How long does a report take to be taken care of? do you know if it has been seen too? 1st report I made today and it's still on 0%.
It really depends, as already mentioned, on several factors. Some reports can be handled by more mods, some by less. Also, don't worry about the percentage, it's more of a reminder of what kind of posts you should report rather than judging the quality of those reports.
5082  Other / Meta / Re: Using offsite images instead of posting as text. on: May 29, 2014, 10:34:21 AM
Should this activity be banned?
Yes.

It's a direct violation / circumvention of the restrictions applied to him for his actions in the past.

So will he stop it or be banned? I think he knows exactly what he does wrong. So why isn't he banned?

I also wonder why staff of this forums play with him. TradeFortress is a scammer. Why even keep doing some silly restrictions like 'can't edit' or whatever, why not just ban? He has caused harm to many people and still you let him continue being part of this community. You ban for far less harmful actions, too.
He was warned to stop that and it seems he's heed the warning. Also, this forum is based on free speech. Besides he would just make another account.
5083  Other / Meta / Re: Our topic(SatoshiCarnival) just got moved to Games & Rounds for no reason on: May 28, 2014, 07:26:15 PM
Just edit the main post so it would link to the giveaway and contact a Global moderator to move it back.
5084  Other / Meta / Re: Our topic(SatoshiCarnival) just got moved to Games & Rounds for no reason on: May 28, 2014, 03:39:55 PM
Well, we have a very clear giveaway thread in the Games & Rounds section already. It's: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623045.0

We do not try to drive our main topic by sign up giveaway. But yes, if someone asks a question about it, then we do feel the need to answer. Or do you rather want us to place a link to the giveaway topic in those cases?
Yeah, it's best to link to the giveaway.
5085  Other / Meta / Re: Our topic(SatoshiCarnival) just got moved to Games & Rounds for no reason on: May 28, 2014, 03:20:59 PM
All threads with giveaways belong in the Games and rounds subforum.

Mod note: Moved to Service discussion.
5087  Other / Meta / Re: Secret trick to spamming Bitcointalk without getting banned ;) on: May 24, 2014, 12:43:57 PM
2 things to note :-

1. Whoever is quoting TradeFortress, please note that u r quoting an image and the image source is controlled by TradeFortress. So, at a time, when u wont look back to the topic, those images may get replaced by something as his will and your quotes will also carry that. If it is replaced by the Silk Road 2.0 URL ...U may be in trouble.

2. There is no point in pointing what Davout is doing in French board. He is the Mod over there. Moreover, Davout does not have a paid sig. He is advertising his own company.
Just so you know, images are now proxied. They appear as if they were from the forums. Your first point is invalid.
Do you understand what a proxy means? If TF updates the images, the proxy will update the image as well. Thus your argument is invalid.
5088  Other / Meta / Re: Secret trick to spamming Bitcointalk without getting banned ;) on: May 24, 2014, 09:43:19 AM
Or be hilariousandco.
Haha yeah, how the hell does he get away with it  Roll Eyes
His posts are considered useful, rather than just empty sentences like other's do it. At least that's what one of the global mods mentioned.

I don't see a point in banning people who +1 or whatever spams threads when same time you allow scammers to keep scamming. Scammers are a lot worse thing than spammers.

This forum is built on the ideas of free speech and a free market. If the mods started regulating it from scams, a lot of room for abuse would appear. Besides only avid +1'ers are banned, in most cases the post is just deleted.

Or use images to type.

Code:
[img]http://198.27.102.170/talk/v?i=10[/img]

Why is he doing that? Is he trying to bypass something?

Everyone's a hypocrite. What else is new?
Are you the real TradeFortress or did he sell you that account?
Probably sold. His posts show a serious difference in language after the Inputs.io debacle.

TradeFortress why are you still here talking? Shouldn't you be at Bahamas or somewhere, spending the stolen coins? At least you should be banned, mr. VIP.
The real one might be, the account is probably sold. And scammers aren't banned here, it's your duty to inspect and decide who's who and avoid the ones that you see as scammers.

Why would anyone buy this account. Maybe he was just trying to appear more professional before, and now he doesn't care. I suppose it's also possible someone else has taken over the account though, or he's just decided to troll since has has nothing to lose.

-snip-
He's posting with images since he cannot delete and edit his posts, but he can remove the source of the images. Regarding the account, maybe some rich troll bought it, you never know. A VIP status is worth quite the money.

I don't see a trust rating. You always did your scams outside the sections where it's visible.
If soemeone actually starts dealing with him, on the first PM sent (or the first post in marketplace) they will see his negative ratings.

Are you kidding here? TradeFortress scams and trolls (been doing both for very long time.) He isn't a regular scammer who scams individuals where trades are settled via pm. He scams in various ways but most notable scam of his was inputsio (doesn't require one to ever go pm / look his profile page.) So why are the staff here dodging banning him? What policy is this? Does the payment of 50 BTC (for the VIP status) have something to do with this?
His Inputs.io site was in a thread in Marketplace (Trust rating visible). As I already said in other threads and it was said by many other mods as well as the admin theymos, scams are not moderated. Use your head and the Trust system.

The VIP status indicates he donated money, it's only a certain thank you for doing so and no, it doesn't change anything, since no user is banned for possibly (or actually, we can't judge as mods since it's unmoderated) scamming.

