Filtering through applications now. Have filled up 60% of the campaign so far. There are still open slots for almost every rank. Make sure you are following the rules to join folks, I am checking Twitter and Telegram
People are instead posting their ether wallet addresses instead of Nexo wallet addresses. I don't understand.
Maybe you should alert them if it's a vital requirement.

I want to re-enroll if possible
Only 3 senior member positions available right now...
5166  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BitBlender Signature Campaign | Up to 0.0003BTC/Post | Member - Legendary on: January 28, 2019, 04:57:40 PM
will change my avatar if I get accepted.

Just a word of advice; Only apply when @Hhampuz has announced for open slots otherwise, this attempt will just be a waste of time as he usually considers only applications that have been made after the announcement.

Can I connect to and access my Ledger Nano S safely using my iPad (old school, 16gig) with a cable?
Quote
Or can I connect to my Ledger Nano S safely using my iPhone (version 5) with a cable?
As @TryNInja said, it's not possible. The reason is both iPads and iPhones do not have support for the OTG feature. OTG (On The Go) cables allow a device like most Android phones to be able to connect and read other external devices like USB drives. Now without this support, it means your iPhone or iPad won't be able to read your Ledger Nano S as an external device.
5168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new here, how to know good project to invest? on: January 28, 2019, 03:58:35 PM
everyone please guide me, how can I understand which will be the legit and profitable project. Leave your comments here to help.

There is no accurate measure of how profitable the project will be. Demand vs supply dictates everything. But if the project is really good and people start to recognize it, then there is a high chance that it can be profitable if you are an early adopter.
Take an example of Bitcoin; it took some years for it to gain value, the main player was the rise in its demand over the years.

So here are the key aspects;
  • What problem does the project tackle using the blockchain?
  • What blockchain based solution does it have in place?
  • How unique is the solution offered from other solutions provided by other projects before
  • Is the solution offered feasible?
  • How experienced are the team members when it comes to the blockchain technology
  • Is the project adoptable?
  • Is the project in line with the regulations?
    e.t.c
Note: Am emphasizing blockchain technology in my points because it's the newest kid on the block and would love to see it prosper

That said, There are so many articles online which could help you to identify if a project is just scam or legit. I will share a few links here, you can do more research online.
- 10 Ways How to Spot a Scam ICO
- How to Identify Cryptocurrency and ICO Scams

5170  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] YOLOdice.com Signature Campaign on: January 27, 2019, 10:24:49 PM
Am seeing Legendary and Hero Members in Full Member slots... I think it would be nice to have each rank entitled to an allocated number of slots or better still if Legendary and Hero members are much needed more than Full members, then I think completely removing the full member slots would be appropriate so that we know the campaign is only for people with ranks of Senior member and above. I hope this is addressed in the upgrade  Wink
5171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some added development to the forum on: January 27, 2019, 06:49:57 PM
Thanks for sharing, I am a brand new member and I have been on the lookout for a post just like this. Heard the forum is very strict, don't wanna go against the rules.

Yep, one of those posts you should read to avoid being caught on the wrong side is;
Newbies - Read before posting

There is a lot of helpful information around the forum, if something is bothering you, you can either make full use of the search button and search about certain threads where the issue was discussed using keywords or Just simply as in the Help and Beginner's board.
If the question involves issues with Bitcoin Core, nodes, the Bitcoin network, transactions, and addresses, the Bitcoin Technical Support Board will be your friend.

I do feel that an opt-in profile email notification may be an interesting feature which the forum could do with, in order to notify important announcements. I mean we do get the chance to receive notifications for additions to threads we post in, but not for important features such as change in rules, DT structure, and so on.
This would really be excellent, especially for certain members who could be away from the forum for long periods of time. This would help keep them updated if they frequently check email. Imagine coming back to the forum with no knowledge of the changes only to be hit with surprises.
5172  Other / Meta / Re: Weird newbie account with 2 merit wearing avatar? on: January 27, 2019, 06:20:09 PM
The copper membership allows those users to have an avatar. It should be a feature who come with the rising price of that membership. 0.0065 BTC isn't a bad price at all, but maybe the CM thread should be updated because it doesn't mention the Avatar.

I highly doubt this is true, we would already be seeing dozens of Newbies carrying those avatars and with such a change even though it seems minor, Theymos couldn't have forgotten to include this information alongside the price change announcement... but then again I could be wrong.
5173  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't let those spelling mistakes & poor grammar turn your post into a shitpost. on: January 27, 2019, 03:24:35 PM
Another issue the community is facing is the misinterpretation of sentences. I didn't say you say that. I was just letting them know your english must not be like that of the queen before you can write a topic, as far we can understand it you're good.

Perhaps, you are the one misunderstanding the whole point of this post, check yourself before you just conclude randomly.
The purpose of this post is to give an easy and hustle-free alternative to those whose posts and articles are sometimes ruined by a sea of spelling mistakes and to some extent grammar and not;
- Bashing anyone for not knowing enough of the English language
- Discouraging those whose native language is not English from posting in English.
So your reply is completely off the rail here.

