5181  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-13] Bitcoin 2014 – Top 10 predictions on: January 13, 2014, 04:13:19 PM

3. There will be less than 5 alt-coins (out of the 50+ in existence) that will survive 2014

This will be wrong.
Also , there are already 100+ right now.

You're looking at the wrong building Smiley
It's the next block down the road

I blame this mistake on Google. Apologies.

Ignore previous rant.

Let's all be friends Smiley.

Apologies accepted Smiley.
Indeed google shows the 66 at that picture you've showed.

But it seems that in 2012 the space where alpha is supposed to be now was for rent.
Maybe legit... they went to the trouble of setting an office for a scam ? And for a scam that isn't bragging to much about best asics , golden nonce chips like .. you know who , Smiley

Well , life is a gamble after all.

I declare.......

SCAM

The photo in the OP are highly out-dated, assuming they're not shopped. Any fuckin' idiot can do a Google Street Map search of 66 dickenson road, Manchester, and see that that entire corner building has been recently updated.

Google street view pictures are from October 2012 at that location.
5186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'bitcoin is a ponzi scheme and wont last without china'-south china morning post on: January 13, 2014, 03:33:49 PM
Maybe there should be a "no China news day" on the forums? Their puppet government acts more and more like North Korea. Some countries are just doomed, let them swim in their puddle hate until they drown.

Well , if China is doomed , you panda , you're going down with them , no matter if you're a bear or not.
Bitcoin will survive Smiley

I think we're underestimating the effect of this

http://www.coindesk.com/chinese-government-backed-tv-program-bashes-bitcoin-outrages-community/

China still owns the majority of the market, and any of 'our' news like Overstock really doesn't matter to them.

Exchangers from China claim to hold the majority of the market. It's houbi turn to be in the news pretty soon , news like this one

Choo-choos can go downhill too right?

Not in this thread Smiley

good morning, so what is it "again" ? where is the people who yell "really low volume" when the price is going up ? why dont they do the same and yell "price will not go down on low volume" ?  ah sure they want the market to act on their desired direction.....  Cheesy
They're just, like, opinions, man.

opinions and wishes are not the same Wink  I wish the price to be $5000 in a week or so but in my opinion it wont go that high in a week Wink

They are just stating a fact that the volume was low. The volume was extremely low during the initial run up being under 10k in most of the exchanges. Right now most of the exchanges are above 10k and it is still the weekend. Last time there was a run up the volume was low on a weekday. You do not have to be so butt hurt about it.

wrong, wrong, wrong.... it is already Monday here in EU and I am already at work, Bitstamp had +10K most of the time and the day when the price went up the volume was more than 40K Wink and why would I be butt hurt ? I would really love to see the price moving and I don't care which direction, both works for me up or down Wink

This was funny Smiley.
You started the week at work with bitcointalk open?

yes, Bitcoin addiction, and I am an IT engineer so I am on my computer most of the time, so why not check Bitcointalk while working Wink

Well , I'm doing the same , but I can't really claim I'm working while browsing the threads here Smiley)))

1000 is no barrier at all. There is no wall on 1000.

Since 1-2 weeks, EVERYTHING is driven by huobi. The USD markets are completely frozen. MtGox even on 4th place after btc-e, bitstamp and bitfinex on bitcoinity today.

Not again , please ......not again.

Sadly thats true, USD markets have no confidence to set actions.

3 days ago we saw a 2k sell on bistsamp and it was not backed up by huobi. All laughed about this "fail dumper".

No , that wasn't my point.
I believe and I said it so many times that houbi is one big fake. One huge enormous fake.
5192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 11, 2014, 05:49:41 PM
Maybe this whole thing (last 4 weeks) is a huge pump and dump

Sigh... fait is long term pump and dump.

Just hodl.

I've been hodling since 5 USD/BTC
don't know how much longer I can keep doing this

you sold nothing? not even to recoup your investment?

I've sold around 15% of my initial coins
nice profit there
trying to find a way to declare them now to the tax authorities here in Greece
friendly people but keep avoiding responsibility by not answering to my questions

Somebody wants to pay taxes in Greece and the authorities don't help him. This is new:).
As for the hodling part , it seems there are a few spartans left.

Want to expand on why you think Bitcoin being adopted as a currency and form of payment is bad for bitcoin?

I wanna hear this. It should be fun.
OK, let me try.  Who is going to buy at Overstock using Bitcoin?

  • a) Random Joe who has USD but no Bitcoin;

And here I stopped ,  how will average Joe with no BTC purchase something with BTC ?

Second , make your sig font a little bigger

Academic interest in biitcoin only. Not owner, not trader, rather skeptical of its longterm success.

So you never had some btc , you never traded but claim to know about how trade in btc works , and  the last part is no comment.[/list]
5195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 10, 2014, 02:14:04 AM
And much [of China's volume] was fake Tongue

"Fake volume" is someone (possibly the exchange owner) selling to himself, either through one account or multiple accounts.  I suspect that some 5.000 BTC of MtGox's volume was "fake" in this sense, intended to mask the low real volume and/or to convince naive traders that the price was going up.

Robots selling to robots is not "fake volume" if the robots belong to competing traders.

EDIT: 5.000 BTC of MtGox's daily volume

Fake volume is when a chinese exchanger has 400 to 500 btc on the orderbook but claims volume of 50k /day
5196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 10, 2014, 02:09:02 AM
1% of what goat spent at overstock
5197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 09, 2014, 07:29:47 PM
Sorry, I would much rather buy fake virtual credit points for a fake farm game.

Blitz , you're usually "a bear" with arguments but right now you're overdoing it.
5198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 09, 2014, 07:15:52 PM
That almost makes me a little more bearish. Smiley

Contrary to your assumptions, I am flexible on these matters too.
I don't know, just surprised because of your recent post that made me think you would wait for years if necessary.

I applaud anyone who doesn't succumb to the highs from bitcrack.

By the way, Emptygox is now the world's third largest exchange if we exclude the fake/0% volume Huobi, and this is even including all their non-USD currencies http://bitcoinity.org/markets/list?currency=ALL&span=7d

Blitz, you're a smart guy, stop with the '0% fee exchange volume is fake volume' canard. Discount the volume by some, sure. But it's not as if 0% trading is without any risk, and therefore done at a whim. It's just, well, cheaper, so volume is relatively higher and needs to be normalized to be compared to non-0% fee exchanges.

The first time I looked at houbi , I saw they had only 400 BTC on the order book and they were doing more volume than gox , that's when I started to think that everything from China might be fake.
5199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 09, 2014, 06:52:19 PM

That almost makes me bullish.

That almost makes me nervous. Smiley

Wow , seems like I missed a lot of FUD , opened reddit , looked for a few seconds , decided to close it.
It's this the new bear ammo for today?
