We have had people ask about building private messaging systems with DisLedger proving that the messages hadn't been altered. It would be a modern version of a notary public and certified-mail system. That would be a situation where individuals would run DisLedger's technology directly.
Did anything come of people coming to you for this in particular? They just have been looking at the idea for a few weeks, so hopefully they will go ahead and build something out. Sounds like it has potential, I hope they decide to work on it. Can you disclose the company behind that?

Will you try to inhibit token volatility? If so, what methods would you use?

Great suggestion okspam! We've had multiple video creators that teach students new languages inquire about accepting ACAD. A big goal of the ACAD Token is to allow online creators and educators to accept payments regardless of their platform. Youtube, Udemy, Coursera, Google Hangout, and Bloggers have been our biggest platforms for creators so far. New creators on different platforms have been reaching out daily! Would you ever consider providing a platform for remote education? Maybe a cam to cam study space with tools for learning like a digital blackboard and such.
It would be a lot easier to allow them to use preexisting platforms, and just handle the transactions, but I think there could be more money to be made by providing the environment also. Once you've gained trust of those in the field, have a membership fee setup and give them a 'virtual classroom' for a flat monthly rate. Anyway, just a crazy idea of mine.

Can you please post a comparison between this and Decent? I prefer your project, but I want to see your take as well.
Decent is a good project, but there are a few key differences: Upfiring strictly focuses on file-sharing. The app allows files to move freely between 2 or more peers - and the solidity smart contracts, which manage the token, distribute UFR tokens when appropriate. Users of our platform earn tokens when others download their files. DECENT is a protocol for applications and publishing of content. Decent itself doesn't do anything as an application - it simply allows others to build apps on top of it. It functions similarly to an Ethereum/Solidity development framework. It is a solid project in and of itself, but definitely different than Upfiring. I appreciate your answer. Since Decent is distinctly different from Upfiring, is there any other competition which are much more like Upfiring? I'm curious who your biggest competitor is, and what differentiates you. I think vTorrent is the only competitor, but I don't know were this project stands at the moment. What we need is an anonymous encrypted P2P sharing plattform to compete with one-click-hoster. Just judging by vTorrent's website they don't see very dedicated.

Very interesting partnership. You're going to be using machine learning to more accurately predict betting odds? Yes, we will be. We've tested it over a number of sports, and SaberCruncher has been doing it for years now. It is one reason that we can confidently offer our industry low 1% margin. There will be more articles expounding on this coming out in the next week so that you guys can see why we are confident in our abilities to produce. You need all the advantages you can get with such a low margin. What if it turns out to be unprofitable? Would you consider bumping to 1.5%? Pretty sure that still puts you below everyone else.

Any talks planned in the near future from the DisLedger team? I'd love to see you at one of the conventions.
Hi DisLedger will be presenting on a panel with R3, Axoni, and Digital Assets Holdings at Fintech Week held by the Institute of International Economic Law on October 18-20. IIEL website with informationOther participants will be regulators, financial institutions, and investors from multiple countries. Do you know if this is open to the public? I can't find much info on the website. I think you have to RSVP. The RSVP could just be to reserve a spot in case the venue is full.

Was there announced any collaboration between this project and those that try to do identity management on Ethereum (like uPort)?

I can't seem to find any mention of a bounty program in this thread. Am I just somehow missing it, or do you not plan on having one?

Any idea how much is premined in total at this point?

Will you release tokens on the exchanges? When? Are you already in talks with some exchange?

Am I right to suspect that Ripple wouldn't want this to succeed?
Yes we've talked to Ripple about the technology and it worried them. They have a very limited capability and after all these years of trying they still haven't been able to cut into SWIFT's market share. DisLedger handles the same types of payments that Ripple does, but also can do massive numbers of IOT micropayments that Ripple cannot, and DisLedger supports capital markets clearing and settlement. Interesting. But all those micropayments would have to be between a few sides, right? You can't have too many sides transacting just a bit.

If you keep your phone unrooted and you use mostly standard apps on it, I don't think you have to worry about much. Also it would have to be well locked.
There's no way that half of the phones have keyloggers on them.
