Will probbaly only be joining for around 1-2 weeks whilst I rank up to senior member so I can join a better campaign. Love the idea of a rakeback on dice though.

ANd I don't understand the haters here - if you think the rate is cheap, don't join. This is perfect for big time gamblers.
5102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can break above $1,100 again? on: April 06, 2017, 07:48:56 AM
I think we might briefly touch a new ATH, but we'll probably not break it by a large margin.

The fundamentals are just not there at the moment to really break the ATH by a large margin.

The driving factor right now is just the increased global interest in cryptocurrency in general and bitcoin is riding that wave.

We'd be much better off if we didn't have this ridiculous debate about scaling.

Agreed.

Bitcoin's price right now is justified.

However if it goes up to something like $2,000 right now it would be probably a bubble, because right now there is rumours all over the place about the potential hard fork and it is so anticipated right now.

The community is divided. The functionality of bitcoin is limited by the fact that there is always a possibility of the community will break up into two distinct ideologies.

Honestly, i'm happy rigth now that it seems sure the floor for BTC price is set in stone at around $1,000, and the price is relatively stable.

Nothing more I can ask.
5103  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is bobmarley650 a scammer? on: April 06, 2017, 07:44:36 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=138323

Is bobmarley650 a scammer? He has a lot of negative trust and uses anonymous e-mail services. Should I believe him?

No, do not trust him.

He is likely to be running a scam of the ponzi variety.

What happens is that he builds up a reputation on this forum by paying off initial investors, possibly out of his own pocket or by gambling the funds, or more likely he is paying off initial investors with new investor's money.

Remember that even if he has proof that he is paying people, it doesn't make sense to trust him because he has not demonstrated to you that he is running a sustainable, legitimate business. He does not publish his trades in public as far as i know, so you will never know what exactly he is doing to your funds.

You'll find better ways to profit off crypto, without counterparty risk or lower counterparty risk. No need to invest in someone who already has neg trust on this forum.
5104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling sites should ask proofs ? on: April 06, 2017, 07:41:27 AM
i think we should be careful when we want to send our identity to the site because we don't know what they want to do with our identity since there is many sites that using their members for many purpose. beside that, like what i see on the shopping online that need our identity including our credit card number, the site can get hacked by hacker and they can stolen our information to use for other purpose. we don't know what will happen in future but if we are careful then i think we can minimize from bad thing that will happen so we can stay safe.

Correct, and this is the rule number one here in the Cryptocurrency world, Don't trust anyone, except yourself, unless you wanna get scam then go ahead, send your personal information to a certain gambling site asking it to prove that you are legit? I guess that is out of line right? They are the one who should give that to us, because they are the one who wants us to trust them, for us to convince that it is safe to play on their gambling site, so, technically they are one responsible on providing such thing, and not us.

Yep.

There is really no reason for the sites to ask you for personal information anyways, if you are playing legitimately and not cheating anything from the casinos. They run a provably fair game, they are supposed to win most of the times. They should be more than happy for you to have alt accounts on their sites because that only means more volume and more profit from them.

So really, a lot of casinos like Powerbet uses their Terms and Conditions as an excuse to delay withdrawals or to simply eat user funds.

That's not ethical, in my opinion. Especially with such an anonymous currency used, like bitcoin.

However if a casino does have real evidence that you are cheating by expoliting a bug that they haven't fixed, then they should be able to ask for your identification. But suspicion of that isn't enough in my opinion.
5105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will that be? on: April 05, 2017, 06:02:58 AM
When will be the time to have 80%+ of your all wealth in bitcoin? Will there ever come such a time?
I think bitcoin or any other, but there will definitely come a time when most of a person's wealth be in the form of digital. Do you think bitcoin has the potential to be that digital asset?

I already do.

The reason is because I actually got into using bitcoin in like 2010, bought coins for cheap, and held them for this whole period. And that meant that my bitcoin stash has actually sigficantly outperformed my fiat savings, which is quite amazing.

