5001  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Asics Technologoes - 6 THS Bitcoin Miner - First PICS! on: August 12, 2014, 05:38:15 PM

As it related to sweating bullets: If I have not received anything by the end end of September I'll be filing suit in a Danish court against MAT, but I highly doubt it will come to that.

Fortunately for me a business contact of mine does a lot of legal work throughout Europe and I already have the name of an Attorney in Denmark to represent me if it comes to that. I'm kind of like Ronald Reagan when he referred to the Russians. I do a lot of leg work on companies and individuals up front before forking over money : my motto is: Trust but verify.

In the meantime - life goes on and it's Friday here an I'll be boating on bay this weekend with a cocktail in hand, not worrying about this stuff!

But why a Danish court, it is a dutch based company?

You can sue all you want, doesn't matter if they've skimmed the money which in this sort of time frame they almost certainly have. Or that it will cost you 2x as much in legal fees to even get a judgement on how much you lost, nevermind even attempt to enforce that judgement on the money which now doesn't exist.

tldr, I'm sorry.

Anyone have a db reading/est for a fully assembled miner?
great question, I'd like to know as well...

Yes, too quiet to actually care. Because BE200 chips don't care about getting hot, the central air core comes out hairdryer hot, which allows the fan to run nice and slow. Nice and slow means nice and quiet. I was sure my unit wasn't running until I saw the 900GH on the interface. Quieter than an S1 yet double the power Wink

HD pictures if anyone hasn't seen them:

5004  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: August 12, 2014, 04:44:44 PM
Without re-reading for the 50th time.... Smiley

Need to power 3x S1 dual blade *not* overclocked. May overclock in the future.

Corsair CX500 1x per S1 will do the trick.
Corsair CX750 1x per S1 will do the trick, and is worth the few extra bucks over the 500. Yes?

thanks dogie, you are invaluable.

You can use 2x CX750s, or CXMs. Or if you're really thinking for the long term, 1x 1x ax1200i will power all 3 just about, but will give you longer term flexibility and warranty.

Without having to scroll through this thread can anyone please recommend a rear / second fan for S1?

You'll need a 4 pin fan with split pin design, I don't have any P/Ns off the top of my head sorry. That is, if you want to power it off the board. If not, any generic 12CM fan will do. You'll need some 4cm+ bolts and nuts as well.

Needs updated. Theymos just added a new rank Legendary.

Its already in the OP.
5008  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R3-Box Setup [HD] on: August 12, 2014, 01:24:45 AM
I used the upgrade.sh feature and am now on .94, i had the first image released for the rk-box though originally which has tons of info compared to what i am seeing now, i should also note i have 2 sporadic crashes over night, they are only momentary by the looks of it, but enough time to register on the charts, which has been the case since the originals, this is an issue with the pi or its software though as i have another smaller unit (just 2 rk blades) strapped together running on a computer, and they do great 2 percent rejects max around 240ghs average with no overclock and no random crashing, so i am going to assume (in my noobiness wisdom lol) that its something with the pi software being used, as the pi themselves are great little things

On .94 I still have reject rate and individual blade hash rates, can you show me a screenshot?
5009  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R3-Box Setup [HD] on: August 12, 2014, 12:15:49 AM
Hey dogie, just thought i would say keep up the good work mate, you make life a bit easier for alot of people out there, and dont often get thanked for it, so cheers mate

Seperate issue, has any one else noticed that rockminers web interface has done nothing but remove information, there was a problem with HW errors so they removed that stat, and said it was fixed, then specific blades where outperforming others in terms of rejects, so they removed that stat, then the Rasp pi kept rebooting all the time so they removed the uptime clock, and said that was fixed, i personally think it a bit strange that they say our problem is fixed with the new images but we cant check and see because they remove the info related to the original problem, i would kike to make it clear at this point that even if i cant see it on there web interface, i know it is still happening, according to my pool stats nothing has changed at all over 3 image updates, any one else seeing this happening

What's the latest image you're using?

