Thanks for the photos. The interior doesn't exaxtly instill any confidence for me to put down anything in their company. I would expect some office people or something that resembled an office instead of a construction zone.

My friend took these pics an hour or so before i posted them here. I have nothing to do with alpha technology or scrypt asic, I dont even own a GPU mining rig. Just thought that since he was already passing by the place it would be nice to take some pics and let the community think of what they think.

People are so ready and willing to be cheated. Someone claiming to be from alpha makes a post on litecointalk and is immediately suckled up to by the idiots. Oh thank you sir for posting, that will shut up all the naysayers...


Their whole shipping and refund policy violates uk law. Anyone dumb enough to send them money deserves to lose it. They are running a multimillion dollar scam out of a cheap office, that's all. If they were real, they wouldn't have to steal from customers who want refunds if they don't ship in many months. If they were real, they would have developed a product without using customer funds, nobody wants to play kickstarter with something this big.

Where are the companies that launch a product by making it, then selling it!

If you're talking about the samsungs and dells and sonys of the world that have the r&d budgets...they don't care to enter this game because its too risky in their viewpoints.  Furthermore, the only way that independent vendors can get off the ground is through preorders, I've seen a few vendors who didnt do pre-orders but they end up selling small batches and cannot keep steady supply going.  Even these bigger preorder vendors still need to keep stuff in batches as the demand for hardware is getting out of control - If it was really a terrible stupid idea to buy bitcoin hardware, then why are the vast majority of folks who bought hardware, still continuing to do so?

Did someone already asked for a refund ?
I realize that even getting a refund is no indication that it is a scam or not.
Their FAQ is not clear whether or not refund is possible.
Since we expect to be the first to ship, we are only taking 30% deposit instead of the usual 100% other companies take and at the same time allowing the opportunity to get a refund in deposit. (this refund policy is fair as we are not taking 100% upfront and have certain costs to the manufacturing process to be made).

One could read that they allow a refund, but you could also read that only 100% deposit companies allow refunds in their answer.

They only took 30% downpayment, and I paid via paypal. Suffice to say, my risk at this point is 0.0% and my upside of having a first gen 25mh/s scrypt ASIC is quite high.

Overall, yes the pics of the office dont inspire confidence. However, remember that this is just a small design team. Everything is manufactured in India, and their partner there is quite a large engineering firm.  

Sure I understand why people would be skeptical, but lets be frank - scrypt ASICs are coming, period. Im onboard that crucial first boat, because I understand risk/reward quite well.

I'm not sure you do. Unlike the SHA ASICs, these things are not delivering a hugely exponential increase in hashing power per dollar.
In fact you can buy a bunch of GPUs right now that will hash that much for similar money. How much coins will they mine before this vaporware ever ships? Even if it does, your main advantage is electricity usage. For electricity to be the deciding factor profitability has to be quite low already.

If you would get 100 MH for the price of 10 GPUs, then the potential reward would indeed be great. Right now, it really isn't. Not to mention, if scrypt asics come to dominate the large scrypt coins, the difficulty will skyrocket while tons of coins with a slightly different algorhitm are released. No matter how I look at this, tying up money in a scrypt asic preorder simply does not look profitable.

You don't get increased performance for your money, you get decreased power consumption. In essence you are rewarded with less of a powerbill or the ability to add more devices to your household circuit.

One may argue that graphics cards will retain their value and be easier to resell as well...

Thats in no way a dig at AT, just a matter of fact statement w.r.t. scrypt mining ASICs. You're saving will likely be in power consumption
