521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why I Don't Do Bounty Campaigns & Why You Shouldn't Either on: February 22, 2019, 10:15:51 AM
So a few months ago I did some bounty work for a company called Swachhcoin. Like many of you, I spent countless hours developing and creating posts that highlighted key features of the platform. Fast forward several months...they tell all of us bounty campaign participants that we will have to pass KYC to receive the NEW swachhcoin tokens (SWACHH). My previous Swachhcoin tokens (SCX) are now worth $0 and I will have to do KYC to get my new usable tokens. Also, they set a monthly limit of how many tokens we can sell. We will receive 10% each month to prevent dumping. I like this idea, but NONE of this was presented during the bounty campaign period. I also bought 2 ETH worth of tokens and they've delayed the project at least 2 times! To me, this is unprofessional, ridiculous, and outlandish. Sorry for the rant, but this is the exact reason I've been slowly putting my money into projects that I think have a future. I'm trying to stay away from the bad apples and put some leftover money aside into Bitcoin, Nauticus, Ethereum, EOS, and even XRP.
You have a bad experience from one campaign and that is all? People here are doing 10 bounty campaigns at one time because they know that the succesful ratio is around 1:10. 1 bounty campaign worths and 10 are worthless.
522  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: “World’s first unhackable device” on: February 22, 2019, 10:06:53 AM
But isn't it was hacked already? Not once but twice already:

https://techcrunch.com/2018/08/30/john-mcafees-unhackable-bitfi-wallet-got-hacked-again/

Quote
Security researchers have now developed a second attack, which they say can obtain all the stored funds from an unmodified Bitfi wallet. The Android-powered $120 wallet relies on a user-generated secret phrase and a “salt” value — like a phone number — to cryptographically scramble the secret phrase. The idea is that the two unique values ensure that your funds remain secure.

But the researchers say that the secret phrase and salt can be extracted, allowing private keys to be generated and the funds stolen.

And I think this is a old news already. Nothing is unhackable in this crypto verse. Anyone will find a way to exploit systems, just saying, whether your hardware or software attacks.
He didn´t get private key from the device for now.. but he totally changes the software of the device and that is a big problem. Has he received the bug bounty money? Cheesy
523  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN 1 MILLION in the end 2020? on: February 22, 2019, 09:57:23 AM
McAfee looks awfully, too much cocaine I think.
1 million USD for 1 BTC in relatively short time period is impossible, the massive adoption needs atleast 10 another years.
524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google keyboard enables Bitcoin symbol on iOS on: February 21, 2019, 07:37:36 PM
I'm sure if will appear to Android as Samsung recently said that the S10 will have a crypto wallet.  Grin

I don't know, but it looks like Apple might be cooking something new to rival Samsung latest release, so it's going to be exciting to see this coming September (usually Apple release new product around this date). Maybe we can see them integrating crypto or wallet support.
When they added Bitcoin as a symbol, it means that many people requested that. It is a good sign that massive adoption is happening through mobile phones.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP really better than ETH??? on: February 21, 2019, 07:30:35 PM
It is hard to compare these 2 complete diffrent altcoins.
Ripple is a coin made for inter-bank payments.
Ethereum is a coin that power decentralized computer.
Which one will be more valuable will depend only on future success.
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good ICOs should be protected from dump on: February 21, 2019, 05:28:43 PM
After careful research, when you see a good ICO, you would know and there will be no doubt about it.
I have noticed that good ICOs also dump after listing, competing with crap ones that have no definite direction, but to cart away funds.
There are ways in which they can be protected and prevent unreasonable dump in price. Some of which are:

1. They should be managed by credible and trusted managers, managers that already have good reputation on the forum, else the trust might not be there.

2. KYC should be made mandatory for all bounty and airdrop participants in order to avoid multiple accounts. The kyc should be announced

3. Participants should be made to complete the remaining process of their registrations on the project's website, where IP can be detected. Multiple accounts can also be prevented this way.

4. Listing should be done on reliable and reputable exchange sites.

5. There should be regular and prompt communication with the community.

6. Projects should maintain and comply to their roadmaps and if there is amendment, the community should be made to know, with concrete reasons.

Additional suggestion:
7. An approach that will create the demand for tokens, which can as well prevent dump, is the lockup of certain percentage of the tokens.
Some percentage of the tokens belonging to; the team, advisors, investors, promoters and bounty participants.
The main tokens for the investors should be released, at least to compensate them for the money invested, but their bonuses should be locked for certain period of time. Which is followed by their gradual release.

These are just few among so many other solutions, but if this few are integrated into the system, i believe dump can be minimized if not totally eliminated.
It is interesting that you see that the main problem with dumps is caused by bounty hunters. It was said many times that the bounty pool is about 2% of all tokens in average and simply that can´t cause such big dump, like many people think.
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Price Prediction 2019 – ETH Price May Touch $1450 In 2019 on: February 21, 2019, 05:01:15 PM
Those predictions are funny. Anyone still cares about prediction? I thought that people learned that all predictions are just random numbers based on nothing. Noone from these experts explained why they believe in these numbers for 1 ETH  Shocked.

529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's plan to sideline bitcoin on: December 24, 2018, 09:52:11 AM
That would bring no difference to the present situation.Such a digital coin issued by the chinese government would be definitely decentralised and so no crypto investors would show interests in buying such coin.

Rather it could be used for inter banking transactions and it does not make any sense for china to issue such a digital coin.Instead it could regulate and allow the crypto environment to exist.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When people say Bitcoin is dead, make sure to show them this... on: December 24, 2018, 07:52:51 AM

That's true.Bitcoin is the only asset which has given such a high ROI within a short duration. But its the speculators who almost destroyed its reputation by buying, selling immediately, shorting, manipulating, inducing panic selling.Otherwise, bitcoin would had been a much better experience.

