5101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How About Bitcointalk raise Money in BTC to Donate on fight against Coronavirus on: March 22, 2020, 08:23:19 PM
Your idea isn't bad, but most likely theymos (admin) isn't going to raise money for donations. Probably he will not involved with any kind of fund related matter on forum. There is so many reason and that's why admins never hold users fund. But I believe forum have enough fund (raised from donations, forum ads auction & fees) to donate for most effected countries. But question is, will government accept bitcoin donations? If not then nothing can be done. If government accept bitcoin donations then it will be a positive move for whole bitcoin community. But don't expect raise funds from community via forum admin.
I also don't expect that theymos would start collecting money. But maybe one or few trusted Bitcointalk members could start such initiative. I don't know how much money here on Bitcointalk we can collect, probably not that much, but I think even small donation matters in this situation. And yeah, I doubt that governments would accept Bitcoin donations. But maybe we can donate through charity organisations, there are some which accept Bitcoin.

Ex Real Madrid President succumbs to Coronavirus COVID19  Cry
Lorenzo Sanz was Real president from 1995 to 2000, during which time the Madrid giants won Champions League twice

The Virus started out jokingly but right now it's bringing a lot of gloom to the football world
RIP Sad
Is anyone betting on this LaLiga esport thing ? I can't see how bookies can accepted something like this and yet they did...do we know how this 2 guys are playing FIFA ? No we don't. We take a blind bet accepting this ? Yes we do. Do we like it ? Yes, what else should we betting on when we have so few offers no matter what the sport is. The good thing is that esport are here to save us.
Were we can bet on it? Does any of crypto sportsbooks have it? It would be interesting to try. I have no idea how they set odds without knowing how good or bad each player plays FIFA.
5103  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Pls PRAY For ITALIAN's & Other Part Of The World on: March 21, 2020, 11:50:20 PM
I'm not very religious person, so instead of praying, I prefer real actions. So, today I just made donation. Medics in my country have not enough face masks, respirators and other necessary stuff, very soon it will end. So, people here made great initiative and we will help medics a bit.
If you afford, I suggest to donate some money too. Even small donation is meaningful in this situation.
It's weird though. We live in the Orlando (USA) area, and we see very little mainstream media reporting on what's going on over there. I think it may be because they want to reduce panic here.
It's strange indeed. At least in my country (and probably in whole Europe) media is spreading panic. They are using this situation to get as many clicks as possible. Clickbait titles, misleading articles, all drama that they make. And then we see people massive buying food like WW3 is soon to begin.

