5121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: CPFP with '2' parents transaction? on: December 30, 2017, 04:40:22 PM
Yes, all of your 3 transactions would go through when performing a CPFP.
But you have to make sure that you chose a fee which is high enough for all of your 3 transactions.
You can estimate an fee here: https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/.
According to this site currently a fee of 400 sat/B will give you a 'pretty' high chance of getting it confirmed within 3 hours.
So in your case you'd have to chose a fee of 1200 sat/B to get your transactions through within this timeframe (90% chance).
5122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transfer and account issues between Ledger Nano S and Coinbase- Need help! on: December 30, 2017, 08:11:15 AM
Beforehand: If you have your 24-word-seed backed up correctly, your coins are safe!

If you created an account within the ledger chrome app (and sent funds to it), you can easily recreate it after being deleted.
If you click on 'Add account' it will derive another account from your seed. The derivation is always the same.
Means: If you accidently wipe your nano s, or delete your account.. you can just click on 'Add account' and it will add the same account again.

Your issue mostly seems to be a display bug. Did you check your address in a block explorer? If the coins are still sitting on your address and your nano S contains this address..
Then everything is fine. Sometimes there are a few display/connection issues.

You can try to clear the app cache (Click on 'Settings' in the ledger chrome app, not sure where exactly) or reinstalling the ledger chrome app.
Your coins stay always safe and can always be derived from your seed! You can install/uninstall the apps as often as you want.

During my panic of not knowing where thousands of dollars has went, I attempted to reconfigure my ledger to an old setting, which resulted in me returning to a home screen where i did not have any icons. Can anyone help me understand what is going on?

What do you mean with 'old setting'?
Do you mean an old seed (without any coins) ?
Note, that you can always restore your nano S from your seed. If you once recieved coins to an address generated by this seed.. it can always be re-generated again.
5123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin disappeared from my adress on: December 30, 2017, 08:00:58 AM
I got an address and received a private key on the email and when I looked at the blockchain one week ago, I saw there ony one transaction of $ 300 .

Which wallet were u using?
Sending/recieving private keys via email is a big big BIG mistake.
Email is unencrypted. Additionally emails can be forged, intercepted, ... you name it.
Email is an outdated protocol (from the 1980's). Just because its used everywhere, it doesnt mean its safe.
Of course its not that unsecured if you were encrypting your mails with PGP.. but im assuming you didn't.

When I looked at my blockchain address yesterday, I saw there two transaction and my address has now 0 bitcoin.
Could anyone please tell me if someone stole my bitcooin or what happened

If you didn't initiate the second transaction.. then yes. Unfortunately it seems your BTC's have been stolen.

And if I still have my private key, can I ask for my bitcoons back?

Unfortunately not.
Your private key is associated to the address.
With a private key of address A you can only spend from this address A. Everyone with access to a private key can sign transactions (send btc's) from the corresponding address.

For the next time i would suggest to make sure your PC is clean from any malware.
Its not certainly because your mail was spyed on. It may be 'just' an infected PC.
To be absolutely sure you should wipe your HD (after backing important files up) and start with a fresh installed OS.
And never ever recieve/send private keys via mail!
5124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: New question on: December 30, 2017, 07:49:51 AM
Please I have been having a stucked transaction since on the 6th of december and I'm worried right now about my money, please I need someone to help me out on this fam...the transaction id is      1DSsWTAV2iJVgSkUXZMH3eFz7jn3yENbn2

1DSsW... is an address, not a transaction ID.
Your transaction (ID: 1bcc3186ea93b67b3561bc464f6473c8440d66021d2f1a4b0800fefc0325aa93) is unconfirmed because you have chosen a fee of 48 sat/B.
This fee is way to low for the corrent status of the network with 180k+ unconfirmed transactions in the mempool (https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions).
https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ suggests a fee of at least 300 sat/B to get your TX confirmed in an appropiate amount of time.
The best would be you go back to the Child board Bitcoin Technical Support (it seems you already found that) and read the sticky thread at the top named All about "stuck" transactions and what you can do to fix them (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1802212.0).
5125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum-XVG 2.4.1 wallet will not connect, please help on: December 29, 2017, 07:36:42 PM
worked with this adress, but without SSL...that is not so clear for me, I though verge is secure and anonymous and going through the TOR network, but is this possible without ssl Huh

Verge is 'secure' (as almost every cryptocurrency in the top 30 at the moment) and anonymous.
SSL (which by the way is called TLS now) [1] is neither required for the security- nor for the anonymity-element.
The only possible attack (without usig TLS) would be that an attacker could rig the the TX history, .. .
This requires the attacker to sit inbetween you and the node you are connectig to (Man-in-the-Middle[2]).

without SSL it works for me too. Is that a problem? can i do something wrong when i connect without SSL??