If we see the overall performance of bitcoin since 2011 just avoiding fluctuations due to speculators, bitcoin has outperformed any other assets.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does it mean to buy on the Dip? on: December 24, 2018, 07:44:38 AM
Buying a coin on the dip means to buy a well performing coin but now its price falling and which has the capacity to increase again in future. For example,Bitcoin price was high earlier and recently its price fell down below $4,000.But now again, its price has started to increase. So we could term buying bitcoin now also as buying in the dip.

More investors make huge money by buying coins in the dip.
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real "Miners" shutdown the Mine, Unless they can make a profit on: December 24, 2018, 07:40:30 AM
Bitcoin is such a great concept and it was totally damaged by the speculators as well as big mining pools.Mining algorithm should have been adjusted as electroneum so that mining bitcoins would have remained decentralised. But bitcoin mining got almost centralised thus making normal people totally out of the participating in the mining process.

Now its said that the cost of mining one bitcoin is almost near $4,000 in many countries and for that reason,ASIC miners are getting sold in pounds. But now again bitcoin price rising and we could hope bitcoin to come another round.

535  Economy / Speculation / Re: I never held this much bitcoins. on: September 29, 2018, 08:15:00 AM
It's true that bitcoin deserves much higher price than what it is today. But I think that huge manipulation is going on to control bitcoin's price. That's why,its price is still moving between the range of 6,000 dollars to nearly 8,000 dollars. But holding is not bad and it would definitely yield more profit in the future.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A big movement by a Big exchange in INDIA on: September 28, 2018, 11:44:00 PM
IMO, I think that zebpay has already decided to work from Hong Kong, outside India and continue its service to its customers.Indian government has not yet decided over ban on cryptos as its in its last days of rule as election is going to come there within eight months. So the government may have decided not to take important economic decisions.
537  Economy / Economics / Re: WORLD CRISIS IN 2018 on: September 28, 2018, 02:30:56 PM
By 2018 the world economy is falling, there is currently chaos in the economy around the world. there are even some countries declared bankrupt by the world this year. a country that is able to survive in conditions like now only countries that have a large gold stock. China and America are currently collecting gold from all over the world. the goal is to maintain their existence and also to survive the coming crisis. I want to know whether cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin, will be affected by the current crisis? I want to hear from the seniors here.
Turkey was first expected to collapse but it escaped due to the support of Qatar. Now Dubai is said to face a big crisis. From the day bitcoin was created, the world has not faced any crisis. So its difficult to predict about bitcoin's stage during such crisis. I think that most of people would prefer gold over bitcoin during such crisis because gold has proved to be worthful for centuries.
538  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Declining of Bitcoin Price has also a Decline in Consumers Interest? on: September 28, 2018, 02:26:59 PM
It is difficult to say rather the low value led to a loss of consumer interest or the other way around Millennial people still have an interest to bitcoin, they
still, embrace bitcoin. For Millennial's bitcoin and cryptocurrency could be the investment opportunity of a lifetime.
This slow price movement in bitcoin is actually good for bitcoin's progress as we could see more speculators and newbies who just saw bitcoin only to be a high ROI giving asset have almost let the bitcoin market. Remaining investors either have an idea of holding bitcoin on a long-term basis or they show interest in using it for payment options.A slow rise in price is much better than a quick rise and a sudden fall.
539  Economy / Speculation / Re: Save the date! May 2020 - Bitcoin price will explode ? on: September 28, 2018, 02:22:05 PM
Hello guys,

Looking for some "predictions" about bitcoin future i found/remember a good not so new information... and I'm writing this because maybe someone does not know about and have an interest in this information.

Today on a good number of blocks mined using bitcoin blockchain miners got a 12,5 coins, and aparently this will be reduced to 6.25 coins on May 2020, as you can see here https://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/ and if you want search code on git, you can found also

Im already moving a good part of my investments to bitcoin, first, because i believe on this technology and second, probably will be a very good investment looking long term ( ~2 years.. with this information)

We cannot confirm any value prediction $  .. but bitcoin will be more "rare" (its more hard to obtain one) , and with this "rare" effect the price maybe can be increased.

what do you think guys ?

Yes that's the day about bitcoin halving. Supply of new bitcoins would get automatically reduced to half the volume available now and definitely it would help bitcoin price to increase as bitcoin's price is decided mostly by the market's demand and supply. But we would have to wait for more than 500 days to witness such a high price.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mind uploading and/or chip implants in the body as alternative to wallets on: September 28, 2018, 02:18:27 PM
This is an old blog post I found this morning as I was reading up on cryptos but after reading it, I thought I would share it here in the bitcoin community to ask what is your opinion of implanting chips in your body and/or using your digitized brain as an alternative wallets. This idea came to my mind especially since a few months ago, I saw in the news that there are people who are getting chip implants on their hands and they can use those chips to pay for goods and services. If the chip implants can be used for fiat, do you think it can be used for crypto as well? Also, do you think that if it can be applicable to cryptocurrency, it will make our coins safer from hackers and scammers? And one last thing, will it even make a difference if we have a chip implanted on our body to store our coins?
No. Personally, I would not support such actions and I would even advice others too to not to do such things. Unfortunately, some people have kept chips embedded inside their bodies and hands. It would be better to use any hardware wallets instead if we care much about hacking. Using chips inside our body might turn harmul. As it is a new technology,no researches have been made so far over this subject.