I doubt that even a post without any grammatical errors but has low in substance will still be counted as a meritable post.
Haven't you seen shitposts or posts with no content receiving merit yet?  Grin
Topics like How to write a meritable post have been discussed here countless times that why I didn't mention anything about merit. I was just talking about an assistant that can help one clear up some of those spelling and grammar mistakes which one may not be aware of

Who is Mr Jumpy?
His account was hacked back in October 2017, Imagine waiting for over a year and 4 months for your Hero member account be recovered.

my old bitcointalk account which is senior member has been hacked and I have to use this new account,  what should I do? thx!
Hey, try to follow this thread and see if it can help. I listed the steps i took to recover mine with the new account recovery format
5176  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't let those spelling mistakes & poor grammar turn your post into a shitpost. on: January 26, 2019, 04:05:42 PM
There are a lot of crypto related words that come up as spelling errors on my browser.  Even crypto has an incorrect spelling marker underneath it.
Bitcointalk also comes up as a spelling error... those are the kind of words alongside so many crypto related jargons that you just ignore or add to your dictionary

I don't like Grammarly - even the name jars with me. Also, it's primarily American, and that is a colloquial subset of English.
Well, everyone certainly has there own preferences and dislikes, but if you like writing in British English, there is an Option for that too
5177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't let those spelling mistakes & poor grammar turn you post into a shitpost. on: January 26, 2019, 03:57:13 PM
Well, It isn't a must to write (speak english) like the queen of England but as far your readers can understand what you're saying then you're good.
I didn't say one has to write like the Queen. Am just pointing out how one can improve on their posts without much hustle. It's an alternatively and it's not rallying any other person's project here.
Hope you understand.

Some of the users here make good articles but one of the biggest let downs is the spelling mistakes and grammar which end up ruining an excellent article.
They can't be blamed because just like me, English is not their native language.

However, I did try to reduce on the challenge of grammar and spelling mistakes using an addon know as Grammarly. This addon is available on Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Other Firefox and chromium based browser like Brave, Tor e.t.c should be able to install this addon without any challenge.
Even while using a free version of this addon, one can be able to make a very big difference in the posts one makes.

How to Install Grammarly.

  • You can get it on your browser by visiting the official link: https://grammarly.com on a supported browser. You will be able to view a button to download it as shown below

Note: Avoid downloading directly from google searches or browser extension stores without carefully looking at the site to determine if it's the genuine link. This can save you from downloading fake web browser extensions that could compromise your security

  • After downloading the extension, a green round button with a rounded arrow inside it should be visible in the extension bar, Click on it and sign up for a free account
    when you sign up, you will be able to;
    - Save your work and access it from any other computer
    - Save your personal dictionary
    - Choose the preferred sites you would love Grammarly to access

How to use Grammarly

  • Once you have signed up and set it up, you can now start your post writing or commenting using the browser. As you write, green underlines will appear below each word that has a spelling error or a number of words that have grammatical issues and a green circle or sometimes just a dot will appear at the bottom right side of the text box showing the number of errors you have made so far.

You can either correct each mistake by hovering your mouse over the underlined area, Grammary will pop up a word or punctuation suggestion which you can click on and it gets instantly corrected

or you can just click on the green circle or dot to make all the corrections. An expanded window will appear. Click on the " ^ " symbol to see a detailed suggestion and click on the " x " symbol to ignore.

That is it,  with this you should be able to improve your article/post quality. It may not be 100% but it will be much better. Maybe 80% to 90% better quality than your initial article/post quality.
There is also a premium version but I think the free version should be enough unless one really wants to go further and pay for the premium.

Disclaimer:This is not any sort of advert for the Grammarly add-on. this post is just intended for educational purposes on how forum members can improve on their written english
5179  Other / Meta / Re: This is a completely different title on: January 26, 2019, 01:38:46 PM
It's a feature. Without it, there would be no point of showing a title for each post.

Each post gets it's own title, and that doesn't change when the topic title is changed.
And if you quote such a post (try it!), your post copies that title instead of the topic title.

Oh great, thanks for the clarification. Clearly understood.

If you reply now your subject will same if you don't bother to edit.

When OP post reserve that time topic title was Open so it will never change even you change main post title.

That wasn't edited.

Summary is, when you will reply a thread your subject will same as current subject of OP. If OP edit subject it will not change your subject. But you can change only manually if you want.
Thanx for the explanation.

Now locking the topic.

5180  Other / Meta / Thread showing different subjects after editing. on: January 26, 2019, 01:18:54 PM
I couldn't help but notice this;

Topic as shown in OP

Topic as show in replying posts

As you can see, the topic was obviously edited from [OPEN] to [CFNP] but in the thread, the post's subject still remains as [OPEN] which is quite confusing.
- Is this something that should be corrected or it just a forum feature used by users to know what the subject was before it was edited?
- If it is a title/subject history feature, then why don't we just have a view edit history button or link next to the dotted timestamp or Just make the edit history linkable to the dotted timestamp if the post has been edited?
