501  Other / Meta / Re: Massive account farmer? on: September 09, 2018, 02:39:42 PM
Indeed. Perhaps the merit system motivates them even more than before to farm a bunch of accounts because they know that they will never reach an higher status, so they are taking an approach that's basically joining the lowest requirement campaigns and stacking up all the little rewards into something that's probably worth them for them in a 3rd world country.

I think that lots of users just aren't aware of the merit system and if they are, aren't fully aware of what it means for them (them being new users). It's the hope that they can grow the accounts and farm them for sig campaigns/sell on to others to participate in sig campaigns that incentivises them to farm. If they were fully aware of the merit system I think we'd actually see fewer account farmers as they'd realise that their efforts would be futile.
502  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ART] CRYPTO GUY ACRYLIC PAINTING on: September 09, 2018, 02:25:32 PM
This actually looks awesome! I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it really looks dope. I like the effect you've given the coins, really stands out a lot. I'll be watching the auction closely Smiley
503  Other / Meta / Re: Massive account farmer? on: September 09, 2018, 01:51:33 PM
You may be right as they based their argument around Satoshi Nakamoto being the founder of BTC but it is not enough to really to tag all of them as farmed accounts. The good thing is they are low ranking accounts which if they are really farmed accounts their value would be less compared to Sr. Members and above. Here we can see that the merit system is also stopping the advancement of this kinds of business as ranking up one account is hard to do what more if you are trying to rank up multiple accounts with your spammy plagiarized posts?

It’s not solely those posts that are suspicious. Whilst those two have clearly been copied and pasted, theniverall wroting style with the others is pretty much the same. Even if the accounts are all tied together I’d be surprised if half of them weren’t (possibly more than one account farmer).
504  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Patent an APP on: September 09, 2018, 12:30:17 PM
I’ve looked into this slightly more and it seems that patenting an app is quite difficult. Most patents require there to be novelty/innovative elements which is difficult to prove with a mobile application unless it something truly revolutionary. Again, better to get a feel and advice from an IP lawyer but just a heads up.
Also take into consideration the cost and length of the process involved which will do little to deter copycat apps from appearing online.
505  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Patent an APP on: September 09, 2018, 09:09:59 AM
Patent laws vary by country. What country are you trying to file in?
I assume the timeframe you’re referring to doesn’t relate to completing the project. Most patents are there to protect work which takes significantly longer.
There are also lots of free resources online that you can refer to for an idea of the process and what it involves (timelines, requirements etc).
506  Other / Meta / Re: [New Feature Idea] Saving avatars - new forum, or current SMF on: September 09, 2018, 07:49:21 AM
Imagine every user having multiple avatars saved? To me it just seems like a lot of extra and needless storage the site will need to put up with. Although each avatar may not be much, multiplied  by the number of members would mean the forum would have to spend more on storage which frankly isn’t necessary. Whilst it would be a beneficial feature to a few users, I think the cost involved would be better spent elsewhere.
507  Economy / Services / Re: Free Numerology Service for All users Limited TIme on: September 09, 2018, 07:35:50 AM
Numerology is a great way to uncover your Personality number, Heart number, Life Path number and uncover your destiny at the same time. I think numbers hold significant importance in our day-to-day lives whether in conversation, speech or anywhere else.

If you want a good alternative I would check out https://www.numerologynamecalculator.com/

