Thursday update:  we have successfully downloaded half the block chain.

But ran out of disk space. We have a new hard drive on order from Newegg.

I'm pretty sure they bought one of these , it's a good match for their new trading engine.

Let's make it clear - nobody has no bloody idea where the heck it is heading right now, lol

Nothing that special , most of the times we are clueless about where the hell bitcoin is heading and why.
Just enjoy the spooky ride Smiley))
5003  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2014, 02:37:38 PM
There is a lack of locomotives in here.

We can only have 2 locomotives per day until Mtgox lifts their limits Smiley))))

Karpeles did another interview with the media (wall street journal):

https://twitter.com/misssaxbys/status/435375058983198720

Is he going to blame bitcoin again?  Cheesy

Probably bitcoin , the bank of Japan , Obama and the Jamaican bobsled team.

Once withdrawn from Gox there should be no need to dump elsewhere as you already profited from the low buy price, still i guess the fear of others blind dumping may spark a race and bring down the price.
Am i missing something?

People panic selling because there might be panic selling? No, such a thing would never happen.

Using "people" and not "sheep" ? You're in a good mood today I assume Smiley

Believe it or not, i usually am. It's just the group behaviour of people that drives me nuts. As you may have noticed.

Well , this is one day you shouldn't really be watching this forum , or you're going to be the star in Ice Age 6 or 7.
I'm worried myself of what this day might bring.

Western exchangers having almost the same volume as the Chinese ones on Sunday?
Interesting.

Does it bother anyone else that MtGox used the wrong "effected" in their press release?

I missed that-- yes, bothered, and a bit sad.

Edit: Title reads: "Maintenance Announcement Effecting Bitcoin transfers![sic]"

Did you see that they corrected on the website news?

 Cool They are watching us...

Holy shit... they are watching us  Shocked

That means the guys working at the website are fully awake .. but still no news . And that ain't good.

Maybe they are killing time on a bitcoin subforum...  Cheesy

Mark... if you're watching...

Change the "affected" back to "effected" if withdrawals will be functioning in the next few days...

Just between us  / wink / wink

Or better , jump from Tokyo Tower if they won't .
Same wink / wink / much lol.

In fact, if I could get an instant deposit on Gox, I would deposit all of my liquid assets tomorrow.

I just transferred money this morning and it showed up in my Gox account 15 minutes later (Japan Net Bank method). I would send more but I'm already balls deep... would be a big hit if they actually did run with our money (which I don't think is going to happen but...). If withdrawals haven't been restarted in a day or two and the price is down around $200 I may send more...

If withdrawals aren't restarted in two days , you could have a chance at some 50$ coins.
5011  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2014, 01:37:02 AM
Now really , all the exchangers going up and down the same time is getting creepy.
5012  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2014, 01:28:35 AM
I cannot believe stamp is just following gox like this. This is pissing me off. I thought this was over.

I love this , all the exchangers are acting like they are in the same orchestra Smiley))
If they would get in a 5$ price difference range it would be even funnier.
5013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2014, 01:03:40 AM
While we wait for the shitstorm, enjoy this oddly satisfying gif

I suddenly feel the need for a coffee and it's 3 am here Smiley))))
5014  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2014, 12:41:13 AM
False cho choo as it seems. Wonder why all the exchangers reacted...
I guess we won't see any real movement before some news from mtgox staff.

You assume that no dump is happening after you get your coins out of mtgox.
You bough at 300 , but if you sell at 600 on bitstamp the first and some sheep follow you , you might get to buy again at 300 Smiley again x2 profit
5016  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2014, 12:16:40 AM
That' why everybody should come here only full of beer.
<image here>
Oh... you said full of beer. I misheard you.

You misheard me , but you still followed my advice Smiley))). That ain't a pic a sober guy would post.
5017  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 16, 2014, 11:58:29 PM
Yay we going up... For no fucking reason... again... So stupid...

Get used to , we've gone up so many times with no reason , and downside also it's nothing that special anymore.

Was hoping for cheap coins but it is totally boring @stamp
If you think bitstamp is boring, take a look at campbx. It's like the switzerland of bitcoin exchanges.

Wow , that's one nice straight line graph  oh w8! 660? wtf?

To sleep or not to sleep?  Shocked Shocked Shocked

When is Gox coming out with news?

I'm willing to bet that today is not the day for a press release.
5020  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 16, 2014, 11:40:08 PM
If Gox goes up now would it not only be because they are prepping to withdrawl coins and sell anywhere else? Everybody else better be prepping some dollars to exploit this non-Gox dump coming up here soon.

The uptick is indicative of new fiat hitting Gox on Monday morning. I just sent $3,000 not 15 minutes ago and it is now sitting in my account.  Grin

Fortune favours the brave... Good luck!
Stupidity is often mistaken for bravery.

True heroes die in battle Smiley
