5141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coronavirus is ravaging a large portion of cryptocurrencies. Is this permanent? on: March 13, 2020, 08:26:48 PM
Corona virus is not only affecting cryptocurrency, even the stock market is affected as well, as a matter of fact almost every sphere of live is affected, businesses, trades, tourism and even football, everything has to an extent come to a halt, countries are checkmating entrants into their shores.

But just like other pandemics that has ravaged the world, for example the Ebola virus, this one will also with time be completely eradicated. The health systems of the various countries of the world deserve to be credited with how this scenario is handled, I believe it's only a matter of time till we see the last positive case of the virus.

the reason it's good to look beyond what's written on whitepaper and ask the team tactical questions to ascertain their level of knowledge on what they want to build. Most of the times they will ignore such questions, ban the person or even give irrelevant answer.
The managers and the team many times are proactive and they usually have laid down/already prepared answers to possible questions they will be expecting from their investors, so they despatch answers to questions asked expertly and without any troubles, which would not make the project a success or make them do or achieve any of the answers they gave to the questions they were asked.

What this is to say is that investors should not always judge the legitimacy of the project with the way the team answers questions they are asked or with how knowledgeable they may seem, it may just all be a scheme.
5143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 13, 2020, 04:20:10 PM
Football matches aren't won by statistics as there're different strategy to win a matches. A team might decide to sit deep to defend and counter attack their opponents when the opportunity presents itself resulting to them most likely winning the game. Atl Madrid are known for doing exactly that. That Liverpool dominated most stats is mostly due to the fact Atl Madrid allowed them to.
And Liverpool are also not a team that dominates when it comes to possession, they are mostly an all out attack team, relying mostly on plenty of crosses. Atheletio made them dominate possession just as you said, they(Athletico)love to sit back, tighten up their defense and are decisive in attack, this presented a field day for Liverpool to dominate the possession and boss the game.

To be fair to Liverpool, they should have won the game, they were the better team and should have scored more goals than Athletico, but in football a second can change anything, sadly Adrian turned out to be the villain at the end of the day as Diego simeone and his men progressed. Liverpool have only the EPL to win now, not as successful as they would have wanted I'm sure.
5144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's price, and mental health. on: March 13, 2020, 02:19:40 PM
Dismay, uncertainty and fear are great 'killers' and can even lead to more loss for an investor after they must have pressed the panic button, it hasn't been too long bitcoin price was at the range value of 3-4k, but the market saw a welcome improvement to around 9-10k, but it all seems like we are back to the nadir once again, but it's not anything to die for, it's unstable and that's certain, it will also go back up and also inevitably also go low again, it's something like a circle we are used to already.

If you want to pull out, do so, but if you want to recover if you are already in a loss, be patient.
5145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Share]: Satoshi's Original Whitepaper Audiobook on: March 12, 2020, 04:48:16 PM
I'm not sure what the community consensus would be on this; but a rewrite of the Bitcoin whitepaper aimed at introducing complete beginners to the world of cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin might be helpful.
Maybe if it's not made to look like it is a rewrite of the bitcoin whitepaper, but an introduction of another version a lot of users would support the idea. The bitcoin whitepaper is a hallowed piece and proposing a rewrite of it may send a wrong message to people. naming it: Introducing an abridged, easier to understand version of the bitcoin whitepaper would sound better imo, I support this idea, it will be easily assimilated by newbies.

5147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 10, 2020, 03:21:25 PM
Leipzig vs spurs is a very open match with either teams still at 50/50 chances to qualify.
Leipzig has the upper hand Imo, definitely not 50/50 for me, they came to England and beat spurs, getting themselves a very important away goal, they have one foot in the quarter final, they just need to complete the job tonight.

