5141  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] @manhunterBTC promising 10% daily return! on: January 03, 2021, 06:07:07 PM
This account probably changed hands or it was hacked recently and he woked up after long period of inactivity and changed email address/password.
That was exactly my thought, but based on those few posts that he made since he reactivated it seems to me that it could be the same person. In the end, whether account changed the owner is not so important as it's simply impossible to trust anyone who offers you 10% daily profit.

Since @manhunterBTC failed to provide any reasonable explanation and because I think that anyone who invest in this scheme will loose the money, i am raising the flag against him. Please support

5142  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] @manhunterBTC promising 10% daily return! on: January 03, 2021, 01:37:34 PM
Also the guy who vouched me there is a guy i ve been working with for a while and he can post his btc adress so you can see his daily profits, its really high by now...
So you want to say that he is working with you for a while but he just pretends that he doesn't know anything about you or your business in order to get other people interested, doing basically shill job? You do understand that's dishonest and misleading?

Beside that, your business model doesn't make much sense. You expect us to believe that you are capable of making people double their money in only 10 days by buying discounted gift cards? How can you even guarantee return if it depends on the amount of gift cards you are able to sell? My guess is that your business model will go on until there is constant influx of new investors. Once that stops (and it will very soon) you won't be able to pay 10% daily ROI. That's basically  definition of a ponzi scheme.

If it looks like a ponzi scheme and sounds like a ponzi scheme then almost certainly it is a ponzi scheme.
5143  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Warning] @manhunterBTC promising 10% daily return! on: January 03, 2021, 07:22:22 AM
What happened: User manhunterBTC wakes up after long break, changes password&email and starts  promising 5-10% daily return to all those that invest in his scheme where he allegedly resells gift card that he buys with big discount.

This is how he explained his scheme.

I am doing this type of service for a year already privately with a few people but others keep asking me if they could add their friends into this service and I was thinking about it and decided to open this discord server to make this bigger and so everyone can make more money and benefit.

So what am I doing exactly?

I am able to buy World Wide Gift Cards such as Steam, Amazon, Hotels.com, Walmart at an amazing  rate from my contact.

When I say amazing rate I mean 35-50% off depending on for how much I buy in total. After that I am reselling them for a greater %, depending on for how much % they were bought on legal platforms and make profits with that.

s this project have to make daily money for everyone, I have to set the minimum money to put into my wallet to deal with:

30$ - Minimum Investement / 5 % Daily
100$ + - Investement / 10 % Daily

That means, you will put 100$ in and you will be getting 10$ (10%) every day until you decide to withdraw these 100$.
You can choose if you want me to send you daily 10$ to your BTC adress, or you want to coumpound those money and withdraw it later.

First of all, how can someone promise specific daily return if he is just reselling gift cards, so profit naturally depends on how much he gift cards he sold that day. Another big red flag is the fact that account woke up after almost one year break, changed email address & password and started offering this "service".

One more suspicious thing  is one account that is pretending to be interested in all this, alden. That account also woke up from the longer break, and prior going on break  he was active in the same thread as @manhunterBTC. Coincidence? I think not.

Let's not forget one newbie account that registered just so he can vouch for @manhunterBTC

Have been working with him for some time now.
Made my initial investment back and now I'm into profits.

If I am adding something good and informative and trying to give a good information so how it can plagiarism.
Maybe Lucius was right and you really don't understand what plagiarism is, so let me explain you.

Every time you are copying someone else's work without providing link to the original source, you are plagiarizing. Furthermore, when you are copying someone else's text  you are supposed to put those parts inside quotation marks so it is immediately obvious to everyone which are your own words and which are copied parts.

An example: You stumbled upon an interesting article and you want to share it with bitcointalk members. Proper way is to copy paragraph or two (and properly format it using quotation marks), share the link to the article and then you leave your own personal opinion on the matter. There is  no need to copy whole article, as those interested can always read the article on the website.