Thanks for this list.  I'd argue with Bitmine: "Refund Issues? Some 5/10"

Bitmine has only made some token refunds to give people false hope.  The majority appear to not have received refunds:

http://www.bitminerefund.com

I know people after me in the queue have been refunded.  They are picking select users to refund as a stall tactic.  They've told many users on this forum they will be refunded "in 2 weeks", and we haven't been.  I've been told that 2 or three times now.  My refund was due May 5th. Many clients fall into the same category as this.

This falls into the category of:
"1/10   = Yes - refunds significantly delayed or not being processed at all. Includes stall tactics."

Some refunds have been paid, so that's the category they fit in to. I have no control over this, that's how the system works and it applies to everyone.

Don't look at refund sites like this. People rush to get submitted but will rarely go back to the site to say they've been refunded. They have refund issues, they've also refunded some people.

That's fair enough.  If you have a 10 point scale, why not take advantage of it?  They've paid some refunds, but they've used stall tactics again and again.  Many of us have been told repeatedly we'll be paid in 2 weeks.  Wouldn't a rating of 2 or 3 be more accurate?

A system like this requires as few options as possible to remove the human from the system and let the system do the ranking. The system is already considered as too 'opinionised' as it is (even though there is are opinions at all), adding more options would only feed the trolls.

5012  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: August 11, 2014, 10:52:26 PM
I added a new Legendary membergroup with a yellow coin. I am completely open to the possibility of changing both the name and the coin color if people don't like them. In particular, if people find that threads are now too "glittery" with all of the yellow coins, I will remove the color or make it more subtle. If you think that some other color would work better, download the legendary.gif image, modify it with your color, and post your modified GIF image. Don't change anything but the color of that one region in the image, though. (I make these images by opening the image in GIMP, selecting the colored region, and then using the Colorize tool.)

To make things more fun, the Legendary membergroup has no universal activity requirement. You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity, but the exact point in this range at which you become Legendary is random per user.

Also, I made it so that Staff have the coin icons for their post group instead of a fixed 5 coins.

Then Theymos is retiring from the forum?

No.

This is officially a conspiracy to prevent me being the top rank. Every time I get close, POW, rule change, 4th time now xD Another 250 to 500 days + inflation again.

5013  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: August 11, 2014, 10:44:00 PM
Thanks for the great guide Dogie Smiley

Do you think it would it be ok to run 3 x s1's off 2 x Corsair CX750's?

Yeah, run 1.5 S1s off each.
5014  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R3-Box Setup [HD] on: August 11, 2014, 10:12:26 PM
Hey Dogie, any inside news on the little 110gh machine that rockminer is releasing at the end of August that runs on an Xbox 360 PSU? I'm interested in this machine. Thanks.

Not that I know of, sorry.
5015  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmine Coincraft Desk V2 Setup [HD] on: August 11, 2014, 09:05:12 PM
Great guide!
One thing the CCD misses is the ability to do anything through SSH, everything is done on the web interface.
(e.g. monitor cgminer output, install other linux utilities like gcc, noip2 etc.)
If anyone could find a way to do this would be great..

I found the online interface pretty comprehensive though, although yeah SSH is always wanted.

Ignore function doesn't delete people, especially when they accuse you in your own thread of being biased (and then get quoted by someone who isn't ignored)... Anyway, I'll let him do his thing.

All I see here is someone that can't accept constructive criticisms as evidenced in your thread by a significant number of people.

What you still don't seem to understand is that when 20 people have different opinions, you can't make 20 people happy. 5-10 of those will not 'get their way' and will stomp and cry that you're not listening because you simply can't please everyone when you can only provide one solution. I don't think this thread will teach you that as a 'good/bad' system is as basic as it gets.
5020  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive XBTec Pacific 1250 Setup [HD] on: August 11, 2014, 02:42:22 PM
Thanks a lot for this review! It's well done, as always and gives us a good overview over the new XBTec miner! Do you have any guess how many miners they're able to churn out every week? Can anyone make an educated guess?

I don't think anyone ever can. There isn't really bottlenecks to manufacture any more, chips are in hand, PCBs are easy, assembly is easy...
