people are teaming up to manipulate the price

Is this actually happening? I know it was attempted when the downtrend started with the BCX "exploit" etc, but everybody involved lost his shirt, once again proving that teaming up for manipulation a free market is a -EV concept.

This is a hugely important point.  What we are currently seeing is more of a dump and pump than a pump and dump. Wink

why attack now the 0.0017?
protect xmr against unexpected price declines is already a great task.

If there's ongoing discussion of how people are teaming up to manipulate the price in the main discussion thread, people won't think highly of this coin.

lol.  and again lol.  I've been kind of thinking the same thing.

My additional donation of 5,000 XMR is not yet counted (ask David).

And ArticMine's dans are wrong. A higher dan is every time the total amount reaches a figure starting with 1, 2 or 5; so it is logarithmic approximately base 2.

All updated to here, and corrected (I think)  You guys will have to tell me how to order the top.  I believe rpietila is the highest donator, however Articmine reached 8th Dan first.  To this point I have ranked the donors by descending order of time of achievement as opposed to total donated.  I will continue this on lower levels, but if you want the top to look different I don't mind a different logic for that.

Ready!  FIGHT!

All I want is a way to pay for cam girls without my wife potentially finding out--is that too much to ask?

Holy "taint analysis" batman!

I believe I was promised 'coins of gold'.  Are they in the bags?  What type of coins are these, anyway?  I may have been duped!

Don't worry.  Your coins, or bags (whichever it is) are in the mail.

5176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 28, 2015, 03:56:29 PM

this weirdo idea of some experts that bitcoin will be replaced by something better which we should wait for is so brutally flawed that I really wonder what they get their money for.

I see two spaces which will be filled by something other than bitcoin.  The 2.0 smart contracts etc system (counterparty? etherium? nxt?) and privacy.

it should not be a thankless job. thank you for editing  Kiss

And thank you for the thank you! Wink  Sorry I complained, it was meant more "tongue in cheek" than serious.
5178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 27, 2015, 06:03:22 PM
Has it ever been suggested that a portion of the mining block rewards are diverted to pay interest to coin owners who buy 'bonds' those coins are then locked up in a cold storage wallet and can not be accessed for x amount of days - as  a way to encourage the use of Monero as a store of value?

I know Risto is going to chime in with some stuff about bonds in CK but I think working something like this into the code of the coin could be very beneficial.

I believe Aminorex is offering a non-CK bond. There's no reason why that needs to be put into the protocol.

This is hugely important.  One of the beauties of cryptocuurencies is the ability to build whatever you want on top of them.

I just realized I received advice from both a fluffypony and a NeuroticFish Tongue

Thank you both Smiley

Double helpful all the way!

I may use that fish image someday Cheesy especially if the new forum will have some working system for avatars.

I would PAY to change or delete this damn fan avatar.  It's actually a funny story why I have it... but for another thread I suppose. Wink
