522  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mining by using website visiters on: October 13, 2017, 03:26:42 PM
Sometimes you get a warning by your virus scanner, when you are mining with your hardware and you needn't care about.
But in your case, as I read it, they want to harm your PC or cheat you in another way. F.e. they say, you get 1 BTC but must first pay the transactions fee. Be careful. Look at contacts, FAQ and ask here with the name of the service, so that we can give you more detailed advices.
523  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Helping a friend recover funds on: October 12, 2017, 08:52:25 PM
Hi,

I am helping a friend recover funds from various wallets he hasn't logged into for years. He basically did the right thing and hodled. However, he hand wrote, on paper, various mnemonic passphrases and passwords as one should but over time the paper has go damp and has badly deteriorated, the pen used was some sort of felt tipped and the ink has run making most of it unreadable. We have recovered Ripple and are working on the bitcoin passphrase.

I have a quick question about word lists. I have a 12 word passphrase that can be made out with the words murder and suicide in it. It's obviously not part of the bip 39 word list. I can't work out what this passphrase is for, it was obviously something important at the time to be written down.

Anybody have any ideas what word list these are from and what wallet uses them? Strange words that gave me the creeps but are defeinately from some wallet or maybe an exchange account?

Thanks guys
Found a memorizing script for seeds with your words from 2015 here on github, that was used for electrum.

524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs is flirting with bitcoin trading on: October 12, 2017, 08:28:00 PM
Or they try to influence governments to "ban" Bitcoin and place their own cryptocurreny. Several financial institutes and governments are already working on their digital currencies.
525  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the best bitcoin mining site? on: October 12, 2017, 08:23:13 PM
Do you want to mine with your hardware or use cloudmining?
For me, the best cloudminer is still eobot, but they announced, that they maybe will not offer anymore the mining because of ICO/Exchanger ban (Huh) in China. So probably soon will the last good cloudminer give up.
526  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Livecoin.net reviews on: October 12, 2017, 02:18:37 PM
I also have good experiences with livecoin. But there is a problem like also on cryptopia, yobit and novaecxhange: The low trade volumina. When one buys a new coin for price x, then this price is already listed. So when I buy the coin for this price x, I wont get it back, because offers and bids have big differences.
527  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Advcash is gone too. Important Advanced Cash Card Program Update on: October 12, 2017, 02:13:18 PM
Xapo accepts non-European customers. It is based in Hong-Kong and was founded by an Argentinian man

My Xapo card also is gone because visa new rules.

Can you explain? What visa rules are they?

same rules as mastercard only eu country
and this is not because of visa or mastercard
the law makes them do it, anti money laundering and what not..

they try everything to stop the real meaning of cryptocurrency

Here is a huge list of bitcoin cards:

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@bitcoinshirtz/a-full-list-of-bitcoin-debit-cards-for-2017

Go through it and see if there is some that suit you - there are some that srn't visa or mastercard (like capitalist.net which uses wavecrest)
Thaught, that wavecrest was the problem, that wouldn't issue worldwide. But many thanks for sharing the list.
528  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: has anyone tried freebitco.in investment? on: October 11, 2017, 05:17:14 PM
They're holding that freedogeco.in aswell, right? can that be more profitable? I mean if they're the owners and have that option as they do on bitcoin version.

I've stopped using their service a long time ago, but with the experience I've had with them, It's unlikely or not at all likely, that they'll scam you. Also, if that 4,08% fixed or does it depend on contract or the sum invested?
No, it is fixed but they calculate daily down. On doge, I had great experiences on poloniex. But now not trustable anymore.

Junior member signatures look different.
530  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: has anyone tried freebitco.in investment? on: October 11, 2017, 04:03:12 PM
I think they give out way too little for investors, given that you'd have to invest a significant amount to even think of making a profit.
4.08% per year is just not enough if you consider the risk of leaving your coins with them for over a year.

I prefer investing in websites that share profit based on an actual profit or loss percentage, preferably for less than 1 year.

On CryptoGames for example, you'd make way more profit in less than a year.

Take a look at this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1796062.0 ([Crypto-Games.net] Investment Returns, Updated weekly, Week 35, +27.96% in BTC)

Yes, that is right, that the interests are low.
But the risk seems not to be high. They pay the interests daily, as I read, or did they change that? Anyway, the benefits are too low.
531  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Bitcoin-Split am 25.10. - wie vorgehen? on: October 11, 2017, 01:53:35 PM
Außer Bitcoin Gold soll ab Mitte November noch ein Coin hervorgehen. Weiß jemand, was das sein soll? Bitcoin Unlimited oder Dark oder was?
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coins will rise before the hardfork? on: October 11, 2017, 11:53:02 AM
First, I think, only Bitcoin will rise. I also sold some altcoins to get free "new Bitcoins" (Bitcoin Gold and similar). After that, I will biy them back and with me probably lots of people, so alts will first dump, then pump.
533  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Everything went back to december 2016 on: October 11, 2017, 11:33:07 AM
Can't see a pull back of all altcoins to december 2016. Examples: ETH was under 50$, Litcoin was at 4$, Doges where on 0.00017 $, BCN where on 0.00005 and so on. Hold them on longterm and you will see, that they will be still on uoturn.
534  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have you tried Poker-mining.com? on: October 11, 2017, 11:04:34 AM
...
This sounds likes a scam, why use the word "Poker" when it is cloud mining, and totally not related to poker.

