Okay thanks, I figured it was but I was thrown off by the whole See the P2Pool thread for more information on how to set up a miner. thing. Thanks! Your welcome. Glad I could help.

It's an xorg issue, have you tried: $ sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --initial -f If you haven't run the above 'aticonfig' command yet it's required to populate xorg.conf file before running miners and GPU. If using a USB flash drive, then: (not required if installed to a hard drive.) Reboot the system: or Did you follow an install guide? Which one? Could you run: $ apt-cache showpkg fglrx It should return information about which version of fglrx is installed, example: Package: fglrx Versions: 2:8.*-0ubuntu4 ( The * would be the version of fglrx installed.

Video cards like to move air for cooling, you could add a fan or 2 to create positive pressure inside the case, this way there is plenty of incoming air. Make sure internal wiring doesn't impede air movement. PSU's can add heat to the inside of the case. Have you thought of going naked, run it without a case?

This is extremely n00bish.. but I'm confused. Do I just point my miner like the website says.. It is very easy to start mining at P2Pmining. Just point your miner at: http://p2pmining.com:9332 and use your Bitcoin address as your username. Use anything for your password. Or do I need to download the p2p stuff and go through that stuff? Yes, just like the website says and NO you don't need to download p2p stuff to use JayCoins p2pool. To use p2pmining.com, follow your miners instructions for connecting to a pool. For example, to connect using CGMiner: cgminer -o http://p2pmining.com:9332 -u username -p password Replace 'username' with your BTC address where the payments are to be sent.

What OS and version are you running? What version fglrx do you have? Which mining software are you running?

sha256sum provides different results. $ echo "emailaddress@domain.com" | sha256sum 9d886f71d7ee1dc93e058fafd21f25715eff3b779b68070053c728551621d37b - www.online-convert.com sha256 hash of emailaddress@domain.com returns c78f0c7d38ff568dce69dd355e7759a1e962b5c83ff85884ce02f650c2d0d646 Why the discrepancy.

If you running windows no reason you can't be running a rollback software like RollbackRX or some such similar. SandboxIE for your browser. WinMHR to scan for non rootkit files, kicks any individual AV's arse. Delete/Remove Java, Flash, anything Adobe. Create a new profile in Firefox.

For a battery for your application you can't beat: http://www.a123systems.com/products-cells-26650-cylindrical-cell.htmTalk to Bill about A123 packs and a charge controller: http://www.killacycle.com/He produces, or did produce, 12v car starter packs, he has access to A123 products even if most can't get them. He's a geek and if your project intrigues him he might manufacture something specifically for you. I don't think he takes bitcoins though. Another possible source for batteries and charge controllers: http://www.batteriesplus.com/Don't knock lead, you'd be suprised how small a 120AH 12v AGM battery is, maybe 6"x3"x8", probably in the 10 lb. range.

From http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2012/04/26/3489504.htmExperts believe quantum computing is moving to a stage where it is so far out in front and performing such complex tasks it will be difficult to check if it is working accurately.
"They're not easily checked by a classical computer which opens a whole variety of problems," says Biercuk. This might be a problem for things like "Quantum Computing Interstellar Navigation Systems." "Missed it by that much." "The central element is something like a millimetre in diameter, 300 atoms that are suspended in space," says Biercuk.
"But of course everything depends on a huge amount of technical infrastructure around it. There are vacuum chambers and pumps and lasers, and all of that takes up something like a room." Hmmm...1mm quantum computer requires 1000 square feet of space. I guess the speed benefeits outway the space requirements.

@Red Emerald - I was wondering if that were possible to run both and switch off to the newer one, now I know it is. It's good to see people performing a public service.

I'd like to see rjk win so he can complete his signature project, Terahashasaurus. If someone bought 230BTC of tickets and didn't win then they would be like . Let me know what time you will be submitting to the rng so I can influence it, mehmehmehmehmeh. (Think Aqua Man.)

So, how are the public pools doing? Are miners taking advantage of these public pools?
|
|

I think JayCoin instituted PPLNS instead of proportional so payouts may accrue differently but payouts should be identical. Also, with p2pool, I think you have to mine for at least 24 hours to get close to your expected share %. Someone with p2pool knowledge could explain better.

If you have 2 rigs, 1 hashing 1500 MH/s and the other hashing at 2400 MH/s, you could point the 1 1500 rig at p2pool and the 2nd 2400 rig at EMC. Each rig has it's own instance of a miner, so just point each at a different pool. This is what I get out of the OP.
Is the proxy method being suggested for single rig miners? What would be the minimum hashing ability that would benefit from splitting between 2 pools? Like those with one 6850/5830/5850?

If this is Obama's real birth certificate then Obama should have no difficulty stating when his birthday is. Unfortunately, Obama doesn't seem to know himself when his birthday is. Is Obama 48, 50, or 52 years old? Don't ask Obama because he already publicly gave three different ages. The truth is easy to remember, lies are not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wF_n-gn-YoIf Obama is removed for ineligibility, any laws he signed are null and void. If he is impeached for illegal actions, like declaring war without asking congress for permission, then the laws he signed remain. Of the two methods of getting rid of Obama, I prefer the former, giving us an opportunity to undo any damage created by laws he signed.

What if an attacker rewrote the recorded bitcoins addresses(SQLi) to have sent money routed to their BTC address instead? unless everything was strictly email then that might be different.
They aren't using the website to send anything but alert the store which address payment was made from so no diversion is possible, no BTC passes through the site. For an attacker to divert funds they would need to modify the stores listed address. Payment address can be firstbits vanity address as domain name for the store.
