I deleted your thread because it was a duplicate of your Alt. Cryptocurrencies service thread. Besides alt coin services don't belong in Gambling. BTW, I'm a patroller (I can moderate newbie content globally).

It was posted on the Gambling thread and not the Alt-Cryptos thread because it is a Gambling thread... It's actually a lot more related to Bitcoin than third party websites are. Yes if you will 'XCP' is traded as an alt-currency on exchanges - but if we get technical here all XCP are is embedded Blockchain data.  As opposed to what the millions of Centralized websites that have absolutely nothing to do with the Blockchain and are only on this forum because they accept Bitcoin as a method of payment?

And more specifically  https://xcpfeeds.info is directly and solely related to making Bets/Contracts on the Bitcoin Blockchain.

All altcoins, including those operating on other coins' blockchains, are considered as an alt coin discussion. That includes XCP and the well known Mastercoin.

Edit: Badbear beat me to it, but it still stands.

I agree they don't count, which is why they should be forcefully censored with a permanent ban. Once again, when a person comes here and sees people using words like "kike, spic, chink, nigger, cracka", I somehow think that such behavior MIGHT look really bad and leave a horrible impression on both these forums and cryptocurrency in general.

Premise #1: We are here to help the world by finding the best idea for every single aspect of cryptocurrency AND/OR many of us are here to get rich.
Premise #2: If you had an employee at your company leaving comments on your website with racial slurs then you would fire that person immediately without any thought given, unless you were stupid or hated making money.
Conclusion: Users that spout racial slurs, even one time, should be permanently banned from this website and every cryptocurrency website.

This is not an opinion. It is a logical fact about how you run a business. Maybe you didn't notice, but segregation ended a looooong time ago. Now go learn how to run a business and then come back and apologize for being so ignorant about the subject.

This forum prides itself on free speech, be it from an idiot or a genius, just like Bitcoin prides itself on economic freedom. You're suggesting to take that freedom away and give the authorities the decision making. See the problem?

You forgot the main purpose of these forums: expressing your opinion about Bitcoins, cryptocurrencies and other topics without censorship.

This is not a business, it's a community based on freedom of opinion. The main purpose of the forum isn't to make money - it is to let people have discussions amongst themseleves.

No, that's an opinion. A fact is something proven by evidence. Logic isn't evidence (some people think the 5 second rule for food is logical  Cheesy), clearly defined rules are. And again, not a business.

5004  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting paid for signature space? on: July 04, 2014, 02:54:51 PM
Its bad practice i think, i got only sites that i like, noone paying me for this. Community should be community, not pursuers (posters) for profit

Why not get the best of both worlds, and profit by advertising a business that's good for the community?
Gambling websites are an important contribution to the relevance of cryptocurrencies, since dealing with fiat on them can be quite inconveniant.

Signature ad does have bring some advantages and some disadvantages to the forum community.
IMO. the main advantage is that it allows bitcoin business (casinos, exchanges, mixers, miners, etc) to get advertised more easily; while the biggest disadvantage is that it encourages spam and pointless posts.

Yeah that's true, but most of them don't pay the pointless posts though.
However, sig campaign organizers usually can't review every post every participant has written, thus many spammers still thrive... until we get them Grin.
5005  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How can I start my own escrow service? on: July 04, 2014, 02:49:49 PM
Just do some trades first, gain some rep and then consider starting your own escrow. Also being higher forum rank always helps.
5006  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin Announcements on: July 04, 2014, 02:03:16 PM
I respect your opinion about Altcoins in general, but since the bitcointalk.org staff included Altcoins for some reason, we should be able to talk about these in this very forum without beeing offended like "you are wrong here gtfo"

This here is a subforum where we talk about bitcointalk.org forum (Meta). Since the altcoinsubforum belongs to this, I think here is the right place to talk about it.

Coin announcements should be moved out of the "Announcement" forum as soon as they are released or the topic should at least be closed.

Sorry if I came out a bit rude, I respect everyone's opinion and try to acknowledge it when making some descisons. Announcements (Altcoins) is made to contain alt coin/alt coin service announcements just like Service announcements is meant to keep all Bitcoin site threads (off-site services). The whole Alt. Cryptocurrencies board was made to contain all Altcoin discussions in general.

Some people enjoy learning about new coins or keeping up to date about their favorite ones. For this reason they go to the Announcements (Altcoins). Some despise/dislike/want to ignore such coin announcements (especially when there are dozens of nearly identical coins coming out every day), thus they ignore the Announcements (Altcoins) and discuss about well know altcoins in the main Alt. cryptocurrencies board or in it's Mining and Marketplace child boards.