No, everything is fine.
You don't have to connect via SSL (new name: TLS).

5126  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: if I have no clue for the wallet.dat password of bitcoin core on: December 29, 2017, 07:13:16 PM
Well.. without any clue it will be almost impossible to decrypt your wallet file.
You could try to bruteforce it in a reasonable range. For example: If you usually have 6-9 chars passwords, then only bruteforce those 6-9 chars long passwords.
This also applies to some special characters you may use more often. Characters which you are sure of you didn't use can be blacklisted, so no computation time is wasted.
One of the best (if not the best) recovery tool for your purpose would be btcrecover[1] with its password recovery: https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/TUTORIAL.md#btcrecover-tutorial.

If the amount stored in your wallet is high enough you might consider renting some cloud computing and split your bruteforcing between a few machines.
This might require a bit more in-depth knowledge and perhaps a modification of the tool.

5127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sweeping private key on: December 29, 2017, 06:36:07 PM
I want to sweep  my private key from my wallet to a different wallet. Is it recommended to move those coins first to a different address within my wallet or a 3rd wallet/exchange before the sweep?

Keep in mind that sweeping and importing are two differet things.
Sweeping means to send the coins from one address to one from your wallet. When you choose the 'sweep'-function your wallet automatically creates
a transaction from your imported private key to an (unused) address generated by your wallet. This costs transaction fees.

Importing simply means to import a private key into a wallet. This does not cost any transaction fees since no TX is being created.
But please keep in mind that this imported priv key won't be included in your old backups, your seedphrase, and not always in a new backup (depending on backup-type and wallet).

5128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin payment protocol wallet on: December 29, 2017, 06:25:01 PM
Can you please tell me how to get the bitcoin adress from Electrum?

You mean the recieving address (generated by your wallet)?
If so: Just click on the 'Recieve'-tab. Thats your 'next' (unused) address.
If you want to choose a specific address (out of the electrum-generated, of course) you can click on the 'Addresses'-tab.
There you will see 20 addresses which all belong to your wallet. Further addresses will be generated on demand.
5129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I have a TX with 6928 confirmations but total balance is still pending on: December 29, 2017, 06:13:44 PM
I prefer to understand what's going on.

Can it have anything to do with to transactions i've send from my old wallet (which was with Qt on windows 7) to my new wallet (which is on Linux Mint with Bitcoin Core) ?
On the same evening i started with sending 0.0002 BTC to my new wallet, to see if public keys were correct etc. This transactions has also more than 6000 confirmations. And this transaction is now shown as available balance !

You have quite a strange issue.
But this definetly did not happen because of a specific set-up (regarding sending-/recieving- wallet).
This is most certainly an issue with core. Since your transaction propagated correctly and already got confirmed it surely can't be because of your QT-client.
As LoyceV already mentioned the rescan-command should solve this issue.
5130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mnemonic seed multichecker on: December 29, 2017, 06:01:06 PM
How can i check all balances per 1 click?
ps.: yes, i know how i can check balance using blockchain.info/xpub/xpub , but i need check more than 200 xpub keys and 40 seeds.

You could write a small script which checks all the balances via an online API (e.g.: https://blockexplorer.com/api-ref or https://blockchain.info/de/q).
You can basically use any scripting language you want. I'd prefere python (because of its 'straight forward' language).
You'll find quite a few tutorials on the internet if you try googling.
5131  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum and minimum transaction fee on: December 29, 2017, 02:29:34 PM
I've tried to use an accelerator : http://confirmtx.com/ .

This accelerator doesn't work unfortunately.
The only one working at the moment is viaBTC (https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/), but there are only 100 spots per hour. You need to submit your TX within the first second(s) to get it accelerated.

