5041  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if war comes? More and more WWIII signals on: January 02, 2014, 08:55:37 PM
Yeah,

happy new year to all. There are many signals out there that an epic WWIII is coming. America is bankrupt, China and Russia are getting stronger and stronger. The US Dollar gets more and more worthless.

From what I´ve readed is that America is planing the next big war. And this will be THE war that kills most life on the earth. Only the elite and rich people will survive.

America has built a belt over Russia and is installing more and more war machines over Europe.

America has ordered over 14 Million potassium iodide tablets wiche are used to protect from radiation. Tablets have to arrive till February 1st.

I´m not a pro and only translate what I´ve read on an german blog. But the future looks really really dark.

So, HODL? Or sell and get out of the war zone? Smiley

If partner is allowed, there will be ALOT of gay people if guess.

that i exactly the problem. no, don´t get me wrong: no problem with gay at all ( Kiss), but they will be a lot of people pretending if they could save $ 1000 this way. it will get very swampy if we go in this direction. in addition , it would cut the budget 50% since we would have to plan everything for the double number of attendants.
5054  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: December 27, 2013, 06:33:36 PM
no, this will be a silent hodling party.  Wink

I like that! Sit in silence and reflect on the bitcoin's wild years. Or not.

Is there a number of bookings somewhere? And what is the cutoff number?

20 tickets paid, 230 reservations, if we reach 100 tickets* it will take off, if not = 100% refund

uups, it just went to 21  Grin

*it will not be as bombastic as if it reaches 1000 guests, but with a $ 100 k budget it should still be cosy enough.

I work in Afghanistan as a military contractor. I make a lot of money with no expenses (my house back home is being rented for the amount of the mortgage payment).

Every paycheck gets converted to bitcoins.

You can run silkroad dealership right out of Afghanistan. Wonders of globalization + bitcoin Smiley

Not on a military base on a military network that monitors me more than the NSA monitors US citizens.

Edit: Am I the only one that feels a 2.5:1 reveler:hostess ratio is out of whack, any way you look at it?

gender distribution is a topic for some that needs to be taken care of.  hostesses would be an easy and reliable solution. 1:1ratio ? i check with promoters if this is possible.

what would you suggest ?

I've been struggling with how to answer this. In the end, I guess I just need to admit that I have no idea. I've never had call to plan an event such as this, so I have no experience upon which to draw.

It just struck me as odd. I could see an argument for ~1:1, and I could see an argument for ~10:1. Anywhere in between just seems 'off' to me.

Having said my piece, I'll withdraw from this sub-topic, as I have nothing further of value to add.

To the greater topic, however, I must have missed your answer to the direct question regarding whether or not there would be ~400 hostesses in attendance.

thx for honest reply. in my opinion several hundred hostesses would be a good start and reliable basis for solving the gender distribution issue. ideas like goats can add to this. the community decides. if everyone hates it we will not do it. it was my suggestion, cheech300 and bulleric didn't veto it.

A bunch of bitcoiners getting totally drunk together. I'd want to do this anytime!

Great. Since I don't drink, I guess I'll end up being the designated driver, piloting a jet full of drunks to wherever the hell it is you all call home.

As for the hostess issue, here's how you can save money, and still keep us happy:

as long as you are stripping, the party will be a success  Wink