Why bump a dead thread?
508  Other / Meta / Re: Massive account farmer? on: September 08, 2018, 08:51:25 PM
Clearly linked accounts. It’d be cool if the new forum software (whenever/if it is introduced) would have an in-built feature that automatically detects multiple accounts based on the writing style and IP address. Although the merit system aims to discourage such posts, the current and more practical way to stop it is through tagging the alt accounts. Well spotted though.
509  Economy / Reputation / Re: Just take a look if you're interested on: September 06, 2018, 06:15:36 PM
No it doesn’t belong here. This sub is about issues/problems between forum members.
I’m not sure what you were intending to do with this thread, but if you’d like to find out about merit.me or discuss the project then please refer back to the ANN thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5008767.0).
510  Other / Meta / Re: Issues with Changing Avatar on: September 06, 2018, 10:09:30 AM
Initially I thought it was the time but it’d never taken that long for me before. Either way it’s all sorted now. Thanks for the input. Thread locked.
511  Other / Meta / Re: Issues with Changing Avatar on: September 06, 2018, 08:40:43 AM
Edit: Thought I just managed to sort it but apparently not..
512  Other / Meta / Issues with Changing Avatar on: September 06, 2018, 08:34:25 AM
Is it just me or is there an issue with changing the avatar?
I've logged off and on again, cleared cookies and tried a bunch of different things but it seems that when I do either no avatar is displayed or the old one shows up. When I go back to Forum profile information and click on the avatar page it shows me the new avatar but doesn't actually apply it to the account. Any ideas?

514  Economy / Goods / Re: CHEAP FedEx Shipping on: September 05, 2018, 05:52:51 PM
That's really interesting. I had no idea that FedEx did that. Truth be told I haven't had the best of experience with FedEx, but with these sort of rates it's hard to say no.
Regarding the service, I'd only really need it for international shipping (UK to US and the like).
I'll PM you in due course to see what we can arrange Smiley

I look forward to seeing what we can conjure up together. Note that I won't accept this as a vouch copy unfortunately, given that currently my plan is really to focus on the domestic because I don't want to have to teach people how to fill out customs forms.

Out of curiosity, what were your past experiences with FedEx?

No worries. I don’t need a vouch Smiley
I could have been unlucky but they’ve missed a few scheduled collections, double charged import taxes and quoted me higher rates than equivalent couriers. That being said, on a business account things are supposed to be very different.
515  Economy / Collectibles / Re: BITCOIN CASASCIUS 2013 - .5 BTC LOADED FULLY FUNDED on: September 05, 2018, 03:02:35 PM
If someone is interested & wants to give me a good offer, we can make a deal. At a certain point I should just crack this open I guess.

I don't get the whole grading thing with these, it does not look like PCGS or NGC does it right? In the coin collecting world if its not them its a waste $ & time.

Start an auction on here at peel value. You'll end up getting the market rate for it which will be above peel value (BTC + main forks), avoid paying ridiculous ebay and PP fees and prevent another Cas coin from being peeled.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Project] I.C.O Crypto Millionaires..... on: September 05, 2018, 02:59:23 PM
If this I.C.O was set up on the day i made this post, we would now already be in 300% profit. If we set this up in march last year we would be in 10,000% Profit. If we set this this up in 2012 when we first tried everyone would be in hundreds of thousands percent profit.

I don’t see a problem here. We told you on day 1 to use your own money seeing as you’ve all made it big already. Had you taken my advice you’d have increased your returns by over 300%. Next time be smart and listen to my  advice when I give it to you Cheesy

You must be stupid to think that we didn't already use our own money to invest. The only problem we have now, is having too much money to invest it takes awhile to get out of our positions. But yes brought as many WTC as possible around $2 and Vechain at 100/110 sats.

What you are not understanding is that its not about the money anymore its about building a loyal community that works together to create successful for each other, to be heard and helped. For example ALONE your opinions and problems in crypto are useless nobody cares, nobody will listen to you, but if you have thousands of people working together with same agenda then people will listen. We aim to remove the monopolised power of the exchanges.

We will be using our own funds to purchase all unsold coins in the I.C.O to guarantee this will be a success. So at least we know for sure all coins will be sold Smiley

Your problem (as you claim) is having too much money... I’ve never really heard anyone claim that being a problem before.
And if your problem means that you have too much to invest, why are you looking to raise more money with an ICO? You can build a community without making people buy in to your nonsense.
I’ll retract my comments once you provide proof of previous trades and put your money where your mouth is. Until then I’ll stand by my words and my belief that this is nothing more than a joke.