I'm just about to add more cryptocurrency bets but I'm open to any ideas of events people would like to bet on that haven't been cancelled.
Well, maybe we can bet on weather? Just kidding.
Adding more crypto bets sounds like a good idea.
If you're looking for sports events which aren't cancelled yet, take a look at Australia. Their football, rugby and Aussie rules leagues is still in play. I'm not sure how many people would be interested, but when there is simply no more sports event, probably it would get more or less interest.
Also, on Flashscore app I see some esports events available, maybe it can be another option.
5105  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus: International Updates on: March 21, 2020, 06:17:38 PM
Tonight first death from COVID-19 was confirmed in my country - Lithuania. 83 year old women passed away in my little town. It's very likely that she got infected in hospital from doctor who had infection. Now our hospital has been closed and big part of staff, over 120 people were closed in quarantine. It's very likely that we will have way more new coronavirus cases confirmed. Very concerning situation...
5106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: March 21, 2020, 06:09:41 PM
Well, I've never been to physical casino, so I will definitely won't go to it after quarantine. Actually, there is no casino in my location, just few gaming hall with slots machines, but obviously now it's closed. I'm not big gambler, but I prefer to play online.
5107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Austrailan league rules football Sportsbet betting discussion on: March 21, 2020, 06:01:56 PM
Aussie rules always been mistery for me, I have zero knowledge about it, same like American footbal or cricket. I don't know rules of game, but I tried to watch it once and thought - wtf I'm watching now Cheesy. Now I watched video which explains basicS of AFL - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMZYZcoAcU0. What I can say - it looks really interesting and enetertaining.
It have similarities with rugby, but from what I see it's very different sport. I will try to watch it, but I have no idea where to watch it Cheesy. And unfrtunately, most games are played very early in morning :/
But no way I'm going to bet on this without any knowledge. I'll rather bet on few remaining football leagues, including Australia.
5108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on: March 20, 2020, 11:29:50 PM
This year's song will be not eligible in Eurovision 2021:
https://eurovision.tv/story/intention-to-honour-eurovision-2020-songs-artists
That moment when my country first time in the history had chance to win Eurovision, they cancel whole event ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
EBU are planning to make alternative programme, but it won't be a competition.
5109  Other / Off-topic / Re: what will happen here if the merit system is removed. on: March 20, 2020, 12:11:55 AM
Merit system isn't going to be removed, so, it's not worth to consider such scenario. If you really want to know what would happen, check posts/threads made back in 2017/start of 2018 and you'll se...
i am beginning to suspect that most reasons why people are here is to earn merits and compete in bounty campaigns.
Many people come here to make money by putting minimal efforts, they don't care about merits.
5110  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators Doubling Membership Fee Despite People Loosing Jobs on: March 19, 2020, 11:59:48 PM
theymos, how dare you???!!!
I'm not sure that's worth to answer to this post seriously, but ok. Copper membership isn't must have thing on Bitcointalk, it's just extra feature which doesn't gives many benefits. You're free to post without it. But if you really nerd these benefits given by Copper membership, then just get 10 merits - it doesn't cost anything. If you lost job, probably you have plenty of time now to get it.
5111  Other / Off-topic / Re: Top Matches in sports you want to watch again and again on: March 19, 2020, 10:26:01 PM
Great idea. There is almost no sports left, most of us spend time at home now, so why not to watch some classic games. I see that most clubs and leagues in recent days also started to upload their classic gmaes to Youtube and Facebook channels. Some best games already been posted above, so I will add few more.
Real Madrid 0-3 Barcelona 2005
An epic performance by Ronaldinho when Real fans gave him standing ovations
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijxPrcCmlVQ
Euro 2008 Turkey 3-2 Czech Republic
Probably best game in EURO history. Unfortunately can't find full match, only extended highlights:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8x8rx

For basketball fans
Slovenia - Latvia Eurobasket 2017 quarterfinal
One of the best games in Eurobasket I ever saw, including Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-DKtLy9S1M&list=PLCXERy73Oiz9oeuMhEmHh1B5PKHri1rhn&index=8
You can find many other classic games of national teams on FIBA channels too.

Lithuania - Italy 2004 Olympics semifinal.
Probably most hearthbreaking loss in my country history, when we had great chance to become Olympic champions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nR1DkRzHv8
We even defeated USA Dream Team back then:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXt1uMFG_w8

For F1 fans
2008 Brazil GP
Probably most dramatic F1 race ever. Ferrari already started to celebrate Massa's chamipon title, but Hamilton managed to make overtake on last corners and won his first champion title.

Uruguay vs Ghana 2010 World Cup

As a individual from Africa, It was a memorable experience for me as Ghana were the last team from Africa left in the tournament, I remember jubilating so hard when Ghana were awarded the penalty as the last kick of the game after Suarez handed a goal-bound ball. Unfortunately, Ghana missed the penalty and lost the game on penalties as well

video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKmcxZtFvQ4
For me it is most memorable footbal game ever. I was cheering for Uruguay in this World Cup, mainly because of Forlan. And when penalty was given, I was sure that Uruguay journey come to the end. Wow, what a game it was. Suarez probably is still persona non grata in Ghana and main enemy of nations.

