501  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My source merit allowance has been increased, so I need your help. on: July 05, 2018, 09:06:42 PM
No I don't want you to send me PMs, because I'll probably just delete them, and I don't want you to post links to the threads or posts that are under-merited in your opinion. What I would like you to do is to make some good well reasoned posts, or start useful information threads to help me to use my extra allocation. I won't award anything for TwitBook posts, or posts about bounty or ICOs. Posts about Bitcoin, the crypto-economy, node operation, and other things that are useful for new members of the Bitcoin community would be ideal. "when moon", "what Lambo" and stuff like that is juvenile and not useful.

If you don't think your English is up to it, then get your post cleaned up at Fit to Talk, and then post the cleaned version. You'll still get the credit and the merits for it.

I hope you can get some merits for this thread, you do a great work for crypto economy.

crypto-economy is related to icos and an upcoming major paradigm shift in advertising . ATM I'm preparing material for lectures and workshops at universities to teach people about it.
503  Other / Off-topic / Re: ENGLISH LANGUAGE THE MOST POWERFUL LANGUAGE? on: July 04, 2018, 11:12:48 PM
I don't see it as "most powerful" (what's powerful is the American army and passport). I see it rather as most useful. It is widely-spoken and it is the language of academia and pretty much the internet.

It is simply the result of various historical events - any language could have been used. Had the Aztecs colonized the world, we'd all be speaking Nahault.

English language is powerful of course, but the most powerful one I think is Chinese. It's a language of the future.

It took centuries for English to displace French so I don't think Chinese (or rather the official Mandarin) is going to be the lingua franca anytime soon.

I don't see a shift happening, will China invade and colonize the whole world? In the past people from many countries traveled to study in Europe, often France and England. but English became widely spoken in the last century due to the expansion of the US cultural industry, this influence won't just raise with GDP. There are many factors involved, like the difficult of learning, and there's no much sense making people learn other language when you already have a huge literary archive available in English, including this post. It's most likely that in some time we will have good AI powered translators to talk to anyone in any language.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Poll results: Which is the biggest problem in the crypto market? on: July 04, 2018, 10:45:22 PM
Of course, what else than price manipulation  Roll Eyes
What about "scams are biggest problem in crypto market"? You don't see that as option but I do.
Why not run poll here so we can see how bitcointalk members are thinking?

In my opinion price manipulations would be still bigger problem. Every scams can be discovered and avoided without any losses. Unfortunately, in the case of manipulation, we can not do anything

scams are the fuel for bad news and confuse people, many don't try the crypto market because they believe everything is a fraud
505  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Show do Meritão!

507  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are some countries still so rich and others so poor on: July 03, 2018, 04:28:35 PM
most of the poorest were victims of colonialism in the past, that empowered corrupt elites, the consequences are still here.
while the richest are the ones who explored and continue to interfere in the politics and economics of the 1st ones.

it's a zero sum game.
508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Bounty Notification Help on: July 02, 2018, 04:57:33 PM
It is a good choise if we have many time Smiley. I think find bounties on site like bountihive or bountiesalert is better if we don't have much time
We don't have the same time that we can render with these bounties, everyone here aren't full time to those like me.

Bountyhive is quite popular now to bounty hunters and I think it's a good website that you can use as notification too if you don't want to get left behind with new bounties.

bounty0x.io is a good platform too
509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will bitcoin will look like once fully regulated? on: July 02, 2018, 04:52:13 PM
Will it be then better, than any other existing currencies?

it can be "fully regulated", only exchanges can be regulated.
510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free Airdrops on: July 02, 2018, 04:38:24 PM
Where can I find free airdrops? How am I supposed to participate in any kind of airdrops? I don't even have tokens at the moment but I'm willing to invest.

try these sites airdropalert.com airdrops.io airdropking.io airdrops.com.br

be careful when you see airdrops on social media, telegram, many are fake and may lead to phishing sites.
never share your private key.
511  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we make this world economically better? on: June 30, 2018, 09:30:56 PM
The society is divided into haves and haves not, poor people are getting more poorer and rich people are getting more richer, Value of money is decreasing and inflation is increasing, Many people around the globe suffer death mostly Africa and asia because hunger and unable to fulfill basic human needs.
What actions should governments need to take and how individuals can contribute?

