Heh, I didn't notice that. Perhaps it was changed within the past few minutes.

Yeah, I changed it.

if you hold the check and it clears then it is no longer reversible.  I'm trying to avoid the fee too

My understanding is that checks are theoretically reversible for 60-120 days. Maybe it's not easy to get your bank to reverse the check after a few days, but it's still reversible.

That's what Dwolla told Tradehill.

Dwolla uses ACH transfers.
5083  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 125 BTC for USD -- Market rate -- WU, US Wire, cash on: June 27, 2012, 12:09:49 AM
Checks and money orders are reversible.
5084  Other / Meta / Re: Anyone seen a black cat passing by? - forum template error on: June 27, 2012, 12:07:12 AM
And there we have it!  The question is, can you have threads be auto-watched when you reply to them?

That would be nice, but I don't know how to add new profile settings.
5085  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 125 BTC for USD -- Market rate -- WU, US Wire, cash on: June 26, 2012, 11:23:22 PM
Hi theymos, do you accept USD MtGox vouchers?

Sorry, no. I want to get the USD into my bank account, and MTGUSD is no better than BTC in that regard.
5086  Other / Meta / Watchlist on: June 26, 2012, 11:16:03 PM
I have added the much-requested "watchlist" feature. It's like "show new replies to your posts", but it only shows topics that you've chosen to watch, and you needn't have posted in the topic. I only added it to this forum's default theme, the SMF default theme, and BlackBox.

There is no listing of watched topics, and the only way to remove a watched topic from your list is to click "watch" again. Maybe I'll improve this later.

Sometime in the future I'll automatically remove all "sub" posts and convert them to watchlist entries. "Sub" posts are not allowed anymore. If you have any non-traditional "sub" posts, please delete them manually.

Tell me if there are any bugs.

Edit: new features:
- You can watch and unwatch topics you post to by using the checkbox in "additional options" when posting.
- You can have topics you post in be watched automatically by setting an option in your notification settings.
- You can move all topics you've posted in to your watchlist on this page.
- You can edit watchlist entries here.

Or could be just theymos implementing new stuff on the forum, dunno

Right.

Strange that there are nearly as many people who answered N/A for gender as females.

Do the cookies get deleted when you restart Firefox?

I don't think his account was hacked.

Thanks for sending me a copy, Matthew. It's great!
5092  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 125 BTC for USD -- Market rate -- WU, US Wire, cash on: June 25, 2012, 08:21:37 PM
Aren't wires still reversible?

No.
5093  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 125 BTC for USD -- Market rate -- WU, US Wire, cash on: June 25, 2012, 05:48:22 PM
You can exchange your Bitcoin BTC with Liberty Reserve (LRUSD), OKpay (OKUSD),  Perfect Money (PMUSD) and CashU credit at WMXchange.net. We are working to give you the possibility to sell your Bitcoin for cash by Western Union and this week we will allow that kind of orders. As soon as we will receive the order we will complete it in a few minutes. Visit our website www.wmxchange.net or to make an exchange order follow this link: http://www.wmxchange.net/exchange-e-currency.php.

I want to trade without a fee.
5094  Other / Meta / Re: SMF Bookmark Mod to avoid noisy "sub" posts on: June 25, 2012, 05:44:04 PM
That mod doesn't show a full view of topics like "show new replies to your posts" does. It just allows you to add topics to a simple list. There are no "new" buttons or a "last post" column, etc. Pretty useless.
5095  Other / Meta / Re: Ahahaha! Wooo! Moderators! on: June 25, 2012, 06:32:58 AM
Nope. Theymos and Patrick are AI bots, you didn't know that?

5097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Membergroups; or: Why do some users get colored coins under their names? on: June 24, 2012, 03:30:59 PM
Nice and clear explanation - one question (to the mods) - is there some technical reason why the colored *half* cannot apply to less than 5 coins (especially in regards to donators)?

(I think it might be just a bit more helpful if members who have only posted a few times but did donate BTC don't sport 5 coins)

I agree that that would be better, but SMF doesn't support it.

5099  Economy / Currency exchange / [Sold] Selling 125 BTC for USD -- Market rate -- WU, US Wire, cash on: June 23, 2012, 11:34:15 PM
I'm selling 125 BTC for USD at the market rate. I will accept Western Union, US wire transfers (not ACH transfers), or cash in the mail. You pay any transfer fees. I might accept other methods if the method is irreversible or you are very trustworthy. Smaller amounts (at least $20) are OK.
5100  Economy / Auctions / Advertise on this forum - Round 39 on: June 23, 2012, 11:16:39 PM
In order to collect more money for the creation of good forum software, the forum is selling ad space in the area beneath the first post of every topic page.

Ads this week will be allowed to contain any non-annoying HTML/CSS style. No images, JavaScript, or animation (no marquee or blinking). Ads must appear 3 or fewer lines tall in my browser. Ads will be prefixed with "Advertisement:". Ad text may not contain lies, misrepresentation, or inappropriate language. Ads may not link directly to any NSFW page. Ads may be rejected for other reasons.

There are 10 total ad slots which are randomly rotated. So one ad slot has a one in ten chance of appearing. Eight of the slots are for sale here.

The ad lasts 7 days starting from when I put it up.

Stats

Exact historical impression counts per slot:

Auction rules

Post your bids in this thread. Prices must be stated in BTC per slot. You must state the max number of slots you want. When the auction ends, the highest bidders will have their slots filled until all eight slots are filled.

So if someone bids for 8 slots @ 5 BTC and this is the highest bid, then he'll get all 8 slots. If the two highest bids are 8 slots @ 4 BTC and 1 slot @ 5 BTC, then the first person will get 7 slots and the second person will get 1 slot.

- When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled. You can put multiple bids in one post, however.
- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by 0.5.
- The bidding starts at 0.5.
- The auction end time is 20:00:00 on June 29, UTC. Countdown. (The end time may be extended -- see below.)
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slots filled first.
- Bids are considered invalid and will be ignored if they do not specify both a price and a max quantity, or if they could not possibly win any slots

If any valid bids occur less than 30 minutes before the auction end time, then the auction will be extended by 30 minutes. If any valid bids occur less than 30 minutes before the new end time, then the auction will be extended again, etc. The time will not extend beyond 6 hours total.

You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address. Otherwise your slot may be sold to someone else.