5145  Other / Meta / Re: Isn't that plagiarism anymore? on: January 02, 2021, 04:51:02 PM
Since the user has publicly thanked for the warning and promised not to repeat the same mistake, and he still does - I don't think he understands what plagiarism is, there is no other explanation. It seems that I will also join those who will report his posts, because it is really not clear to me that there is still no penalty for and more than an obvious violation of the rules.
That would be a logical conclusion given his behavior and ignoring the warnings, but based on his post history somehow I think that he is perfectly aware of what he is doing. In the last month or so since he registered, he created more than 20 topics and you will agree that's quite a lot for a new forum member. My guess is that this is just an older user trying to farm the merit and somehow get to signature campaign once he reaches at least Member rank.

So far he had more luck than brain to avoid ban for plagiarism, but I hope that changes soon and he gets what he deserved weeks ago.
5146  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Godisnji pregled aktivnosti domaceg podforuma on: January 02, 2021, 03:32:35 PM

Ne mozes samo tako olako prepustiti "spammer of the year" titulu Cheesy
5147  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptomint9 not a plagiarist? on: January 02, 2021, 10:44:58 AM
I did not write to him in a personal, but several times left messages in his threads. I don't know what to do with it. Probably, to stop his plagiarism, I need to pay him, maybe then he will become more attentive to the rules.
But seriously, I have doubts about its adequacy.
Then you did what you could, and he can't even say that he didn't know about the issue (not that would absolve him anyway) as he continued doing the same thing, and probably won't stop until he gets banned. To quote one line from a classic movie, "Some men you just can't reach".

I also reported  to mods that last plagiarism case, hopefully that helps and he gets removed from this forum. At least until he comes back with a new account.
5148  Other / Meta / Re: Isn't that plagiarism anymore? on: January 02, 2021, 10:25:17 AM
I honestly can not understand why many users find it so difficult to indicate the original source.
Bitcointalk is the only forum I frequently visit that even cares about plagiarism, and in many cases it's just very convenient to quickly show a certain text.
My experience is exactly the same, bitcointalk is the only forum that I know where plagiarism is taken seriously. But, even on other forums, reputable and experienced members simply  don't plagiarize (and when I say they don't plagiarize that means they are also formatting copied text properly) no matter the rules. That is just matter of basic posting etiquette and I wish more people realize that.

That would be a great idea. I honestly can not understand why many users find it so difficult to indicate the original source.
I see at least two reasons:
  • Ignorance. For many this is the first forum they ever used so they don't know what's the proper way to deal with copied material and how to format copied text properly.
  • Merit fishing. If you indicate right from the beginning that what you are sharing is copied material, chances for merit goes down. Especially if you don't add anything of your own.
5149  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptomint9 not a plagiarist? on: January 02, 2021, 09:27:35 AM
@lovesmayfamilis I know that it probably won't have any effect, but have you tried contacting @Cryptomint9 (beside leaving him neutral tag), explaining him that what he is doing is wrong and that he should stop with this because he will most likely get banned? I know that ignorance is not a valid reason for breaking the forum rules, but I am just curious why he keeps doing the same thing.

I think plagiarism rules need an update. It's not that difficult to start a copied text with "I copied/translated this from xx", followed by quote-tags.
+1

Either expand the plagiarism rule or at least forum staff should start deleting all those copy/pasted walls of texts that weren't formatted properly. Rule nr 1 says "No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads." so there is already basis for deletion.
5150  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Operand- scammy DeFi that copied another DeFi content! on: January 02, 2021, 09:04:44 AM
I'm wondering if 2021 is going to be the year of extreme DeFi hype--my guess is that I can answer my own question in the affirmative, because I've already seen quite a few of these plagiarism cases among DeFi projects, and that's in addition to some that had fake team members and the usual methods of either scamming, stealing from other projects, or just being plain lazy.
I personally don't think that DeFi craze will slow down any time soon as 2021 looks very bullish and might end up like 2017. It is true that an average scammy DeFi is even worse than an average scammy ICO as back then they at least had whitepaper and other basic stuff, and now you don't even have that. Add on that huge increase in popularity of DEX exchanges so every shitcoin can reach traders easily.