I am not giving spurs any chance at all in this game, their recent performances has been far from impressive and I'm tipping Leipzig to win this second leg, completing a clean sweep, home and away. If this happens, Mou will come under real criticism, if he/spurs can't win a round of 16 game against Leipzig, then why did spurs sign him?
5148  Economy / Lending / Re: Crypto loans and trading on: March 08, 2020, 04:00:04 PM
You should take a loan from the bank, convert it to cryptocurrency and invest with it, or borrow from those who know and see you in real life. You cannot take loans on the forum just yet, you are a newbie and newbies who ask for loans are suspected to be scammers.
5149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: negative trust on: March 08, 2020, 01:36:12 PM
You cannot remove a feedback yourself, if you are givien a negative feedback by any user, the feedback can only be changed by the user who tagged you. Though if the feedback doesn't hold any ground and the user who puts it refuses to change it, then other members on DT can give counter feedbacks(positives)against such ratings.

The advantage of a genuine negative rating is that it protects other users or visitors of the forum from such user, they would learn that the forum distrusts such member and it could save them from falling into grief if they trade with such user. Though there are a lot of erroneous feedback flying around the forum so LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system is a must read.
5150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of good marketing on: March 08, 2020, 08:35:52 AM
BTT Signature campaigns aids projects and ICOs in advertising their coins and awakening people's consciousness to their products. But how can we judge the efficacy of this strategy; for the project, it's of a good benefit to them, many people get to know what they are all about and maybe cajoled into investing.

But this adverts don't change anything for the investors, they are still swayed into investing in wrong coins, probably because they had an impeccable method of catching investors. The good coins many a time and oft do not even need to go through the hassles of rigorous advertisement, I do not fancy adverts as a means of success, it could even be deceitful.
5151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 06, 2020, 04:23:39 PM
I think the biggest & most exciting game this weekend is the Manchester Derby. I’m really excited to watch this match, hoping it’s a really attacking game, full of goals.
With City you can always be sure of a real attacking game, because they are one of the best attacking teams in the world at the moment, pep has a way of moulding his teams to be monstrous in attack, doesn't he. Solskjaer got the better of pep in the first leg, I believe City will repay that favor.

Winning the league isn't possible for any of the two teams, just the UCL qualification battle, and with city already our due to ban, all this just reduces the importance of the game. I think if there was more to play for, the game would have been much more interesting that it would be, bragging rights is all that matters now
5152  Other / Meta / Re: Question: Why is my thread move to Off-Topic? on: March 06, 2020, 01:40:32 PM
Cheesy Cheesy Damn it, can't you tell the difference between them? The topic being moved does not have any relevance to cryptocurrencies, do you feel that?...
I don't know why it was moved, though there may be a substantial reason(or maybe a mistake)but I don't think it's because it's "not relevant to cryptocurrency", there are many threads that aren't relevant to cryptocurrency that are in the B&H board: Rank up, introductory and even giveaway threads, for me OP's guide is even closer to being related to cryptocurrency than alot of threads there. A global moderator can help clear the air on why it was moved anyway.
5153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Indiscipline and Greed on: March 06, 2020, 10:16:03 AM
What if after a successful trade, the person opens up a new trade and is still successful in it, would you still call the person greedy or would you say such person is lucky for that particular day. I just gave this illustration to show you how two sided trading can be.

I know many time and again people get too confident and maybe forget about caution when trading, it can have a really unpleasant outcome. But for me as long as you're investing what you can afford to lose then there's no problem with that,  just stop when your losses are now accumulating or exceeding your limits.
5154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do On-chain Activities Suggest Bitcoin Volatility Will Continue? on: March 06, 2020, 06:51:51 AM
Bitcoin will always have high price volatility. A more stable bitcoin is not possible, but if this happens, it will already be a completely different bitcoin that does not match the vision of Satoshi Nakamoto.
I don't think volatility is part of the visions of Satoshi, there has been an incessant/unceasing debate as to between stability and volatility which is the most  behooveful for bitcoin enthusiasts, for now it's more volatile than stable, and as a result any movement is attributed to a particular phenomena, just like the whales as OP states.

