So, basically OP wants sympathy to lower rank. (Jr-hero) I really get His Idea saying that poor people will stay as poor but I dont consider myself as poor. The only thing that OP. Is conscious and scared of is that he will not become a Sr.member if he will not achieve 250 merits? (Am I right or wrong?). In other words that he want to pursue is how can my payments rate be changed if my rank does not change into Sr.Member then How can he be rich? (LOL).

You cannot just perform a suggestion by proposing "merit' should be a "like" compared to other social media. This forum is genuine unlike facebook and YouTube ; you just keep on scrolling wasting time if you don't have a business with that. But, Nice try,  If your proposal is interesting and is helpful, then theymos will take action to that.

However, merit idea is still fresh it will take time to be used by other user who are not updated about the new feature.

So if he made about 700 bitcoins and just stored it, then the best time to withdraw all of His Bitcoin is when it reach the price of 20k USD so that he can earn about over half Billion. It's a good thing that he doubt to withdraw all of it, well he HODL For how many years then He could just HODL  for months also.

My own idea as a suggestion. Don't mind if not helpful.

Scammers are always everywhere they cause a lot of trouble to investors, maybe tagging them with red flag is not effective as it is but banning there I.P. address can or maybe helpful to evict them in this forum. ( If it is proven that an accused person is a real scammer with reference). This is just only a suggestion.

Spammers are crying out loud in the "reputation section", some wants clarification why they are tagged, some wants to argue without watching their words and does not give respect to superiors. Some have points to consider, but I trust DT MEMBERS with their decision. This is a community not a market where we can just speak freely. So tagging is an effective way but giving time to evaluate is a good way to assess.
Everybody deserves a second chance, then if they do it again, banning account is good enough to neutralize spammers.

How about if the post merited is deleted? Will the merit count? Or erased too? Because somebody could just use merit for unreasonable purpose.

It can be a good idea that they ask Goldman but if ever he will invest in crypto world, is it going to be alright or no? Of course no! So theymos is adjusting the algorithm of this site, and moderators are always experiencing headache, also DT members are blamed saying that they abuse the trust but they are actually doing right.

In my own perspective it is not advisable to install wallets from your hard drive just in case it can be  corrupted with virus because if you will accidentally connect it to a device infected with virus such as Trojans then your dead. If you are just putting a little amount of coins then better to choose legit web wallets, but, if it will be a huge amount then desktop wallets I prefer.