5091  Other / New forum software / Re: Can we "Like" a post? on: May 24, 2014, 08:32:30 AM
Seems like a pretty good idea. Would cut down on the "+1, I agree, yes" spam posts that are still being tossed around, especially in the alt section.
5092  Other / Meta / Re: Quality of English on: May 23, 2014, 12:11:56 PM
Some posts that contain completely broken english (none of the mods or users understand what's written) are deleted. Can't really say specifically, but there was definetely one case that was discussed and it was decided to delete them.
5093  Other / Meta / Re: Some admin decided to delete my posts. WHY? on: May 21, 2014, 06:57:11 PM
I'm not saying my posts were of high quality, even though I did try to make them somewhat relevant and interesting. (ie. I never posted a plain old +1)

What I AM saying is that my posts were not as "spammy" as MANY other people's are. Including mprep, who posts, "bumps".

But you know what? Hey, I going to just drop the matter, learn from it and move on.

Have a nice day.
See spammy posts? Report them. Bumps? See the Marketplace stickies, bumps are allowed on your own threads once every 24 hours and that thread is in a sub section of the Marketplace. Boy, you really should start reading stickies before accusing other people. Cheesy

So this isn't a giveaway thread? And this post is considered a quality post? pfft  Angry
If you actually read the stickies, you'd know that only Alternate crypto giveaways were banned (and useless replies in crypto sections are looked upon much more strictly), not bitcoin ones. Also, no, it's registering for a sig program.
5095  Other / Meta / Re: Some admin decided to delete my posts. WHY? on: May 21, 2014, 06:35:45 PM
So +1 posts are validly reportable, or is this a possible depends on the mod that handles it situation? I see quite a lot of +1s around and I guess they add little to nothing to the discussion really.
In most cases, yes. +1's in discussions are overall useless, spammy responses. Before becoming a mod, all +1's I reported in discussions were handled as good reports.
5096  Other / Meta / Re: Some admin decided to delete my posts. WHY? on: May 21, 2014, 06:32:05 PM
Thank you mprep, for giving your REAL reasons for deleting my posts. I'm new and don't have much info to give. I like seeing pics and other people do to. How do you quantify the quality of a post? I bet you have some "low quality posts" too, but I'm the one being picked on. I guess it's your forum, your rules.

It's awfully convenient for you to say to stop posting the posts that were deleted by you and cluttering my own thread! I guess you don't want anyone else to qualify them.
I determine quality by several aspects: does it provide an opinion, info, etc., how generic it is, how on topic that is, how many similiar replies are there, what section of the forum that is. I take tips and suggestions from other moderators and theymos, the admin. Also, don't flatter or victimize yourself, I (and possibly anyone) have absolutely no reason to pick on a random newbie. I noticed your spammy response while going through my regular procedure and checked out your post history for possible spam. And I wasn't mistaken.

Posting all the deleted responses would be spam as well since a few examples are enough. If a person makes a thread and starts posting random chars or overall low quality responses, he'll get his posts deleted like any other member posting in that thread. And yes, me and most of us here had at least a few responses deleted - none of us are perfect. Some more (like you), some less. That's how moderation works.

+1 = I agree, yes, here here, hell yeah, etc.
What's wrong with offering support to what someone else posted by simply agreeing with them? Do you have to give a reason as well to qualify your post?
If these useless +1's and similiar responses were allowed, we'd be neck deep in thousands of pages containing these, overwheliming any worthwhile response that actually is interesting.
5097  Other / Meta / Re: Some admin decided to delete my posts. WHY? on: May 21, 2014, 05:25:45 PM
I deleted your posts. I was browsing through several threads and noticed a spam response from you thus I went through your post history. Here are the reasons:

I've added FootballCoin to my sig.  Kiss

This is one of the deleted posts. Why was THIS deleted!
Zero quality, no info given. Spam. Such responses can yield you a ban (replying to prohibited alt giveaways).

Oh I see. Is there any effort that is favorable to donate to at the moment?

It looks like Earthwatch (http://pnd4pnd.com/pages/earthwatch/) and ISIS (http://pnd4pnd.com/pages/isis/) could use a little more attention.

On that note, for every unique picture of a panda posted in this thread over the next 24hrs I'll donate 10k to one of the pnd4pnd.com funds. If you want a specific fund to receive the donation, just say so.

This IS a panda!  Grin

Here's another one that was deleted. I can post them all if you want, but as a newbie I have a timeout between posts.
Replying to an encoragement to spam. Images of pandas isn't considered as a good post.

I have seen hundreds of people post "+1". At least I made an extra effort to post a nice pic that is relevant to the thread! Many people have said they like the pics too. They even sometimes have asked for them!
Plain +1's are deleted as well. Report them if you see them. Regarding the pic, again, low quality post/no info/clutter, only vaguely relates through the name to the coin.

Same as the previous one + overall offtopic.

Also, please stop posting them all. It's causing clutter. Report posts of similiar content although some mods handle some of the reports differently.

As the person above said, trust is not moderated (unless it's considered clutter/spam). As in the real world, if you ruin your reputation, you can't just make everyone forget.
5099  Other / Meta / Re: Want to meet admin on: May 21, 2014, 02:28:48 PM
Trust feedback is not moderated (with small exceptions when it's considered spam/clutter). Go do something good, some real trades and that negative won't look so bad.
