5101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get more profit? on: January 09, 2018, 10:30:50 AM
I don't think airdrops are that great. Some are good, but most are a waste of time. You have to pick and choose the projects.
Day trading depends partly on skill and experience and partly on luck and knowing when to get out. I have done okay from trading, but it can be difficult. Holding is better I think. Depends on you as a person.
5102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency market crashes 20 percent on: January 09, 2018, 09:10:08 AM
Yes, it was weird to do this without announcing it - I think most people understood what had happened within a couple of hours, but yes there are still people who think it was a real price drop, and this has resulted in a sell off. Everything will recover soon enough.
5103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: sold my ETH for ADA. on: January 09, 2018, 08:58:56 AM
It's a big gamble. Cardano is so early on at the moment, but Ethereum has a lot of adoption and a great product - even if it has scaling problems, these should hopefully be resolved soon.
I wanted to get ADA too, but I missed the huge pump. I have bought some but I am keeping my Ethereum as well.
5104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Ethereum has a new level - more than $1000. on: January 08, 2018, 06:52:49 PM
Ethereum is already huge and will only get bigger. $1000 is still early for this project. Crypto as a whole will continue to grow, and Ethereum will remain near the top. So many projects are now based on it - but it will have uses far beyond crypto.
5105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops and Bounties useful? on: January 08, 2018, 06:36:50 PM
Yes, airdrops and bounties are useful for projects to get a bit of publicity and distributed ownership of the tokens. Most airdrops are worth very little, but this reflects the fact that you basically just fill a form to get them. Bounties obviously require much more work, which is why the rewards are better.
5106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MARKET IS CRASHING : WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS ? on: January 08, 2018, 06:17:26 PM

I'm glad they're taking out South Korea, it really was skewing prices. The XRP premium they were paying was insane. Now it is much more realistic and reflects what we actually see on exchanges. This sort of thing really highlights why crypto is better than fiat - no limitations due to national boundaries.
5107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Govt Bans Bitcoin THEN? on: January 08, 2018, 11:55:28 AM
Bitcoin and crypto are not restricted by national boundaries - a ban by one country doesn't do much beyond a temporary price hit. I think an all out blanket ban isn't really possible, and crypto is here to stay.
5108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a bubble or just new money?? on: January 08, 2018, 11:17:08 AM
So folks, I entered the crypto-sphere 1 yr ago last Jan not long before a 3 month bull run on the markets not unsimilar to this one before it all crashed and burned a few months later which im wondering whether this run is following the same path?

Any more experienced folks have any input on the matter?

Thanks

I entered later than you, but I think there is definitely a lot of new money coming in. And each influx of new money means a lot of new people buying at current prices, so as soon as we have a small dip, these people have lost money - and will likely panic as they don't have the experience of these insane markets yet. So yes I am expecting a major dip - but long term the trend is still sharply upwards, so I'm not unduly concerned.
5109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 X (1000%) COINS from ACTUAL PRICE on: January 08, 2018, 10:52:49 AM
I think NAV coin looks very undervalued at the moment. It looks way too low for what it offers in comparison to other coins. Should really be a top 50 coin, but it's sitting outside top 100.
5110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Use McAfee to Make Crypto Money on: January 08, 2018, 10:14:59 AM
The whole thing is a bit ridiculous, but congratulations to anyone that is taking advantage of this. I think I will stay away though as I don't generally like buying during the later stages of a pump - very easy to end up a bag holder.
5111  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance vs Bitrex on: January 08, 2018, 09:54:00 AM
I like Bittrex, and I haven't used Binance much - although I am registered. I will have to have more of a look as everyone here is saying it is better than Bittrex.
5112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum just crossed $1000 milestone on: January 05, 2018, 08:33:26 AM
Ethereum just crossed $1000 milestone

Which cheap coin you think is going to be next Ethereum in a year?

One of the DAG coins will probably make it big in 2018 - although some of them are quite big already. We are still waiting for a clear leader here, but once one is established and starts demonstrating real results it will probably be time for rocket gifs again.
5113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do I need to sell all alts? on: January 04, 2018, 08:39:34 AM
This depends entirely on what alts you are holding. If they are good coins, then I think you should keep them. If it is difficult to decide whether to sell them or not, then just sell half for bitcoin.
5114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin that will explode in price? on: January 03, 2018, 10:53:57 AM
What Altcoin with a current low Market cap do you think will explode in price this year? When I say explode, I mean 100X-1000X-10000X returns.

A few people have been saying Ripple, but I disagree.
I do think it is a great coin, and may even reach number one ahead of bitcoin - but it has a marketcap of $100 billion now, and x100 increase would make it a $10 trillion company.
5115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You have to start somewhere on: January 03, 2018, 09:51:18 AM
I only like Stellar out of your list, and I think you should definitely add some bitcoin in there. If you have bitcoin then you not only have something to trade with, but it also keeps you focused on bitcoin price - and given that other coins trade against bitcoin, if you know how bitcoin is doing then that is knowledge of one side of your trades. Remember that if a coin goes up in value against bitcoin, it is not necessarily that coin going up in $ value, but could be bitcoin going down in $ value. If that makes sense Smiley
5116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did Ethereum reach it's peak? on: January 03, 2018, 08:46:15 AM
Did Ethereum reach it's peak? Would it drop tomorrow, or would it continue to rise?

Should I keep holding, or should I cash out?

It is nowhere near its peak. Smart contracts will be huge in the future, I'm sure. And at least one smart contract platform will be a massive success - quite possibly more than one as well. At the moment Eth seems by far the most likely to succeed. I am holding my Eth with no plans to sell for the next few years, apart from a bit of trading here and there.
Short-term as well Eth looks good, it is currently around its ATH - with plenty of room to expand. There is no real psychological barrier now that it has been displaced as number 2 in cap - a good push could move it back above Ripple.
5117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Somebody explain this to me on: January 02, 2018, 01:27:48 PM
Why is DOGE coin still way inderdaad $1?
Why didnt it grow like the rest?

Not all alts are increasing in value. Those that increase are those that have good developments or good news around the project, and also those that have a lot of hype. Doge has none of these things, so it doesn't increase.
5118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2017 was not my year in bitcoin world... and yours? on: January 02, 2018, 11:08:34 AM
2017 was good for me, but as with everyone else I felt like I arrived too late. Now I realise that almost everyone feels that way. But we are not late. Even those who are arriving now are not late - crypto will expand a lot in 2018.
5119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAG coins like raiblocks? on: January 02, 2018, 09:53:43 AM
DAG projects are very interesting, but as soon as I learn about a new one it is already really high in market cap. It could be a technology of the future, but so much price is pure speculation at the moment. It is difficult to know whether to buy in at this point or keep my existing alts instead.
5120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long term vs. Short term on: January 02, 2018, 09:33:06 AM
How are you handling your portfolio? How much are risking in % of your portfolio in short term gain vs. Long term gain?

It varies for me, but at the moment I have about 75% in long term holds, and 25% that I move about for trading. It is all personal preference really, there is no right answer. It depends how much risk you want to take, and how good you are at trading. But even if I am trading, I wouldn't put the full 25% on a low-cap long-shot coin.
