5161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: March 16, 2020, 11:49:05 PM
The probably luckiest teams in this whole drama for the moment are Espanyol, Leganes, Mallorca. I mean Spain are one of the most infected countries, it will take much time to recover (+ 4-6 weeks at least), La Liga could be cancelled, so they will not be de-ranked. We may see also new rules like 1-2 game(s) between Barca VS Madrid for the first spot and a mini tournament between 4-5 teams for the CL/EL spots!
These mini tournaments is more likely to happen in Champions/Europa league, it would be strange decision to make such tournament in league. Most likely they will play remaining 11 round and end season much later than planned, maybe in August. The problem that contract of some players ends in June. It means that last teams will relegate to Segunda as usual. But now we have to wait for UEFA decision which will be made today or tomorrow.
5162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2020 Season on: March 16, 2020, 11:32:59 PM
And also, do we not have turkish league spectators on the forum lol  ?

Now that the ban is effective on most europe aside turkey, can we discuss potential turkish league champions ?
Now obviously Turkish league will get more attention, because it's one of few league which didn't stopped to play.
I'm not Turkish football expert, but from what I saw, Basaksehir looks strong, it's very solid team. It's strange to see Fenerbahche far away from Europa zone, but IIRC, they had some financial problems and their squad isn't as good as ut used to be.
But I think it's too early to talk potential Champions, because tomorrow UEFA most likely will stop all leagues in continent.

And you know what's more scarier?

China will host the 2022 Winter Olympics, so it they moved this to 2021 because of the corona virus scare, what's going to happen in 2022?
There is almost 2 year until winter Olympics, I'm sure that until it this sad situation with virus will be dolved.
BTW, there is some positive signs, China Basketball league planning to resume season in start of April and asking foreign players to return. Now China is probably safer place than Europe:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nba/news/chinese-basketball-association-reportedly-told-american-players-to-return-for-end-of-season-or-face-banishment/amp/
I also saw news that Japan also planning to resume their league soon, but can't find link now.

Yes, good point. While the teams in Lithuania probably are used to change between artificial/natural grass by now, I remember some discussions regarding the Europa League, when teams that always play on natural grass had to go for an away game and play on artificial turf there. If I am not mistaken, there are some teams from Switzerland and Norway that play on artificial turf and were participants in Europa League in the past.
As I remember, Young Boys and Astana playing UEFA Champions/Europa league games, some national teams like Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Andorra, Faroe Islands play on artificial grass.
It's big advantage for home team, but actually, most players of home team would prefer to play on natural grass, they don't like plastic pitches, mainly because risk of injury is bigger. From my little experience playing on artificial pitch, it's terrible to play on it when it's hot. If air temperature is 25°C, it feels like over 40°C. And when pitch is frozen, it becomes very dangerous to play.
But UEFA allow such pitches, because not every club/national team can have natural pitch because of severe air conditions or financial reasons.
5165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game on: March 15, 2020, 10:31:24 PM
I hardly can see how Olympics can happen on planned date, even if spread of virus will be stopped soon. There is another problem which wasn't mentioned yet. Probably half of athletes still haven't qualified to Olympics. Most of qualification tournaments were planned to happen now and in next few months. And these tournaments won't happen soon for obvious reasons. So, this is another reason why Olympics probably will be moved to new date, maybe later this year or in 2021.

I always found the "bounty hunter" title so cringy as hell. Definitely no offense to the bounty people, but calling social media spammers "bounty hunters" is like calling janitors "sanitary engineers".
And some social media spammers who have a bit more followers than average boUNTY hUntEr calling themselves as influencers, what is even more cringy.