Well you obviously haven't heard the song - Biggie Smalls - Mo Money Mo Problems  Smiley
I just stated that it can be difficult liquidating some positions without crashing the currency when you own a large stake, it is a problem, but a problem that we enjoy having.

What community would you think will be more loyal to our vision?

One that makes you a fortune or one that does not? thats why we are creating this I.C.O

I remember when Ethereum was around 50 cents and the future founder of this project had said "it is so frustrating to know something for certain and people not listen" he said that regarding nobody listening to him about ethereum and previously BTC, all he was trying to do was help people, completely free of charge, he is a well known person within the community and he had literally told hundreds of people to buy ethereum they will retire and for awhile he was thought of some crazy idiot that buys into ponzi scams. Once ethereum hit $1500, i can tell you that there were a lot of depressed people in our community who would never have even known what crypto were if not for the founder, now these same people beg him for advice and try to throw money at him he has been offered several opportunities to create and run a hedgefund, he refuses and i don't blame him, they had previously laughed at him and in it purely for the greed not for what blockchain stands for.

The Point is - he is still certain he can make a lot of people extremely rich, So why should he not try? We are going to put a lot of effort into something that is not really going to be extremely beneficial to ourselves but we believe its beneficial to the crypto community because once we hit a billion dollar market cap.
We will have the power in numbers, a large loyal wealthy respected intelligent community that would have the power to effect an exchanges business, exchanges act how they please completely corrupt but imagine we could remove or add hundreds of millions from their exchange? they are going to listen to us! We can shut down scamming promotors. We will become like the law of the cryptos. I don't won't to give away too many details of what we can achieve for the greater good of cryptos but you will see.

Of course there are scammers, but not everyone is a scammer, we are that 1 in 200.

What trades would you like to see? how we made $800,000 in 9 months from $2000 or buying dash at 50 cents? Or would you like to a screenshot of my local bitcoin account from 2012? I guess you are from the UK and so are we.. lets meet up and take you out for a night and im sure any doubts you have of us needing money and trying to create any type of scam will be gone. Also in UK you would receive a large prison sentence for any scams.

P.S Your account shows you have been around since 2013 so if you are not extremely wealthy yourself(i have a feeling you are not) you must be pretty stupid or had doubts in the future of cryptocurrencies. We never once had any doubts and our reason for such great success, so i can understand if you are slightly bitter, But don't worry we are here to help you my friend Smiley one or two years from now your dreams can be achieved... The only risk to an investor is if cryptos become completely outlawed. No happening.

On the contrary, I’m quite familiar with it. It reminds me of someone I know who has the same response to the ‘money can’t buy you happiness’ saying. When he was young he professed that “money can buy you jet skis and have you ever seen someone unhappy on a jet ski”?

Back to the matter at hand, all I’m saying is that your answers don’t add up. Read them over again and you can see my cause for concern.

About wanting to help others, great! I believe in giving back to the community. It’s something that everyone should do (if they can). What I don’t get and what you still haven’t explained is why you need other people’s money for it. You claim to have more than enough but haven’t given any concrete answer on why you need other people’s... Loyalty is something that is earned. If you can demonstrate that your founder’s visions are indeed heaven sent then trust me when I say you’ll have a very loyal following. No upfront layout needed on either part.

This ties in to my next point. Why don’t  you publicly call a trade and see how that fares in the not too distant future. I want to see this magic for myself. Previous trading history (including bad calls) is always welcomed.

And yes, quite observant. I’m primarily based in London but every now and then find myself abroad. Having been said I’d welcome a face to face meeting in which you can convince me otherwise.

About my personal wealth, I’m not silly enough (although maybe only marginally) to disclose anything about that on here. Regardless, you don’t have to worry about me. I’ve made some very good decisions (and some less so) which has put me in a place that I’m very content with. I’ll never say no to more but I’ve been made aware of what greed can do.

Catch ya in a bit Smiley

Sadly my form dropped over the last two weeks (kind of like United’s). On the positive side I got to see Tottenham lose yesterday Cheesy
Looking forward to next season’s comp Grin