In my own opinion, the only reason why people are becoming poor is because they are lazy, working hard on bounty campaigns or trading in the market can actually make you rich in a short amount of time.

do you realize that some people don't even own computers or phones?

514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about Bitcoin with merit awards - block linkage in the blockchain on: June 30, 2018, 04:54:03 PM
This seems to be a good point to list the contents of the block header, or maybe not, it looks terrible if I copy and paste.

You can find it on this page.

https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-reference#block-headers

when a header is classified as alternative in cardano blockchain?
515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questions about Bitcoin with merit awards/ on: June 30, 2018, 02:55:48 PM
I wondered if somebody would introduce orphan blocks. Smiley

It's become quite an interesting discussion, and I'll reread the posts shortly. I'm also thinking of opening the thread to senior members once the post count has passed 50.

Orphaned blocks are valid blocks which are not part of the main chain. They can occur naturally when two miners produce blocks at similar times or they can be caused by an attacker (with enough hashing power) attempting to reverse transactions.

516  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about Bitcoin with merit awards - block linkage in the blockchain on: June 30, 2018, 02:34:02 PM
Here we go with another merit giveaway thread. Once again the awards are to be given to new and junior members only. The thread will be self-moderated, and when one topic is answered, I'll add another topic. Spamming and very low value answers will be deleted. All replies must be original, and not copied from other sources. If you don't know the answer, then Google the question and read about it. When you think you understand the topic, then post the answer in your own words. So here is the first question.

The Bitcoin blockchain is constructed from a sequence of linked blocks. Please explain how the blocks are linked

Thread restarted because i forgot to make it self-moderated. The merit awards will be in the range of 1 - 5 based on the comprehensiveness ofyour answers.

each block contains a reference to the previous block, that's why it's called "chain"
517  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: If bitcoin gets mass adopted, must we use our mobiles to buy? on: June 30, 2018, 01:41:23 PM
Reading this thread a question comes up to my mind.

If in the future, you can pay with bitcoin almost everywhere, how are you going to pay? The safest way to store your coins is to use a hardware or paper wallet (properly created). But in order to pay for a coffee at the coffee shop you can’t use it, unless you carry your laptop or tablet everywhere.

Using your mobile isn’t safe. At least as safe as using hardware or paper wallets. So, how do you think it will be done? Transferring just small amounts to your mobile? Maybe hardware wallets will have a mobile version?

I think the best solutions will be hardware wallets for mobile like this xeeda.io or terminals like this kinekt.technology

but anyway you can't pay a coffee with btc, I'd spend some doge or stellar instead, due to fees  Tongue
518  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Temple Run Coin Be Converted To Bitcoin? on: June 30, 2018, 01:43:48 AM
Hello House, I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I have been wondering if there is a way temple's run coin can be converted to bitcoin.
if that is not possible, is there any game out there that coins from the game can be converted to bitcoin??
thanks for your response

I don't think so.. otherwise a lot of people would be here inviting us to join temple's run  Grin
519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin 🌟 on: June 30, 2018, 01:41:04 AM
What is the best technology for cryptocurrency now? Or you can tell me better topic for this questions?

Any currency aiming for mass adoption should solve the problem of scalabitlity and be suitable for micropayments. Stellar Platform is pretty fast and fees are low, I also like the wallets / decentralized exchanges - stellarterm,  stellaport, interstellar..- it's easier to trade any token on network paying low fees. that's why it's one of my favorites right now.
520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people treat BTC as ponzi scheme? on: June 30, 2018, 01:22:01 AM
because actually many ponzi schemes are related to bitcoin mining, 'vip btc clubs' and unfortunately people can't see the difference.