I currently have around 20-30 coins in my possession that I am holding in a cold wallet.

I'm still consistently buying bitcoins on a regular basis as well.

PrimeDice is the best way to lose all your money.

I think that you should really get your brain checked for infections or diseases. Even I as an addicted gambler knows that there is no good way of making money off gambling sites. The sites want you to believe that you have a way of making money, when you really don't.

And you seem to be like one of these people who believe in a strategy that will work.

If you use automated betting, it'll just make you lose more. It won't help you at all.

5108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: April 04, 2017, 08:14:26 AM
Hello everyone as the title says ^
Do you store your bitcoins online or on a wallet on your computer, perhaps cold storage?

Definitely cold storage.

The reason behind this being that is that my coins are secure in cold storage, i don't need to worry about sites being hacked.

And also, if there was going to be a fork, i'll get coins on both chains Wink
5109  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucet Owner-Do you want to put shortlink on claim button ? on: April 04, 2017, 07:51:45 AM
Hello, i am making a url shortener like adf.ly but you can put short link in your button of your faucet :
When user click on claim button, they will be redirect to short link, and they only receive reward if they complete short link.
I am completing 80%, and i just want to know if anyone will use it ? Com will be around 0.7$ in first month

This seems like a good idea...

However why dont the faucet owners just use adf.ly in the first place instead of using your service?

Does your service really pay a lot more than the usual?
5110  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: April 04, 2017, 07:47:08 AM
Summer 2012. Diablo 3. I bought in game gold with bitcoin @ $3/btc - Spent 90 coins for 500 million in game gold.

IGG = 35 cents / million now.

I lose.

/wrist

Yeah same.

I bought bitcoin a while ago as well, actually a few years ago. Bitcoin price went from $100 to $200 in a few weeks or months, can't remember.
Sold my bitcoin for $200, and now it's at over $1000.

Regrets...

5111  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: April 04, 2017, 07:45:40 AM
Yes, got you intrigued, didn't it?

Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value.
However, it cannot and will not replace current fiat money that the entire world it using. It just cannot.
Take paying a cup of coffee for example. To pay your coffee with bitcoins, one must get bitcoins first, either by mining or buying bitcoins with other kinds of money (*cough*fiat*cough). It ends up being a quite complicated process, don't you think?
Until we reach the point where paying for a cup of coffee is as easy with Bitcoin as it is with cash, we will never get mass adoption. And as far as I see it, there is no way of simplifying the acquiring of bitcoins.

Thats true.

Bitcoin does not have instant clearing times like paper money, but doesn't mean it can't be used.

For example, a common way to mitigate potential double spends is to require the fee to be set above a certain level. And double spends are really rare by the average consumer anyways, especilaly wehn you are buying something face to face at such a small value.
5112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: April 04, 2017, 07:44:02 AM
Bitcoin is the future of money, or so they say.

I would like to hear your opinions on Why should people use Bitcoin?

People should use bitcoin because bitcoin is a good way to oppose the government's intervention in people's daily lives.

By using bitcoin, you are staying anonymous.

You are also staying safe as a seller because you know that the currency you are getting isn't reversible, and that means instead of having to being worried about chargebacks on paypal, you know you're in the safe area with bitcoin.
5113  Economy / Speculation / Re: Almost 1,100 on: April 04, 2017, 07:43:20 AM
Resilience is winning, going to be a good run upcoming!

Can't really say i'm surprised at all honestly...

People really need to learn ot be much more persistent with their efforts... Investing in bitcoin one day and saying i'm going to hold and when bitcoin crashes by $100 and they panic and desperately cash out, and thus missing the big rise a few days later isn't a smart business strategy.

I'm Holding bitcoins!!!
5114  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: April 04, 2017, 07:40:48 AM
Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

Lol, there is no future for paper money.

Not only is it worthless, and fiat currency should always avoided at all costs by people around the world, it is also getting increasingly expensive for the government to run their fiat currency scam.