How does double-spending work ? How to do it with Electrum ?

If you had your fee marked as 'replacable' you can do Replace-by-Fee. Basically just setting a new (higher) fee for the same transaction.
You can find out wheter you have RBF activated by right-clicking on the unconfirmed transaction. If you can click on 'Increase fee', its activated and you can easily
increase it by clicking on it.

This is the easier way of getting your transaction unstuck. But if you don't have RBF activated you can perform a double-spending.
Here is a guide for electrum: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@profitgenerator/tutorial-how-to-fix-unconfirmed-transactions

You may activate RBF for your future transactions: Tools -> Preferences -> Fees -> Enable Replace-by-Fee. And tick 'Replacable' when sending a TX.
5132  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Stolen or lost BTC with Electrum Wallet on: December 29, 2017, 02:08:22 PM
Did you check the signature of the file you've downloaded? Or at least the Hash?

If you still want to find out what happened you could check the signature of the file.
This would give the awnser to the question if you were a target in a Man-in-the-Middle atack (and only your electrum wallet was modified) or if your PC seems to be compromised.
You can find a small guide for checking signatures here: https://www.deepdotweb.com/jolly-rogers-security-guide-for-beginners/how-to-verify-your-downloaded-files-are-authentic/

I have no idea what happened, the computer seens clear.

Generally, after such an incident, you should regard your computer as compromised.
Back up the most important files and wipe your drive completely. It would be safer to start from a fresh installed OS.
5133  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BTC and BCH transactions on: December 29, 2017, 01:01:51 PM
.. BCC protocol allows for more transactions per second which translates to faster payments and lower fees ..

Thats not completely true.
BCH has extremely low fees at the moment because noone is using it. BCH blocks are about 100 kB big currently..
In the early times of BTC you could send transactions with zero fee, which still got confirmed. Until blocks are full, no statement can be done.

'Faster payments' is a relative term. Block generation time is the same (~10 mins; BTC and BCH).
Payments are not faster in any of those two chains (considering same initial situation).

Segwit already increased the blocksize to 2MB (and up to 4MB) in a soft fork.
This also allows for more TX/s and lower fees.. But if people aren't using segwit, its their own fault.
5134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction stuck Since 2 weeks, need HELP on: December 29, 2017, 12:34:09 PM
Do you have any accelerator transaction to suggest ?

Unfortunately viaBTC (https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/) is the only working TX accelerator currently.
The other 'free' accelerator services aren't working currently. Its basically just an interface without any use.

You could try (given that you didn't sent all of you coins OR you are in control of the recieving address) a Child-pays-for-Parent (CPFP).
When performing a CPFP you create a transaction with the unconfirmed change/coins of your 1st transaction as input and one of your addresses as output.
This transaction needs to have a fee which is high enough to cover the fees of both of your transactions.
A miner will then (if its worth to him - which is the case with a high enough fee) include both of your transactions into his block.

To perform such a CPFP you have to import your seed into a wallet which allows to chose the 'coins' to send from (e.g. electrum: https://electrum.org/#home ).
For a suitable fee look at https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ and double it (since you need to pay for 2 TX's).

5135  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Have i been scammed using Shapeshift.io on: December 29, 2017, 12:20:53 PM
.. i checked the blockchain and the transaction to the shapeshift address they gave me was laying unconfirrmed with no confirmations, so i heard i could rebroadcast it too the miners and also use the ViaBtc tranaction accellerator ..

Rebroadcasting your transaction doesn't get your TX confirmed faster.
Rebroadcasting just means you send the transaction to every node connected to yours.
This is done when (some) nodes dropped a transaction out of their mempool (they 'forgot' about it), to get the transaction spread across the network again.

Your transaction was in the mempool of the nodes (it didn't got dropped). It just took some time until a miner decided to include your TX into a block.

.. and the shapeshift address i sent the payment to, looks like as spent my btc to another address on the blockchain..
.. is this normal that the SS address i sent the payment too as forwarded it on to another address where it lies unspent..

This is pretty normal that services 'forward' your deposit. They may payed out another user, or 'reorganized' their coins.

Unfortunately Shapeshift is the only one able to help you :/

.. i opened a support ticked with them and they have stopped replying back to me ..

