So today, I was browsing the comments of one of the writers in newsbtc, a crappy bitcoin "news" website. Here's what I found: https://disqus.com/home/discussion/newsbtc/bitcoin_price_heading_towards_340_eta_12_hours/#comment-2370080054ArciveFull page capture image <- big size His history with bitcoin (at least allegedly) seems to be dating back to 2010. There are allegations against this guy saying that he was a very early adopter, bitcoin manipulator and even some far fetched speculation that he was involved in the creation of the currency itself. Some digging could yield interesting results. The writer in question didn't deny allegations, instead he threatened with legal action. So, who's up for some digging? Questioning? Blockchain analysis or even trying to contact the guys from the Diqus to see what they know... Anything could be useful. All of this if you don't mind being sued of course. .

Meh, all I'm saying is that you could take advantage of the features this forum has if you want to keep your topics on topic and clean from trolling instead of expecting the mods to remove things you deem inappropriate while responding to someone else's topic. Complaining doesn't seem to be helping either.

OP there are some bots on hackforums that can scan if the username is not detected and grab it as soon as it isnt, check out the marketplace there
I wouldn't trust anything on hackforums.

Anything coming from " sharingservices@aol.com" is pure and utter bullshit, and should get sent directly to /dev/null by any and all mail servers and relays. Trust me, it's not true, they claim to have everything from data from Ashley Madison to whatever site gets hacked tomorrow. Seriously, send it back to aol_phish@abuse.aol.com and include the full headers - I can't believe they let this asshat continue this extortion scam, it's over a week old. Aol is the favorite email service of extorters. Its security parameters stay the same for over a decade.

TCM tries to normalize stalking behavior(outrage culture, being angry about nothing). Jimbobway, please remove your spam or I'll probably give the report button a try. Normalizing harassment against women in Bitcoin communities is never a good start. I didn't know Brianna Wu was a mod over at GamerGhazi. https://twitter.com/spacekatgal/status/564204048216502272She is one of those who received an extreme amount of threats similar to what Anita Sarkeesian has received. https://reddit.com/r/GamerGhazi/Hey, this forum has self moderated topics. Try starting one, it will allow you to keep it harassment free and on topic.

Uhm... the OP as been permabanned due to excessive toxic trolling. Maybe we can stop bumping her threads.

Ah well , thanks for the warning but I don't see any relation to bitcoin on the site. Would be better if you move this thread to off-topic. Never heard of the site though.
They're in fact asking for a bitcoin ransom. See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1258055.msg13034177#msg13034177Sure patreon doesn't accept bitcoin but it's still talk about it as a service, and bitcoin is related to this incident in specific.

|
|
Someone is trying to extort patreon users after a data leak took place and he got held of their emails. Please be aware that he doesn't have the information claiming to, you shouldn't pay the demanded ransom. More on here https://www.patreon.com/posts/3773534

lol i guess it would sound a bit weird if someone just randomly started showing your kid this new thing on their phone.
That'd depend on the reputation of that someone. hehe Personally I'm good at making things sound harmless, plus most old people in my family just ignore all sorts of technobabble they hear.

I've had some success trying to get the younger ones to learn bitcoin. I'm somewhat young myself so it doesn't look creepy when I explain tech related stuff to my younger relatives. For some reason though, I don't really want my family members getting to know bitcoin very well. If someone has an addictive personality bitcoin could be the gateway to worse things. Some people are better of sticking with Actual Money™. I wouldn't want their mothers blaming me for stuff they might do after being introduced to BTC .

I looked into bitcoin accepting seedboxes a while ago and most seemed to favor large scale purchases. yourseedbox.com has a 2 euro/month shared plan which is the smallest & cheapest I could find. There are limits for active torrents in their shared plans though. you can take a look for yourself here https://yourseedbox.com/page/shared_seedbox

If I was you, I'd simply ignore them. It'd be tough for you, or any authority to track someone based on just a BTC address, so if you're not related to what they're messaging you about and have nothing to fear then simply blacklist their email addresses and move on. If you'd like to warn the community you could also post in this forum including information about the extortion attempt such as the email you received and email address it came from; you could do so in the scam accusation board. Bitcoin addresses aren't tied to real names and transactions are irreversible, you'd probably have more luck trying to track that person down through the email you received but if he's taking some basic precautions that would still be hard even for authorities. Sorry if you were introduced to bitcoin this way!

We'll probably see some selling pressure but this year's bitcoin black Friday will probably be the smallest of the tradition whilst trading is still seeing stable volumes. It's likely that that this year's impact on the price will be less significant that 2013/14

And what exactly is the guarantee that you are not a troll? Have you escrowed the funds? Or even have proof of funds?
well, i can proof funds, anyway. It's free, play if you want, if you don't want, case you think i'll not pay the winner or something like that, just don't play it's 100% free i'm just giving this giveaway because i'm happy and have nothing to do i don't want headache for something that should be light and funny My sugestion, just play if you want good luck! Please provide proof, if you're in possession of the coins you claim to be willing to give away it'd likely make people take you more seriously. Living up to the promise is another thing though, escrowed funds would be the best IMO, don't know if that's something you'd be willing to do though.

So, mangocoinz all over again? :p

ive noticed alot of dodgy overseas contracts emerging with links to the Chinese communist party, is it possible that bribes are being made in Crypto which is
enabling the scrutiny of the deals to be overlooked, where bribes made in cash or via bank transfer would otherwise blow the deal wide open!
Why is there never a link to where you get those stories from?

Do you hold anything of value that can be transfered digitally for collateral? Altcoins, steam items bitcointalk accounts etc?