You see: there is a huge user base that dislike new Alrcoins for one reason or another, be it lack of innovation, untrustworthy devs or verall flaws in new protocols, and they can easily ignore those kind of coin threads alltogether by simply staying away from the Announcements (Altcoins) board.
5007  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin Announcements on: July 04, 2014, 11:29:52 AM
You might never have seen, but here at BITcointalk.org indeed exists some space for ALTCOINS.
Proof:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
Yes, I do know: 90% of spam I moderate is from that board and it's child boards. That subforum was made to contain all alt coins in one place, rather than letting them pollute the main boards. When I was emphasizing the name, I meant that alt coin discussions do not belong in the main board.

In fact, most moderators are in favor of completely removing alt coin discussions (that being the Alt. Cryptocurrencies board) from this forum. My opinion on this matter is kind of neutral though: if they keep the discussions in one board, it's not much of a problem.
5008  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin Announcements on: July 04, 2014, 10:22:28 AM
No. Notice the name: BitcoinTalk.org, not AltCoinTalk.org.
5009  Other / Meta / Re: Trust Abuse.. Potential Legal Ramifications. on: July 03, 2014, 03:05:25 PM
Trust feedback is unmoderated, except for some cases where it can be considered obvious spam (advertising, lots of identical feedback, random words/chars).

Think this kind of thing should be made a exeption of this that could cause legal ramifications. This type of shit will drive users away.

rhandom 0: -0 / +0(0) 2014-03-27 127.00000000  I was able to crash his site in 30 seconds. Check the logs... error 500 and 503. I also ran a little SQL injection and got his database name. An easy hack... but hey I think I'm going to make a site where people can advertise their ponzis without all the static interference. And I will offer offshore hosting so they can do it without issue. It's all thanks to you, we owe you Smiley and it will be great to run without interference. yeah... you see I have an offshore Panama website host and a few sites.. going to approach the ponzi sites about transfering their domains. Guess maybe you should play inside your league, not against the big boys. Oh don't worry I wont tell anyone you offered pedophile pics to certain members for extra btc deposits.

This guy (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=327869) posted almost 200 posts within a day, really sick... Cry

Looks like a mod have read your post, and nuke the account.  Smiley

Another moderator brought the account to our attention and after quite some work, we managed to take care of both the user and his posts.

Good to know that. Thanks to the whole mod and staff team. Smiley

EDIT: Just found some terrible spamming in the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=673865.40
That's not really spam as long as it remains in the Games and rounds board.

But posting 20-30 guesses, in 1 thread in same day is really spam
Yes, it is - didn't notice it was the same user. I've brough the spammer to the attention of Global mods.

Not that I know of any, but forget that site - many complaints about not receiving payment. If I were you, I'd try googling around or searching in the Mining software board.

I checked the messages you sent me, both of them fail to verify, including the one you sent me this morning. You broke it by adding extraneous spaces, <> symbols, and/or bold tags. I took the information provided and made the message myself properly, and it verifies fine, I sent you the correctly formatted message, though I don't know if theymos is going to bother reading your messages now.

If you format the message properly, you should be able to copy the entire message directly and verify it. I would recommend everyone test your own message before sending it. https://brainwallet.github.io/#verify If you copy your message there, and nothing happens when you hit verify, your message is not correct. I don't recommend you use their tool to sign though.

This is a properly formatted signed message, and can be copied directly to verification field and will pass, try it yourself.

Also, when sending PMs with a signed message put the message and the signature in separate code fields(e.g.
some text
(just without spaces at the end of the word "code") ). Different browsers see the text differently otherwise (additional new lines, etc.). I experienced this myself once.
5016  Other / Meta / Re: who can help us to ban these spammers? on: July 02, 2014, 06:39:34 PM
Well some folks think that they can get higher activity by spamming stuff. I'm somehow aware of that problematic, but i don't know how to help against it. Most of those problematic users are in signature campaign also, so they think they can make good money by writing bullshit all around this forum.
The banned account probably was a bot as his posts were copied from other posts in the same thread. These type of spammers are harder to deal with since there's not really much effort in letting a script run.

Please, ban SxC and users who seem to be him or are affiliated with him.

An ignore feature doesn't automatically make terrorists disappear.

This isn't a problem that will take care of itself.

It is our responsibility to have him eliminated.

He's not a terrorist, just an annoying user. If all of you ignore him, none of you that dislike him will see his posts. You could try contacting BadBear, malevolent or other Global mods and explain the situation.
5019  Other / Meta / Re: My Original Account (HeroC) Has been Hacked! on: July 01, 2014, 08:55:18 PM
Anyway, use like the strongest passwords you can think of, nothing is a sure thing in this world.

Better use the strongest passwords you can remember.
I have seen quite a number of persons forgetting their "ultra strong password" used in their bitcoin wallet...
There's such thing like writing it down and putting a copy in several secure places you know (in case one becomes unaccessible (fire, collapse, etc.)). You don'rpt need to remember it then.
5020  Other / Meta / Re: My Original Account (HeroC) Has been Hacked! on: July 01, 2014, 03:36:53 PM
Do you have any idea how you were hacked (passwords on multiple sites, easy passwords, phishing site)? Just wondering how so many accounts are getting hacked recently.
