It surprises me that the developed countries are finding it difficult to contain the spread of the virus yet the underdeveloped countries are puting out with low numbers figure like they got everything under control which obviously that's not the case.

I'm very sure the reason for this is that in those underdeveloped countries, testing facilities are not available/sufficient, they cannot match the number of tests run per day in the more civilized countries in Europe, so when you're not testing citizens, the number will look unrealistically small as it is now. I'm sure if the number of tests run in America or Italy is done in one of this underdeveloped countries, they'll find out how much of a problem they have in hand, but blindly do not know.

Thought as much too, if I'm not mistaking a country like Nigeria (most populous Africa country) with over 200million individuals (occupants) has just been able to complete approximately 7000 tests and from that 7000, they have already recorded over 490+ positive cases with 17 confirmed death. Now since the government are aware they're not carrying out enough test to get the appropriate number of infected individuals why don't they disclose this to their citizens instead of acting like they're truely containing the spread of the virus.

The lockdown won't be around for as long as we all are thinking if not the economy of the world will crash, premier league could have easily resume but I guess they're just trying to comply with the decision of the government body of the United kingdon. Moreover the June/July prediction looks very achievable.

Champions League was the biggest question out of all but the news just rolled out recently with UEFA plans to continue and hold it in August. However nothing is set for real and we still are looking for an official response. I like the plan: remaining legs on 7th and 8th , semis 18-19, 21-22 and final on 27th. Feel like there should be a little more gap between semis leg.

It wasn't that...  I think Poch should've played the transfer windows more to freshen up the squad.  The core players he had were with him for like 4 years or so and had nothing left to give the club anymore.  His last season def showed it.

Well yeah nothing is for sure right now regarding Champions League. It will all depend on how governments will relax down later depending upon situation. Still in August seems pretty much doable, its like 3 or 4 months from now and I think situation with pandemic will be much better then.

Looks like this pandemic is a little down, yes, I hope so because if everything has recovered from co-19 then the activity will be back to normal as before, but every local government will definitely do the best for its people.
Including football in the next 4 months maybe there will be a trial in the match if it is okay then the match will continue as I think this will still happen this season.
This season's trophy really awaits who will win the league in Europe and for the EPL it is clear that Liverpool will win even though it is hampered by a pandemic.

Unfortunately, it is not only about money or test kits available to them neither, sometimes it is more about infrastructure as well. Let's say test kits are free wherever they are made, and could be sent, or better yet we all know how test kits could be produced and shared with the underdeveloped nations, they do not have the facilities to make them or even if somehow they get their hands on some free ones they do not have any sort of number of hospitals or places enough to get thousands of people per day and get them all tested, which is why this is not just about money.

You can have all the money in the whole world, you can have all the tests available, literally one test per person (hell two if you want to make sure) and if you do not have the infrastructure for it, you won't be able to test too much per day.

If the players are able to return to practice mid may then it will be great as it will take a months or two to get back in shape for elite level fitness but these are just expectations, even though some of the countries are seeing some improvement i doubt we will see anything soon.

Three to four month from now is a realistic situation for some of the sporting events to continue especially team sports.

Facts: despite their awful record over the past decade (finishing in mid table and even in relegation zone a few times), Newcastle FC used to be a pretty strong team. In the early 2000's they had peak Alan Shearer and the team was qualifying to Champions Leagues and UEFA Cups again and again. In the 90's they won the league title and were runner-ups twice.

It’s therefore refreshing to hear that the potential new owners are willing to spend on new players, and will almost certainly break our transfer record more than once doing so. What’s more key is that they will also oversee the regeneration of the city, something that was hugely overlooked

I think one of the positive points in this whole story is to have a renewed team with new good players bought from different leagues that can compete for a Champions League spot.

If we have vaccine then its possible otherwise its going to take some long time as many governments already announces they will not take any risk until we have vaccine about this Corona.

We all know it's not possible for a vaccine to be out by June or July, maybe even this year. So what the league is trying to do is figure out which option will be best, one way or the league needs to be finished, I think around the time they are speculating, things may be much better than it is now, with lesser risks and fewer cases discovered daily, that will give them the opportunity to slowly restart the league, with an empty stadium and a lot of precautionary measures in place.

Top six could be possible, but maybe not even straight away. Money is an important part of football and if Newcastle can get the money in, it'll be good for them, but they would still not be able to attract the best players, they would get players better than their current squad now but not top class players.

It is the best decision for now. Alot of people is infected by the covid19 right now and all those football player wont take a risk as well. If they could just play the remaining game without tons of people watching them then they would be happy to do that in the given pandemic condition

Obviously the rest of the current season will be played behind closed doors but I’m interested in two things -

1.) When will the 2020/21 season start if the current season finishes in maybe August?
2.) When will fans be allowed to start going to games again next season?

^  The 2020/2021 season could start later and be shortened by a couple of months.  And it'll probably safe enough in some areas to get people out in crowds again by then.

1. If the conditions keep improving up until then, the league would want to maximize that and resume a fresh season with a short interval in-between.
I think it's also dependent on what's going on in other countries, the UCL is the elite competition and all clubs would want that restarted as soon as possible.

2. Not very soon imo. Large public gatherings would likely only be possible when; a vaccine is create or when the pandemic is completely quelled in that nation.