Yea, I think it's result of maket research. Like: What are the most searched words related to bitcoin? Poker and Mining. So they just combined those two to raise the chance to lure sbd.
Thanks for your research, so I needn't do. Sounded really interesting. Thaught its a betting site with kind of new feature like on freebitcoin.
But we know now better.
535  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Do Bitcoin Generator Sites really work? on: October 11, 2017, 10:48:01 AM
I want know if these BTC generators websites are really working? I have tried using one and made few BTCs, and when I was about to receive them, I was told that I should pay a certain amount of BTCs before the BTCs I generated can be sent in my account. So I don't want to send and never receive, and I want to be sure if they are working or not. Has anyone used that?
Then you where lucky, that you only lost a few bucks. Some of these cheaters offer software with virus/trojans as gifts.
All so called "Bitcoin generators" are scam and have nothing to do with real mining.
536  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Where can I find private keys from new blockchain.info wallet? on: October 11, 2017, 10:42:21 AM
You should be able to list all your past, current and future private keys since the new wallet is a deterministic wallet.

You should be able to export your seed words at SETTINGS -> Security -> Backup Phrase

Then, using the wallet recovery phrase (12 words) you get go to bip32.org or some other deterministic wallet, I have used Wallet32 in the past, and generate your xpriv key

Then, from your xpriv key you can generate your entire private key sequence, transaction history, etc.

Note, I have not tried this but it should be possible.
That is interesting. Maybe I can get out my bitcoin via seed through mycellium wallet. Will try that out.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Right time to buy altcoin on: October 11, 2017, 10:34:06 AM
I wouldn't buy altcoins right now, because I want to gain the new "Bitcoins" on hardfork in October and November. But if you don't care, it would be the right time to buy alts. They will for sure go up, after the Bitcoin "show".
538  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit INVESTBOX on: October 11, 2017, 10:29:52 AM
I trapped into new coin investment. Baught new coins to get interest of them and then they nearly where worthless. But was my own fault, not yobit's. Did not research, only saw high interests. Lol.
539  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: has anyone tried freebitco.in investment? on: October 11, 2017, 10:16:17 AM
I was always skeptical about freebitco.in investment and all the changes they have made, but it seems like they are doing fine after all this time. the site is turned into a proper gambling site instead of just being a faucet.

I tried their investment (4.08% annual profit) by making a small deposit and by following the funds I see their main wallet currently contains 508BTC that is $2.4 million!
https://blockchain.info/address/1CE5T4P6WmFUQvQFwvedgTEc5Z7BSVJLVN

does anyone have any feedback on their services?

for example I didn't find any Contacts/support/ticket section on the site. what do you do if you have an issue?
I searched and found contact formular at FAQ. First log in, then go to FAQ and scroll down to "How can I contact you?". There you see the contact form. Didn't find any other contact infos. That's wired.
I didn't invest, because the interests would be to low for little amounts, so I prefer Bitfinex for lending. At earlier times I used poloniex, as I still trusted them.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold to be created Oct 25 hardfork? on: October 11, 2017, 08:29:01 AM
According to this article another altcoin 'bitcoin gold'  will be created from bitcoin like BCC during the upcoming hard fork in October 25th which means every owner of a bitcoin will technically own a bitcoin gold, I hope my wallet will support this new chain.
https://www.quora.com/Can-you-elaborate-on-how-bitcoin-holders-will-receive-bitcoin-gold-after-the-October-25th-hard-fork
I heard this from a article saying that there are going to be multiple forks, one is on October 25 and another one will be during November ,which they call it as Segwit2X. I didn't quite understand what exactly they were trying to tell but to reduce the block size and to reduce the transaction fee is one of the reasons why the hardfork is taking place now.
Yes it is
There are two upcoming BTC forks, one is on October 25th Bitcoin gold fork. I've read something about this fork in reddit that it is already pre mined. I'm not sure how will that affect on fork. Second one probably takes place around middle of November. Bitfinix already listed two chains separately as BT-1 and BT-2.
So we will have three or for new Bitcoins. We have BitCash and will have Bitcoin Gold. What are the other one or two coins?