Since most sports events is postponed, now we have time for this interesting discussion.
When we talk about home court advantage, first thing which comes to my mind is support of local fans. But there is much more things which are ore or less important. In away games players are travelling by planes and buses, they spend time on airports and traffic jams. Offcourse it doesn't help to get rest and prepare for the game. On international games, time zone difference is also a factor.
While home team have advantages - players sleep in their own bed instead of hotel, eat common food, arrive to stadium like every day. They have common suroundings, same dressing room. In basketball even basket rims are different in every arena - it's big factor.
In football, quality of pitch is another factor. Maybe it's less common in top leagues when we almost all teams have top notch pitches, it's more about lower divisions and less popular leagues, when sometimes away team arrive to play in potato field. In some leagues, like in my country, several teams play on artificial turfs - it's huge advantage against teams which play and prepare for the game on natural grass. And vice versa.
On the other, home court isn't always is advantage, because players get additional pressure and players sometimes fail to handle it. First example which homes to my mind is Brazil football team in World Cup 2014. But it's not that frequent cases - there is not so many teams which play better away than at home.
I know Barca has a huge pitch. It was intentionally designed as big as possbile to suit the playing style of them. In german Bundesliga you have Freiburg and the pitch in their stadium has some gradient (it's around 1m iirc), so for one half you would always have to play a uphill a bit.
I knew that pitches have different sizes, but didn't knew that such big difference is allowed. But I may be wrong, but at least in biggest leagues sizes of pitches are pretty much similar size and few meters difference isn't very big factor. Now I can't find all these dimensions compiled into single place and I'm lazy to check wiki page of every stadium.
It's interesting thing about Freiburg pitch, for me it's strange that's allowed on such big level competition.

Quote
In the Copa Libertadores you have these teams from Ecuador (?) and Bolivia that have a huge home advantage, because they play on 3,000m+ altitude. It's extremely hard, even for way superior teams on paper, to play there, because they are just not used to it and struggle like crazy with their breathing.
It's huge factor and in past FIFA had banned games on high altitude, once Argentina lost 6:1 to Bolivia. It's very often to see Argentina or Brazil struggling against these teams and Bolivia and Ecuador are always trying to use this advantage.
As you can see the factor is 1, meaning home advantage doesn't have any influence on any game. Why is that? The Maltese Premier League is a very small league, all games are played in the same stadium, so there is no "home team" at all.
Actually, it's not true, in Maltese Premier League there is 3 stadiums is used https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltese_Premier_League
But probably this fact doesn't makes big difference.

One sport where home field advantage is not such a big factor is ice hockey. But even here there is a different between European ice hockey and the NHL. In the NHL it happens quite often that the better team losses at home against a team who is the underdog. But NHL teams travel a lot and play 3-4 matches a week. This fatigue can also be the reason why such things happen. I like the changes that NHL made for this season. The teams now play a few successive matches at home and than they go for a little away tour. Once this away tour ends and they play in from of their home fans again, surprises happen (yes I am looking at you Colorado).
I think home field advantage is not that big factor in NHL (in NBA too) because of long regular season. Cost of loss isn't that big there, so this is why we see these upsets so often. Things usually change when playoffs begin.

Lithuania announced two weeks nationwide quarantine. It means that borders are closed, all shops, pubs, restaurantswill be closed, except pharmacies and groceries. There is 9 cases of virus right now, infected people came from Italy, Spain, Netherlands and Denmark. One women already recovered and was released from hospital.

While things in Europe looks terrible, especially in Italy where virus spread very fast, there is some positive signs in China, number of virus stopped to grow.
5170  Economy / Goods / Re: KN95 Masks for Friends Family Lovers Protection on: March 14, 2020, 10:12:10 PM

Glad you responded to my post. This is the first time I have published my account in 7 years, and I am a little excited!
Now I see the news that this virus caused a global disaster, but China is now under good control, which makes me very sad! In fact, you are right. Wearing a mask can not absolutely prevent the virus, but according to my feelings in China, it can indeed provide better protection for family and friends. why not? My KN95 product includes the cost of DHL Air Express. Each mask costs less than $ 4, which is not much higher than the price in China. May God bless the epidemic soon, and everyone need not worry!
In addition, DHL Express takes only 1-2 days to receive the goods from China to the United States, which is basically similar to your shopping experience on Amazon. A month is too exaggerated!
Sorry if my post looked offensive. Yes, $4 for each mask isn't very expensive, I've seen much more expensive offers. And by saying about waiting a month for delivery, I didn't knew that you're using DHL for shipping, I thought it's standard delivery by mail.