So they did reply to you (at least once) ? What did they reply? Did they approve your deposit?
5136  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to browse the internet and run suspect software safely? on: December 29, 2017, 12:06:11 PM
I mean if Sandboxie does the same job as VirtualBox and VMware, than I'd rather jsut use Sandboxie as it's so simple and fast.

Sanboxie might be simplier and faster to set up.. but security-wise it is pretty weak.
A huge amount of exploits have been found in 2013. Since then a lot of improvements have been done.
But i wouldn't rely on the 'features' of sandboxie. VM's would definetly be safer.
You can read more about the vulnerabilities/attacks on sandboxie here: https://bromiumlabs.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/application_sandboxes_a_pen_tester_s_perspective2.pdf

But you should always keep in mind that a PC connected to the internet is never a safe way to store your coins.
You should only store an amount on your hot wallet PC which you can afford to lose.
5137  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S Signatures on: December 28, 2017, 07:08:16 PM
Im not sure what you exactly mean by 'break down the exact process of signatures' ?
If you are talking about signing a message with the nano s:

  • Open Bitcoin Chrome app + Bitcoin app on nano s
  • Click Settings (top right corner) -> Tools -> Sign Message
  • Choose the address you want to use to sigh the message from the drop down menu
  • Put your message into the message box
  • Click on 'Sign'

Or did you mean the signing of transactions?
The rough process looks like this: Create Transaction on PC -> Approve TX on your nano s -> Transaction is being signed by the nano s -> TX is being broadcasted
This process is done 'automatically'. You just have to enter the TX details and approve it on your device.
5138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Rescanning Bitcoin Core wallet files on: December 28, 2017, 05:40:00 PM
You can either
1) Check all addresses 'by hand' in a block explorer or
2) Write a small script which automatically extracts all addresses of your files and checks the balance via an API

The second option is more suitable for 'larger' amounts of wallets..
For an API you can check https://blockexplorer.com/api-ref or https://blockchain.info/de/q.
Python is pretty straight forward when writing small scripts like this. Depending on which languages (if at all) you are able to code.
Without coding knowledge i think 1) would be the (probably) fastest way.
5139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Faster way to recover bitcoin core wallet re: verifying blockchain on: December 28, 2017, 05:27:14 PM
If you want to use core as your wallet furthermore you will have to sync the blockchain.
But if you just want to export the private keys and import them into another wallet (e.g. electrum[1]) you can using these commands in the console of core:

Code:
walletpassphrase YOUR_PASSWORD
to unlock your wallet (if encrypted), and:
Code:
dumpwallet c:\path\to\your\dumped\privkeys.txt
to dump all of your private keys into a .txt file.

Afterwards you can copy all of your private keys from the .txt file and import (of better: sweep) them into electrum.
To do this you have to (after creating a new wallet in electrum) go to the Wallet menu -> Private keys -> sweep.
You can paste all your private keys at once (one per line).

After sweeping your coins, all of your btc's will be sent to the electrum wallet (No longer backed up by your core-backup).
So, in this case, make sure to backup your electrum-wallet (12-word seed phrase when creating wallet).

Processing 200gb of data is bad and it will only get much worse.

What? Who has to process 200 gb of data? A node when downloading/verifying blockchain the first (and only) time Huh
Kinda senseless statement.

Repeat this 20,000 times you see why it costs 90KWH of electric just to process 250 bytes of data

Could you please provide a source for your statement of 90 KHW for 250 bytes of data?
This seems like purely made up out of thin air.. Processing 250 bytes of data takes less than 1WH... not sure what you are talking about..

BLOCK-CHAIN DOES NOT SCALE and having a two tear system using lighting and hubs (Banks) giving out IOU's
is not the answer and it will create more trouble than it solves.

Please.. either:
1) Provide any proof for your assertion or
2) Just stop writing nonsense

Payment channels are far far away from banks.
Its fully decentralized (If you think the lightning network will lead to centralization, then please use google and start reading some scientific articles).

Read up on IOTA Tangle..

Yes.. IOTA is the way to go. With all of those network issues.. With all of those vulnerabilities to (almost) free attacks.
If you are so confident about IOTA's tangle, just sell all of your BTC's and move over to IOTA..
