5141  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Merit for Legendaries and Mods on: May 24, 2018, 09:03:31 PM
I think merit nowadays is really hard to obtain, I've been posting informative post before but still doesn't get merit from anyone who has to give. I don't really understand how it works, maybe you need to post a quality novel about crypto so that they can see your post, and at least they will give merit to you. I think helping people to rank up is more glorious than collecting all merits with your quality post. How about those people that do not know how to construct English, is there any way they can get a merit?

Look at my merit page. You will see that I give plenty of merit to non-English speakers.
5142  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Seriously, why would anyone want $20 Billion Dollars? on: May 24, 2018, 08:58:31 PM
Guys, we are all so poor that our dreams don´t extend beyond "a few millions". There are things out there that are really cool and cost much more. Not that I know of many, but if you want to f*king cry go here

See... confortable middle class now looks terribly boring, don´t you think?
5143  Other / Serious discussion / Re: If crypto in the future is the world currency, what about the government? on: May 24, 2018, 08:52:00 PM
It would be interesting to see the decentralization of government and governing. Currency is a good start

Why don't you take a google-look to the project Bitnation Pangea and how an existing Native American Nation is going to use for self government? It shows how anyone can now create a have virtual nations with citizens with a governance system on the blockchain.

That's really interesting, wondering how it'd actually work on a big scale

I don´t know. I own 1 Million tokens... I think is like... 50 USD  Grin  I just wanted to be part of it. Maybe I will make the Voluntary Decentralised Republic of "Paxmania" and see how it works

Maybe Theymos decides one day to create another level like "Mythical" or "Shatosi´s Secret Son" so even Legendary members may "need" merit for the future. In any case, I reward by quality, but I am more forgiving with the first one or two points to welcome new members.
It's undeniably good to hear Mythical or something like that. But I've seen moderators who have different titles below their name called custom title. I think it's okay with that, it's somehow like that in a way. Like the "Lambhorgini Member" of hilariousandco. That's awesome

Yes, I have seen that one, it´s a good one definitely.
5148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Be patient for your profit on: May 23, 2018, 06:14:18 PM
It took 9 years for Bitcoin to become what it is today. Many people sold early and still made a profit, but today, that we commemorate the first pizza sold for bitcoins, it is clear that hodling makes sense.
5149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves future on: May 23, 2018, 06:09:23 PM
I used to like WAVES but now I think that it will never lift up. It means that you can hodl as much as you like, but the interest for leasing is ultra-low and the prospects are not better than that.
5150  Local / Mercado y Economía / Re: Coinbase quiere obtener licencias bancarias on: May 22, 2018, 09:03:18 PM

5152  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Vitalik Buterin fue perseguido por Google on: May 22, 2018, 08:56:20 PM
5153  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Iranians moving out billions in crypto due to sanctions on: May 22, 2018, 08:47:51 PM
Moving all ones money in to cryptocurrency is damn too risky. There are many if(s) in between, as crypto market is very volatile. They options must be very thin for them to resort to this measure.

Dear friend, if you live in a country with hyperinflation cryptos are a risk, but staying in the oficial currency is the certainty of loosing all.
5154  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How to handle deposits on a turn based multiplayer game on: May 22, 2018, 08:41:49 PM
Either I am missing something or the solution is very obvious: You need a smart contract to handle all that. That is how most of the betting on the blockchain is being done and you can use Ethereum, NEO and many other "programable" chains.

Why don´t you take a look a the diagrams on this white paper and search open source projects with keywords "provably fair betting".

5156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can I stop hodling already and buy something? on: May 22, 2018, 12:58:28 PM
That is a very personal thing. Once you reach your objectives you can as well sell everything, but until then choose a combination of some income now and a little for the future and you should have a good feeling all along.
5157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty campaign - waste of time or great passive income? on: May 22, 2018, 12:57:11 PM
A campaign is not passive income, it is work for money. It can be very well paid if you are a senior member and you have a good eye to choose the right ICO at the right time.
5158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best Social Media for promoting an ICO ? on: May 22, 2018, 12:56:01 PM
None of those. The best media is this forum and possibly other like steem, reddit. You need targeted and trusted advertising here, not just anything that sound good and brings no money.
5159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to detect scam ICOs ? on: May 22, 2018, 12:54:27 PM
Normally it will be the team and advisors background check the item that will give you the best reference to detect scams. Small teams, no videos, no public appearances,... all that is a serious symptom.
5160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Be aware of KYC on: May 22, 2018, 12:53:12 PM
KYC is a procedure that many ICOs implement. It is normal due to the uncertainty in regulations and the multi-jurisdictional scope of most ICOs. However, as investors, we have a serious problem with this, because everytime we want to invest, we have to upload yet another copy of our ID.

If I get scammed and lost my ETH or NEO... well, I can live with that. But if I am scammed and my identity is stolen, the damage can be extreme. Paypal accounts, credit cards, bills, services... the economic disaster can be huge.

What is the solution to this? I have read a bit about projects like CIVIC or The Key, but it seems that ICOs are reluctant to use these. WHY? As investors, we deserve to be treated with maximum care.
