5102  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: A discussion of truthHurts post about slush's pool on: March 26, 2011, 01:25:26 AM
you can probably skim up to 5% without the majority of people noticing.
5103  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 + cd key 27BTC on: March 26, 2011, 12:55:53 AM
You can also buy the cd-key(dvd-key) without the game for 60BTC 25BTC
that's not possible, unless the key has never been used before.

Huh why do you think that's impossible  Huh

with online activation you get a limited amount of 5 machines per key and you can deauthorize those machines any time you want to and get your activaions back    http://support.ea.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/178

you can also activate the game using the dvd which requires you to have the dvd (or a virtual image) in  your drive on every startup of the game
that's only for the solidshield/secuROM DRM. if you want to play online, you will need an EA account, and an unused dvd key. If you try to make another EA account, and run the game, it will ask you to "redeem code" (enter cd key), if you enter the one that you have already used, it will fail, and you won't be able to play online. So if you want to sell your game, you need to sell the associated EA account.

If you don't believe me, make another ea account, and try to play bc2 with it. Wink

The pricing is simple: For each USD($) you get 2 megahashes per second per month. Every day you will receive the expected daily BitCoin output transferred to the address of your choice. Your coins will accumulate even if your wallet computer is off.
[...]

This is the safest way to obtain to steady stream of freshly minted BitCoins. No bad-luck streaks. No downtime. No hassle.
so you will receive the "average" amount of BTC expected for the MH/s your purchased, right?

also, your prices are too high, compared to exchanging USD for BTC.

with a 1 GH/s plan, the expected return will be around 439 BTC a month. But the plan costs $500, so it's 1.14 USD per BTC. :/

are there any other offers? the highest right now is 30 BTC
5109  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Crysis 2 Limited Edition on: March 23, 2011, 03:43:01 PM
Darn if it wasn't EA download I might have had to bite.
If you bought this account, you would also get the key. The key could be used to activate a copy of crysis 2 that you already have.

I am interested. How have you obtained this account?
i work for a game retailer. When a game goes on sale, we have to "gut" some boxes so we can put them on display. Usually, they're sold for ~20% less than their retail price, that, along with my employee discount allows me to get it for ~$25
5110  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Crysis 2 Limited Edition for 2 BTC on: March 23, 2011, 01:37:48 AM
I've sold 6, and there's only one left!

EADM account with Crysis 2, limited edition. There's only one left, the price 1 btc.

5111  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Genuine Serial keys for Games/Software at discount price, hurry while stock last on: March 23, 2011, 12:15:40 AM
most likely, his keys are russian cd keys. that's why they're so cheap (it's to compete with the pirates, or something like that, not sure though). also, his prices are wayyy too high. most cd key stores sell for $20-30 for major games, and you can get them for even cheaper ($15) if you deal directly with the russians over at plati.ru.
5112  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [NEW POOL & NEW MINER] - BitcoinPool.com - Jump In! on: March 22, 2011, 11:35:25 PM
I'm not sure why, but this pool seems to have lower earnings than slush's pool. after crunching some data from slush's pool, i found out that i make around 0.03 BTC per hour mining. However, i ran a miner for 1 entire day, and the "estimated earnings" is only 0.06 BTC.
5113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: when will I start getting bitcoins on: March 22, 2011, 07:37:26 PM
those blocks aren't generated by you. if they were, you would have gotten 50 btc.

5114  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How does "pooling" work? on: March 22, 2011, 01:10:38 AM
Pool mining works like this:

Each miner connected to the pool will repeatedly ask for a chunk of work from the server. The work provided is a much less difficult piece of work, which results in the miner being able to submit "shares" at a relatively quick pace (in comparison to the time it would take to solve a block solo).

Each share could potentially be the answer for the block the pool is working on, and if it is, the pool solves the block and each user gets paid based on the method the pool is using to value shares. Less any required fees or donation rates.
thanks for the detailed reply. i got one question though, what is preventing a miner in a pool from not reporting a "winning" block to the server? this could easily be implemented, with a connection to bitcoind. if the block is above the target, it is submitted to the server, if it's below the target, submit it to the client, and claim the block for itself. could this attack be feasible?
5115  Bitcoin / Mining / How does "pooling" work? on: March 21, 2011, 11:15:47 PM
i don't understand how a pool combines the effort of multiple computers toward  finding one block. How does each "share" help the server solve a block?
5116  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Earn Bitcoins (20 or 10) for getting shops/organisations to accept Bitcoin on: March 20, 2011, 02:54:26 AM
I just did some DNS work for astronimicsolutions.net which is relaunching right now he is going to accept Bitcoins asap even if i have to implement it for free!
that's not even a site :/

5117  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Dedicated Bitcoin Mining Rigs on: March 18, 2011, 02:29:12 AM
Bitcoin is not very liquid when it comes to businesses like these. It works well for small stuff when you have all the capital in hand. Taking a fraction of the purchase price in BTC is the most optimal solution, IMO.
you could just trade the bitcoins for cash. shouldn't take very long...