I'm pretty sure some of the DeFi project devs had their hands in the ICO insanity as well, and I wouldn't expect them to change their methods.
Yep, I would be surprised if that's not the case. If something yield them result they will certainly come back for more. Scammers always adapt to the current market situation fast so whatever it's current hype, you can be pretty sure that they will shop up, whther it's ICO, STO, IEO and now DeFi.

5151  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Operand- scammy DeFi that copied another DeFi content! on: January 01, 2021, 05:01:12 PM
If I may add, although perhaps a bit pointless, they're not only copying part of wp or something like that, the very concept of RFI themselves were copied.
Oh yeah, they totally ripped off  Reflect Finance. Operand doesn't have a singe original thought on their website. Worst of all, that doesn't mean that they won't manage to dump their shitcoin to some unsuspected fool via Uniswap, as seen many times before.

They know that an average trader on Uniswap won't bother with such things as originality, whitepaper or team, so why should they waste time and money making their own content?

To all those  that are considering accepting the job that @altcoin_user is offering, I just wanted to let you know that I just tagged and flagged him for promoting scammy DeFi that took basically everything from another DeFi.  I guess he is looking for someone to promote the same project, Operand. For more info check the link below
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5305493.0

Just one quick example of what I am talking about. Comparison between Operand and Reflect Finance ANN, textbook plagiarism case.

Enhanced ROI

Innovations in the OPERAND smart contract allow certain addresses, like the Uniswap pool or exchange wallets, to be blocked from earning fees.

Because of this, 100% of the fees generated go to holders of the token. The percentage of fees you earn is calculated by the percentage of RFI that you own among holders. This generates a much higher yield than would be possible otherwise.[/b]

5155  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM] Operand- scammy DeFi that copied another DeFi content! on: December 31, 2020, 07:49:08 PM
What happened: Operand is yet another scammy DeFi made in haste by copying website content of another DeFi, Reflect Finance. No whitepaper, no team, basically nothing, just plagiarized content and that's about it. There is only one way this lazy attempt can end up, and that's people loosing money and creators disappearing and probably coming back with a new DeFI copy/paste under different name. Therefore, I am tagging and flagging @altcoin_user!

5156  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Statistika lokalnog foruma on: December 31, 2020, 12:45:50 PM

5157  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Statistika lokalnog foruma on: December 31, 2020, 09:55:52 AM
Cestitke, i vise nego zasluzeno!

Before reporting spammers it's a good idea to check bpip to see whether user has been banned/nuked. Alternatively you can use bpip browser extension which will enable you to see who's been banned (and few other useful info) without leaving bitcointalk.

Next time when you come across similar spammer you can report it to [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly.
5159  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Thinking of joining the HEX campaign? Think again. on: December 30, 2020, 08:19:04 AM
Same as bitcoin , its not even useful as a currency anymore, high fees and doesn't scale. Its just hoping someone buys it for a higher price.
I find it amusing how supporters of scammy shitcoins like to use bitcoin as an argument. So if they decide to have anonymous team while asking people to invest then it's because "creator of bitcoin was anonymous too" or if whole concept looks scammy then they like to say "some people think of bitcoin as scam too" and other similar bs.

While some people use bitcoin for speculation, that's just one of the use cases, which can't be said for hex because it's the only use case making it just another pump&dump shitcoin.

The colonel has been trading for more than 3 months and so far only positive dynamics according to statistics. Trust or not, buy or not - it's a personal matter. We remind you once again that any trade on any cryptocurrency exchange has risks.
And I am saying again, it doesn't matter for how long your shitcoin has been traded on waves exchange and it doesn't make it any less of a scam than it is already. What you did is like me making some shitcoin and getting it listed on Uniswap, while saying that Ethereum and Vitalik Buterin are behind that without any proof whatsoever. And then claim that it legitimate because there is some volume  there (you are probably faking that too).

You haven't provide evidences to your allegations that Rikafip or other high ranked members were blackmailing you. I'm waiting.
He can't provide anything, all he can do is repeat that nonsense about being listed like that's a sign of legitimacy. He keeps ignoring questions about Bisk too, pretending like that never happened.