They could switch to centralised cryptocurrencies and save a ton on printing virtual money.
5115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan to accept Bitcoin as payment method. on: April 04, 2017, 07:38:54 AM
the first japan bill containing virtual currencies is expected to come on april which recognizes bitcoin as a method of payment.Although,it doesnot define bitcoin as a legal currency,it is still considered as a remarkable progress for bitcoin in japan.Hope, most of tourists who would go to japan to see 2020 olympics would be able to pay in bitcoins.

THis is going to be a huge step in the right direction for bitcoin in my opinion.

not only does it mean that the government of japan and also government around the world are acknowledging that bitcoin should be a legal currency, they are also saying that bitcoin is functional and can be used.
5116  Economy / Speculation / Re: What could make bitcoins price go up again? on: March 20, 2017, 08:21:46 AM
If this war between segwit and bu has ended, we are in a better position right now. But because of the statement given by some exchanges and the fear of imminent hard fork, price is going down instead of up.

If bu and segwit can can up with common ground, it will push bitcoin price to the moon.

We should not rely on whales pumping the price or in the end we all will end up losers. Bitcoin will be owned by a few whales and we will be in their mercy.

Yeah but unfortunately thats not going to happen is it.

We should expect the worst, hope for the best.

I wouldn't put any of my funds into BTC currently, maybe later when all this crap is sort out.
5117  Economy / Gambling / Re: Monthly Best Gambling Site (March 2017) on: March 20, 2017, 08:20:49 AM
Personally I would go for YoloDice this time.

Their promotions, the community is growing at a rapid speed, their fast support and the investing option with bitcoin. They are like Just-Dice v2 except a lot better in terms of their GUI and user friendliness.

Go YD!
5118  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex: Suspending my withdrawals until Level 2 verification. on: March 20, 2017, 08:13:55 AM
Not sure where to go with this one, so I thought it would be appropriate here as a PSA.

I use a VPN service.

I signed up with Poloniex and deposited a fair amount of BTC.  I only transact using crypto, no fiat.  I exchanged some BTC for ETH, withdrew some of it, but then my account got locked down and I was told to link my other accounts (I have none).  I have a dedicated IP address, so it's not shared.

Poloniex is now telling me to verify my account at level 2.  They would like my passport number, pictures of my ID, all of my personal information, all because I use a VPN.

Based on what I am told, they will not allow me to withdraw until I have provided such information.

Not passing judgment on their site, or looking for an argument here, just wanting to highlight that if you use a VPN and are concerned about your privacy, do NOT use Poloniex under any circumstances.

I'll edit this if they change their stance.

This is definitely going to hurt them.

I'd suggest Polo just let this guy up here withdraw his money or you will lose of lot of customers.

Why do people trade Monero or Dash on your site and pump it sky high whilst you charge your fees on every single fucking transaction people make? Because pepole want anonymity. Because people don't want to leak out their personal info to people they've never met before.

So be a man and release this guy's funds. Using a VPN doesn't mean crap.
5119  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: March 20, 2017, 08:11:37 AM

Some day in the future, you will realize that the best time to invest was not today, but some other day in the future, when prices were low. But with the information that you have today, the best time to invest is still today, because you do not know when prices will be low, and you do know that the longer you hold your investment, the more time it has to grow.

Toughts?

Doesn't really make sense to me but ok.

The thing is never get caught in a hype situation. When people say these things it is generally when something is going really well and everyone is optimistic. And when the price is going down and down by the day people tend to have the opposite notion - sell today because you never know where the price is going end up at tomorrow.

The more time it has to grow? I mean if you were investing in a currency,it isn't necessarily the more time the better.
5120  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit/1xbet scam on: March 20, 2017, 08:06:15 AM
Well there are a lot of scam accusations against them that i think it is unlikely that you will ever get a refund on your part.

Just remember this: Any bitcoin casino that also offer fiat deposits whether directly or on a sister site probably shouldn't be trusted. They are known to block accounts, freeze account funds for no reason and also report you to authorities for no good reason.
