP site.
3: Use faucets to collect "dust" for transaction fees - check out FreeBitco.in or Weekend Bitcoin and ... my site, BitRevenues.

Faucet is really bad idea, it's better to spend more time on signature campaign or join giveaway on Games and rounds section, since you could earn more bitcoin.
Sell your skill on freelancer sites which accept bitcoin is also good option

No faucets are good if you believe in bitcoin's future. If you get some 500 satoshit today, it may worth some 1$ in 5 years.

But, if join signature campaign & giveaway & get about 0.1BTC, it may worth $1000 in future
That's why i say faucet is bad idea because you could earn more by join signature campaign & giveaway

Yes faucets also good way of earning bitcoin if bitcoin prices go up.

Most faucets your talking about dust as payments.   Even if bitcoin goes up... unless it really hits the moon those payments worth cents are not just going to be worth a ton.

I would not count on faucets for a good way to invest time and bring in coins.   You will get cents per hour most likely... even if btc doubles that is a small amount still.
4978  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to Reduce Heat and Noise? on: October 25, 2015, 03:34:00 AM
Hi Miners,

My neighbours have now started to complain that the humming sound have become louder from my outdoor rig, consisting of 4 miners (1 x LTC 110mh, S5 x 1, and S7 x 2). Became worse when my newly installed S7s has a whistling sound coming from 1 of the unit.

I don't have a basement. I don't have a closed room either. So an outdoor solution was what I chosen for my rigs. So far no serious heat issues but as soon as I try to reduce the noise by putting all the rigs into a small cabinet (with reasonable amount of fans).... heat increases.

I am looking to redo my rig cage, and apply some best practise for optimum cooling and substantial noise reduction.

Appreciate any suggestions.

TMT

I would really look into other possible solutions such as downcloking or better fan's.   I would personally hate to put that investment outside.

Are you able to show picture of outdoor solution?  When I hear outdoors just makes me think of a lot of possible troubles.
4979  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining taxes on: October 25, 2015, 02:47:06 AM
Do you already pay a lot of taxes, when you buy the miner you pay import taxes, Vat taxes, when you are mining you pay taxes of the electricity. I don't think that more taxes are needed. And I think its difficult to see how many bitcoins have you mined.
right
we're already pay a lot of taxes. import taxes, sales taxes, vat, taxes of the electricity, taxes of the internet connection, etc.
add tax? no ROI.

Depends on where you are at.   US for example really no import/vat tax.  So we are lucky there.

Yes in some countries those are huge fee's.  So I guess this depends on what country were talking about taxes.  I assumed US.  But guess on a global forum I should not assume.
4980  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are newbie? come here i will tell how to earn bitcoins here in forum.. on: October 25, 2015, 01:53:32 AM
Well OP wants to bring all the opportunities in one thread.
I think this is a good idea, but there is something about signatures.
I would highly suggest to link threads if you think so, for signatures, avatars, pay for signups, etc..
Cross out the avatars, you know newbies can't have them. @OP I'd cross out all signature campaign except secondstrade, bitin , 777coin and maybe keep yobit though as it accepts Jr. members+ . Second thing you seem to have secondstrade signature campaign two times.

If OP wants to mention only the newbies opportunity then it would be very less information.
I would suggest him to make a rich thread by including all the opportunities for all rank members.
Not just limited to newbie but for all, by categorizing rank by rank.

The title clearly indicated that this is targeted to newbies, so I don't see anything wrong deleting some campaigns which do not accept newbies. Also, there already is a repo of all signature campaigns created by Mitchell and is being updated constantly. Best part is, it is detailed enough to know all the things in a particular signature campaign.

At newbie rank 1/2 of the listed sig campaigns would do you no good.  So saying it's for newbies... but they can't join is not really doing them a lot of good.

Also the thread he based this off of is much more readable as a table.  He would do better linking to that table.  Converting it to words just did not come out pretty.  Basically it can be worded at full member will open much more doors on sig campaigns.  And better pay by far.  Newbies will hit this eventually.  Full Member is in no way a impossible goal.
