EDIT: 6/3/2012
Prices updated, half off (for now).
502  Economy / Services / Editing Service on: June 03, 2012, 07:28:56 AM
I'm providing editing/proofreading services for .05 BTC per 500 words. I can measure the word-count myself and will round down to the nearest 250 in most cases.
Some errors I will be looking for include spelling errors, strangely-worded sentences, and misuse (or absence of) capitalization.
If you feel my services provided were not satisfactory, you can choose to pay me any amount that you deem reasonable.

Additionally, I can transcribe chatspeak (ie. lol dnt b dum im betr dan u) if it's readable. For now, this service will be provided for .05 BTC per 200 words. I'm willing to haggle on this price if you send me a PM. Thank you Grin .

Why pay $150 when I could pay $75?
507  Economy / Services / Transcribing For BTC on: May 27, 2012, 05:56:04 AM
So, to clarify, I have absolutely no experience in any field whatsoever. My typing speed varies from 60-90 WPM. Starting Monday, I will transcribe documents/PDFs or audio into raw text. Once I'm done, you can pay me however much you want in the form of Bitcoins. This is really about improving my typing speed by incentive. If you think you may be interested, please post. I just want a general idea of whether going through the trouble of starting this will be worth it.

My plan when this begins is to have a set amount of hours that I'm open. During these hours, people can send PDFs/documents/audio, I will type it as a .txt file, and it will be sent back within a reasonable time window. The buyer can choose to give me whatever amount of BTC they feel was worth the job, as long as it's not 0.00~.
508  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] nook 1'st edition. ereader on: March 17, 2012, 06:33:57 PM
18 Bitcoins roughly translated to about 95 dollars. The second edition nook, new, sells for $100 dollars and on the B&N website, it is $80 with free shipping (they sent a $20 off coupon via email to subscribed users). I am in no way saying that a transaction like this would be a rip-off, but basically what you are asking is $95 for an outdated, used, rooted nook when a new nook is currently available for 80.

512  Economy / Services / I Need Someone To Help Me Install Mo' Creatures Minecraft Mod Over Skype (Mac) on: November 05, 2011, 04:31:38 AM
I'm dying to install the mod for Minecraft known as Mo'Creatures, and I hate the fact that everything I do screws it up. Before helping me, do your research, because I won't pay you if I can't get the mod successfully installed with your help.
How this works is I will enter screen sharing mode on Skype and you lead me through the steps in order to install it properly, as well as uninstalling the remnants from my recent attempts. If I have to delete everything, I'm ok with that. I don't need backups, and I don't have any valuable save data.

Payment in the form of either Bitcoins or Moneypak.

1. I have Mac OS X Lion. NEVER say "Ok, it works like this on PC, so just follow the steps for Mac." That's bullshit, installing it on Mac is practically polar opposite to installing it on PC, and requires different steps.
2. A problem I've experienced is that I have the newest version of Archive Utility, which won't make minecraft.jar a folder. There is an alternative to access the folder with the use of Terminal, but it might be what's screwing me up. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, look it up.
3. I have the newest version of Minecraft, if that makes any difference in the process.
4. Give me an offer on the payment you wish to receive. I won't accept if it's too overpriced, so don't be a douche.
5. Attempt to explain the steps to me like I have no idea what I'm doing, because I don't. You provide the links to EVERYTHING. If I need something else installed, give me the link to it.

After finishing the steps and closing the terminal, I will open Minecraft and make a new world. Please do not leave Skype during this time. I will attempt to make a medallion. If this fails to work, you either try again or you won't get your Bitcoin/money.
513  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying 20 BTC on: October 31, 2011, 12:21:13 AM
Welcome to the Bitcoin Forum, Amanda Smiley . I see you've met the douchebags (all of us).

People are generally very careful about their Bitcoin trades, because it's a perfect opportunity for scamming. Scammers are caught every day on this website, and the golden rule is to never use Paypal because someone can claim they didn't receive their BTC (in this case, you). Above that, you're asking for someone's bank info and you're a newbie. My advice is to build up a good reputation so that people will know if you are trustworthy. That way, if you do scam, we know where you live Smiley .

10 BTC?
515  Economy / Goods / Re: FS: (x2) AT&T Pantech Link Cell Phone on: October 27, 2011, 04:10:08 AM
Trusted seller. I'm not going to bitch about it- we had a transaction and it went smoothly. Simple at that.
The phone being sold is a very nice phone, especially for about 30 bucks (10 BTC). Don't mess with the buttons, though. They will permanently pop out of place and then you will have a ruined phone.
516  Economy / Goods / Re: BitGem: The return! on: October 21, 2011, 01:04:58 AM
Did business with this guy, and I can verifiably say this is NOT a douchebag business.
Gems arrived very quickly, and he kindly answered all of my annoying questions. Definitely top-notch and worth ordering.
517  Economy / Economics / Re: Is There Any Hope Left? on: October 19, 2011, 10:48:31 PM
Yeah, I'm mental because I make profits.  Roll Eyes

Dude, I'm making money of mining Bitcoins and selling them. Why should I stop? With these new rigs, I'll just make more money.

Troll, or a complete moron? Cast your votes.
We have to make a new name for him...trolon.

Lovin' the debate. Please continue, I feed off of threads like these.

But I'm not done yet. I'm going to have more money, and when I do, this thread will be active again.
519  Economy / Economics / Is There Any Hope Left? on: October 19, 2011, 06:13:42 AM
I'm going to make this short, because I'm more interested in reading your opinions rather than sharing mine. I'm sure most of you have invested in Bitcoins- and I consider even $50 an investment (though a small one). You could have invested when 10,000 Bitcoins were worth $25, or when a Bitcoin was worth about a buck. But do you regret not cashing in your investment earlier? Even I didn't expect the value of a Bitcoin to plummet this low, and despite getting rid of all my rigs and finally uninstalling both the RPC and Diablo miners from my main computer I still check MtGox each day in hopes that the economy will get much better. Then again, I'm a kid, so why should my opinion be taken seriously? The point that I'm trying to get at is, Bitcoins have been drastically falling in value ever since the CosbyCoin incident. At this point, do you intend to sell your investment and make what tiny profit (if any) you can get, or continue "believing" in Bitcoin?
As long as Silk Road is up, I'm sure Bitcoins will still be around regardless of their value. But I can just expect that one day I'll come back here and the whole community will be dead (metaphorically, of course).

One more thing, can someone explain to me how this ISN'T a ponzi scheme? I could have become a millionaire by selling Bitcoins right now if I had known about them from the start.

And finally, how do you think the BTC economy will influence other cryptocurrencies? Or as I call them, knock-offs.