To join:  https://www.superbru.com/f1/pool.php?p=12232182

Download Superbru app and search for the pool with code:  betsbuck

Here's the thing...  I'll donate a prize for the winner of the F1 pool if I win the EPL pool and if more people join up (I'll let LTU_btc hold the prize).
That's nice from you!. I think I will add some money too if more people will play. So, join the fun!
But for now it's most important to beat this fu*king virus. Seems that there will be long wait for new season, as Bahrain and Vietnam GP's were postponed too :/

I understand that many people now want to make money from Corona virus by selling face masks and respirators for ridiculous price. But as most probably know, it won't protect you from Corona virus, so there isn't many reasons to spend money for these masks. And it will be shipped from China, so it means that you will have to wait ~month for these masks. If you need it urgently, it's not option for you.
5174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 14, 2020, 03:24:35 PM
I really doubt they will cancel the season altogether. The worst that will likely happen is they'll just reschedule the games. Personally I think it's overkill. They could play games behind closed doors but unless everyone in the country is going to stay at home then the disease is still going to spread and it'll end up doing ridiculous damage to the economy as it already has to bitcoin and the stock market. It's probably not much more of a threat than the flu to a fit and young professional athlete anyway. If they do cancel the season though the best thing to do would just be to pay out the winners as the table is now.
Playing games behind closed doors isn't possible because there is already some players and Arsenal manager Arteta infected. Now some teams are closed in quarantine. Offcourse, playing games later is most likely scenario, but first we need to stop spread of virus in Europe. There is some positive signs in China - number of infected people stoped to grow. While Japan already renew their basketball league.
5175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What To Do? (For People Who Mostly Gamble on NBA Games) on: March 14, 2020, 12:53:04 AM
It's not just NBA, almost all competitions stopped. There is currently very few basketball and football leagues which are still in play - Turkey, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia. So, I'm going to switch to watch these leagues and bet on it. But probably it's only matter of time when they will stop too. Maybe Australia is exception, because it's isolated continent and spread of virus is more difficult there.
But I definitely know that I won't start following esports - it's just not for me. I rather just will stop gambling and start to watch movies Cheesy. There is just no more options to spend free time currently when almost everything stopped in my country for virus prevention.
5176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Coronavirus and it’s impact on sporting events - please add on: March 14, 2020, 12:38:50 AM
Just few weeks ago we didn't even thought that such scenario is possible, but now most of sports leagues and competitions around the world is stopped and future of it is very questionable.
From what I see, competition in Europe is still going on in Turkey, Russia, Serbia, Belarus, Ukraine, some Asian and South American countries, most of Africa and Australia. It's probably first time since WW2 when most of competition were forced to stop. It will definitely cost lot of money.
What really will be interesting is the amount of money in sports. As we all know teams pay these players according to how much they make as well. Now that teams in almost all sports will play a lot less but contracts are already out there, I am pretty sure it will be reflected some other way. NBA teams even will pay for not played games for hourly workers let alone others, so people who are hourly will get paid even when they are not working, that has to come out of somewhere. I suspect there will be a lower cap space for next year as well.
There will be huge impact in terms of money. In my country, basketball league made very strange decision - they ended championship in the middle of season and announced champions. It means that league and clubs will get less money from sponsors, less revenue from TV rights. It's force majeure situation and it means that clubs will not pay money to players for remaining months of season...

i notice that only basketball and soccer are mainly affected with the virus problem but why not other sports like swimming , tennin ,volleyball or others  ? maybe because nba and soccer are the most popular in which many people are going to attend it than on other sports  .

this is okay that they cancell the event rather than risking thier selves and become injured or worster thing can happen to them , not only to the players but also the fans and audience also  .
All sports are affected. But obviously, football, basketball, tennis, motorsport get most attention because it's most popular sports. But there is lot of voleyball, handball, snooker, swimming, winter sports, MMA and other fight sports competitions is getting stopped, they just get less attention from media
5179  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening ? on: March 12, 2020, 06:57:28 PM
You don't have to expert to understand what's going on now. And mainly we should blame Corona virus for it mainly. Just look what's going on in stock markets right now. Offcourse it also affect crypto markets. If things are going to developp in current way, I'm afraid that we are going to end in huge financial crisis, maybe even bigger than in 2008.

Speaking about last announced songs, I liked Azerbaijan - it sounds good and I expect it to see it in TOP 10.
Does anyone know when Russia will release their song - I only saw little part of it leaked on Youtube.
What? Where have you seen that please? Do you have a link about that?
They could easily organize it without public or very few public. Eurovision doesn't need all this public and journalists. It's a TV show.
Eurovision without public wouldn't look good, but it's possible scenario. Offcourse, there is plenty of time until May, let's hope that spread of virus will be stopped until it.