Whales are not actually doing anything wrong just as people are made to believe, most especially the newbies, they do their trading, on a very massive scale and it can turn out to have an inimical effect on the price and affect us who invest with tokens compared to them, if I were to be stocked with the capital they have, I'll do the same and make my profit.
5155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Managers and Shit projects on: March 06, 2020, 04:52:33 AM
Many bounty campaign manager giving fake promise and promoting bad project, some time bounty manager try to make bad thing with some coin by delay distributing for making price down and make bounty participant received with lower value of coin reward from bounty campaign.
When you join a bounty that is shady and just like the bounty manager you promote it, you also become culpable of the same violation, is it then the "crime" of the bounty managers alone, I do not believe so. Many users even after warning them about a dishonest project, still promotes it, due to the attractive pay they receive, the forum wouldn't implement what the OP suggests due to the fact that "scams are unmoderated", but users should only work for managers that can be trusted and there are a lot on the forum. There are so many scam projects all around, so the more users just join campaigns at random without any restraint or research, the more it becomes easier to be caught promoting a scam, and that could result in a tag in some cases. If possible work only with reputable bounty managers!
5156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: March 06, 2020, 04:12:33 AM
I think Sociedad is capable of causing an upset, by leading barcelona to 2 consecutive losses this weekend.
Many times in the past, Real Sociedad have pulled up upsets against Barcelona, especially when they play at home and this season there is no better time for them to take something from this game than now, Barca are really struggling for form and consistency, if they drop points in this game they could see themselves falling far behind to Madrid.

It becomes more of a difficult game for them due to their Champions League engagement, they must surely have one eye on Napoli, Barcelona though it must be said have the capability to completely put Sociedad away, let's see the turn of events that'll happen in this game.
5157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Blockchain in Hollywood Movies on: March 05, 2020, 09:45:25 PM
This is really good and I’m expecting more and more movies in Hollywood to be creating awareness for cryptocurrency by doing things that relates to cryptocurrency in their movies. This will, as time goes on, create more awareness and make the government to lift bans on cryptocurrency and allow people to make use of it. Or maybe they will create a cryptocurrency for the people.
I know how important movies/films are in our contemporary society, as a genre of literature and also a source of information and entertainment, if this films that expound the bitcoin will be created even the more, I think the above purpose you mentioned can be achieved through it. This is a somewhat wonderful medium for the cryptocurrency industry to capitalize on.

I'm not that much of a movie freak, but I'll make sure I do watch a couple of the movies listed in this thread at least if not for anything, for the sake or our major concern:Bitcoin

5158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FA Cup and EFL Cup Prediction Thread on: March 05, 2020, 03:46:58 AM
And here is the quarter final draw for the fa cup: Manchester City will play Newcastle, Chelsea face Leicester City, Arsenal battle it out with Sheffield United and Manchester United or derby county will lock horns with Norwich fc, depending on who wins in their game today.

The next round after this, that's the semi final looks to be promising if City, Manchester United(if they defeat derby county), Arsenal and Chelsea all make it past their respective quarter final opponents, I'm sure the FA would be praying for that, as it would definitely be an "all big team encounter" in the final.
5159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Temtum to be the first crypto to be used as a national currency ! on: March 05, 2020, 02:51:39 AM
I think this is just a plan to promote this coin because in order to become a national currency, a lot of people need to accept it and this coin usually cannot be stable for a long time.
Angullia as a nation do not have to promote any coin by making it their national currency, if the news is true to its words, then the government I think has decided to make their own currency and that's very much possible, it would be used within and only in Angullia I think, so that's enough promotion for the coin imo.

I don't know how this will favor a small country like Angullia and if this is an astute move for their economy, digital currency being used with their fiat currency could open doors for economic growth for the nation maybe.
5160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain Bitcoin artwork puzzles to a newbie? on: March 04, 2020, 09:02:13 PM
A puzzle wouldn't be one, if it wasn't difficult to understand or to unclone the hidden meaning, deep thinking and proper understanding of the broader picture the puzzle is under is needed. It's just like a poem, which has to do with the poets deepest thoughts, but with the poets epoch/era/period can be understood.

Many times only the creator of a puzzle can figure out its true meaning and I think that's just the case with the puzzle you shared@OP.
