375 $ difference between Bitstamp and MtGox. That's 173% cheaper. I think it's good time to buy. In case of banckrupcy you are screwed and it won't matter if you have USD or BTC - or am I wrong???

So, what's the right price for btc?
This is an interesting option. I'd like that to happen, but as someone who holds some millions of euros in several accounts, spread all over - what would be the incentive to buy bitcoin instead of gold, or real estate for that matter...
It's harder to smuggle gold out in the event of capital controls and damn impossible for land. If you have to pay property tax or are subject to use restrictions, you never really own land anyway. But don't forget that rich participate in writing new laws and they will create few loop-holes. Rich own things - mostly international businesses and transfering things will never be a problem for them. Beside politics is in bed with them.

Whoever dumped all the way to 102 on BTC-e the other day is:
A) A troll B) Very stupid
Or knows something that you don't.

As Bitstamp battles against these attacks, it’s also worth noting that the Slovenian exchange is not listed as a money services business with FINCEN, the U.S. agency that registers money transmitters — even though it accepts US customers.
Frankly, i'm more worried about this issue highlighted above. Where to store fiat when coins becomes cheap..?
I wouldn't called it Slovenian anymore, because they moved their head office to London where are registered as LTD. But you are very correct about not being registered with FINCEN - I predict that this will be huge problems in the future as FBI might want to arrest CEO of Bitstamp, I am pretty sure they will find connections to money laundering.

So many bad news and btc is holding so well.
2K BTC Wall @ 650 on stamp, don't know if we'll go through that.
Wait till everyone is aware of this news... It pretty much means btc is not ready for the wide world.
MtGox did not said anything about how many bitcoins were stolen this way - I am assuming this must have happened, how else could they know about this issue?
Well that is bad news - can core developers confirm this?
Why people are selling on MtGox - do they believe that they'll be able to withdraw USD when they cannot withdraw BTC?
There's no other logilcal explanation.

Bitstamp is becoming new gox. Another exchange will die soon.
Someone on Stamp needs to either reconfigure their bots or learn how to trade. Never market buy into a crash. Thats just idiotic.
Maybe his intention was to stop sell off - ah, these bitcoin millionaires.
True, if you call "smart" money people who trust their holdings to others and pay hefty fees for this.
Also I removed mtgox from my graphs. It seems they trade with fake fiat they don't really have in backup which causes paradox price movements not confirmed with other exchanges.
This is unfortunately a likely serious problem... And I know it's more fundamental than TA, but it is going to be a very powerful influence when Gox blows up. Nope, this is common knowledge now (for almost a year) and if it happens won't have as much of an effect on a price as everyone is expecting. Everybody is aware of this thing, even newbies - meaning it is priced in. I think you should be more worried about countries banning btc, lagging development of btc features and the fact that a few years went by and btc ecosystem is still full of idiots, speculators and scammers.

Take the 2011 "subtrend bear market" for example; a 98% drop meant that a very skilled (and very lucky) trader would be able to increase his longer term coin holdings by a tenfold if not more. Hell, even a noob trader like me would be able to at the very least double or triple his amount of coins with relative ease by just selling early on and buying back later. I don't think so, only in hindsight everything looks so easy. I don't think many traders were able to increase their btc holdings during the 2011 bear market, or at least not for long before they sold again. +1 It's easy to trade when you are certain about direction of the market. Trading in 2013 was very easy. But there will come the time, when old habits won't work anymore and most of the profits of so called "traders" will be gone.

what is happening ? the price every weekend rise a bit than drop back to where it was for 2 weeks now Haven't you heard, bitcoin is so passe, marijuana stocks are the next big thing!
Oh well, nothing new in bitcoin economy. Still bunch of speculants, scammers and idiots.
1 BTC bet. huge sell offs happen and price goes below 750 on gox with the next 48 hours??
Ill take that bet. Shake New thread required. I would take that bet too, but since there is a 0% chance he would pay, some sort of escrow is needed. Since when you have such a low faith in bitcoiners? Aren't we bitcoiners people with high moral standards?

I panic bought at 799.5 on btc-e. What was I thinking?!
Congrats, you nailed the top Just get away from the computer, don't sell.