Jeez, it looks like the old cryptotalk forum. Where are you getting this templates for this forums anyway? looks so generic.
These forums looks completely different. I don't see any similarities. They are using different forum software. Bitcoinbangladesh use SMF 2.0.17 (Simple Machines Forum) default version without many modifications made and it really looks generic. Many other forums use it too. While Cryptotalk use IPS Theme by IPSFocus https://www.ipsfocus.com/
5114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Corona virus (COVID19) Effect in Cryptocurrency Gambling on: March 19, 2020, 12:25:00 AM
I think it's very difficult times for crypto and traditional gambling websites. There is almost no active sports competitions left, so volume in sports betting will be close to zero.
And I doubt that people will start to gamble more. It's very difficult situation in the world and I think most people prefer to save their money because we don't know what will happen soon, there is lot of doubts about future and possibly upcoming recession. I think it's not worth to expect groving volumes in gambling industry soon.
5115  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger's newest 20-25% Discount on: March 19, 2020, 12:06:29 AM
Today I got email that there is less than50% of discount codes left. It means Ledger sold over 1000 devices with promo codes just in few days. I don't think it's bad numbers considering current situation in the world and crypto markets.
I think you meant to say 9 hours, right? I believe 8-9 hours on clothing are the numbers that are circulating in media these days. It can survive the longest on metal, up to 12 hours. At least scientists seem to have discovered that the virus can't be transmitted over paper bills.

There is msny different researches which tell different numbers and we can't know which one is right. I saw article which says that virus can survive up to 3 days on plastic and stainless steel.
5116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: March 18, 2020, 06:20:08 PM
The death toll from Francisco Garcia discloses that strong men can be killed by the virus, no matter what they are players, athletics, or trainers (coaches).
It's true what you said, but it's important to mention that he was battling with cancer, if I'm not mistaken IV stage. So, it's very likely that this illness made he more vulnerable and this is why lost battle with Coronavirus. RIP.

https://www.marca.com/en/football/spanish-football/2020/03/18/5e72353c268e3e7c1d8b4577.html
Deportivo Alaves confirmed 15 infected players and staff members. It's 3rd team, after Valencia and Espanyol with confirmed COVID-19 cases. Spain is second most infected country in Europe, so it's very likely that we will see more similar news from other teams in next days...
5117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on: March 18, 2020, 03:15:57 PM
Eurovision Song Contest 2020 has been cancelled.

This is really early tbh, still two months to go. And I think being mainly a TV event, the EBU could have come up with some other format or ideas, where a live performance isn't necessary, but people still can vote for their favourite song. Anyway, what can you do Wink

Lets see, if some countries will send the same entry next year. Monitoring the odds, some countries might think twice about that Grin
And the winner of Eurovision 2020 is COVID-19... But I don't understand why they can't make Eurovision later this year, in September for example. It's not football championship with very intensive calendar.
It's interesting what will happen next year - will we see performance of singers who have been already selected this year, or there will be new national selections.
5118  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: fauceturk.co on: March 17, 2020, 11:58:49 PM
First thing which come to my eyes when I visit your website that some of your articles is Turkish and some English. I think you need to make categories for articles written in different languages.
About airdrops - I don't think it's worth to write about it. Especially when you can't guarantee that they are legitimate and you're going to promote likely scams. There are many other good topics to write about, gambling for example.
5119  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger's newest 20-25% Discount on: March 17, 2020, 11:20:45 PM
Nice offer, but definitely bad timing. Not only because of the possibility of getting infected with COVID-19 if we consider how many hands package need to change, but also because of the crypto price that has fallen below all expectations. If one chooses to buy, be careful and disinfect the shipment as the virus can survive up to 9 days on different materials. Good luck to pick a valid word Wink
I agree - it's terrible timining. I think that chance to get infected from package is low, it's more likely to get infected while you take package from post office.
And probably in current situation, getting hardware wallet is very low on people's priority list. There is so many more important things right. And especialky, when crypto have fallen so much, interest in it have reduced very significantly.
But I suppose that Ledger aren't selling many wallets these days. So, they have to react somehow and push sales a bit.
5120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: POLL: Who Would You Prefer In Your Team: Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? on: March 17, 2020, 11:05:31 PM
That is your opinion and you are entitled to it, it is not fact.

The point being made is no single football player can be called the greatest player ever because there are 11 different positions to be played on football field and no single player has ever played in all 11 positions sufficiently enough to be called the greatest player ever therefore to compare like-for-like players would be more reasonable.
So, this is one of reasons why we can't call one of players as GOAT. I think it would be more reasonable to make XI of all time, and choosing best player in every position, but even this would make never ending discussions who is best goalkeeper, left back and etc.

That not a fact, that is your opinion.
Offcourse it is, same like every other post in this thread. I didn't said that is a fact.
