822  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: COINBASE SCAM ALERT!!!!............ on: September 07, 2017, 09:59:38 AM
This is the scariest thread I've read in a while! Good luck to you legendofcoin.

kinda amusing actually ;p

the OP can still SIGN messages from coinbase addresses lol, he just cant use the wallet.
i personally call BS in crypto about amount of funds unless theres a signed message, funny noone else did ;p
Also, if there were atleast some addresses posted we could atleast SEE the coins/where they are/went/are going/MAYBE came from.

question is: why?  why bs OR why is coinbase holding his coins? :/

Im also thinking why they hold his account. Is having the bitcoins earned from scam be a ground for freezing an account? If yes how can they determine if one transaction is likely scam?'That is possible one of the reason but who knows or just coinbase is not that credible.

you may be opinions as to say it was the result of fraud, because you do not know the truth of where the funds came from, the account is held for more than five people for short-term investments, we bought the coin from the price of $ 760, the current coin rose at a very good price we intend to sell, but we were restricted to a transaction account.

verification of all we had to do because we know their rules, you should check this incident is not only me who have this problem.
Could you solve your problem with coinbase already?
823  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to start trading with a very small amount on: September 07, 2017, 09:38:15 AM
sir if i start to trade in yobit. what the minimum amount of btc to start for trading? or else the smallest amount in yobit to start to trade?
For my experience it is on 0.0001 BTC. These days it is difficult to trade with the minimum of btc because od high transfer fees. You could maybe change into doge when you want to transfer your funds somewhere.

825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptopia hacked on: September 07, 2017, 06:04:37 AM
If someon tries to hack an account with different IP then cryptopia sends an email notification with a link where account can be blocked. I got that and blocked my account immidiately. But now don't know the next step. Asked supporr but only got the answer I could reset my password. But how, when account is blocked?
826  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Turn 0.002 BTC into 1.133 BTC on: September 07, 2017, 05:44:32 AM

827  Economy / Speculation / Re: personal prediction for next days based on logic on: September 07, 2017, 05:38:36 AM
It is difficult just to predict the price of bitcoin from logic for the next to days. News or even fake news could through logic over board as you saw the last days after the news about china. But there is a big chance that btc will follow its direction from the last years. It will touch the 5000$, I think.
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Seeds deeply unsecure? on: September 06, 2017, 10:32:52 PM
So brain wallet would be the safest to get not hacked?
No. The human brain naturally loves to have short cuts in remembering stuff. If you generate a brainwallet using a passphrase, it is very possible that the passphrase is weak and it can easily be cracked. This is true even if the brainwallet you generate uses an algorithm that takes more time to derive.

The safest way to not get hacked is just to create a wallet like everyone else.

What you said is true that brain wallet is not the safest but the seed key generated through software is the best option and what OP wanted to is not possible only 1 % chance in 100 and i think OP is lucky Smiley
But if I would remember the seed, then it would be the safest way to store the key, right?
What do you mean with 1% in 100?
829  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why do they keep saying bitcoin is illegal? on: September 06, 2017, 10:11:55 PM
Wondering, how would ban work in practise and what would be the consequences if bitcoin holders would be caught.

To wait for upgrade to junior member isn't that long. Meanwhile you can study this forum and learn about bitcoin world.
831  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase is warning: s.o tried to access coinbase via iOS on: September 06, 2017, 09:10:28 PM
I wanted to report them that, but they shut down the support on their email, they provided me at their notification mail. So I followed their link to new support system with many faq, but couldn't open a ticket. So I closed my account.
832  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining on: September 06, 2017, 08:40:27 PM
There are lot of cloud mining websites which are scam. And there are some like genesis and minergate which are not profitable at all. I have found another one eobot.com which seems to be a bit different. Is it profitable to invest there? Is it legit ?
.
I tried it out these days. The interesting is not the ROI on mining that is aleays at 17 month at the moment you buy (ghs price is based to btc price), but you can click on different coins, you want to get during mining. So its a kind of exchanging during mining. The other thing as I read here somewhere on bitcointalk, that mining contract, that is at 5 years can be exchanged to 24 hours contract. So you indirectly get back your invest but with loosing 20-30 percent. Seems to make sense when coins are hyping or you don't trust eobot anymore and get a quick pay out. Didn't try that yet to exchange back.

834  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase sees complaints grow on: September 06, 2017, 01:18:46 PM
Maybe it is more save to use a multicoin wallet with cold storage with integrated exchange and only exchange little amounts. There are many reported issues on well known exchangers.
Do you know one mobile friendly that is better than coinbase?
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Seeds deeply unsecure? on: September 06, 2017, 01:02:54 PM
There are 2048 words in the English BIP39 wordlist... most wallets generate at least a 12 word seed... some use as many as 24 words...

this means that there are effectively 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 * 2048 combinations... That is 204812... which is 5,444,517,870,735,015,415,413,993,718,908,291,383,296 seed combinations... as a MINIMUM. Also, not all combinations generate valid seeds.

So, the real question is...

Thank you very much. That number clarifies the luck to get hack on own seed Smiley
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Seeds deeply unsecure? on: September 06, 2017, 12:43:17 PM
The last word in a BIP39 seed mnemonic is a "checksum"... basically, it is checking to make sure that you haven't made any mistakes in the word order, or used a different word by mistake. Most wallets will detect if the checksum doesn't add up and tell you that the seed is invalid.

Go here: https://iancoleman.github.io/bip39/

Valid seed: lava tunnel trade release accuse orient swallow make flat cat crime timber
Invalid seed (words swapped): lava tunnel trade accuse release orient swallow make flat cat crime timber
Invalid seed (wrong word): lava tunnel trade release accuse orient swallow lake flat cat crime timber

Try and put in the valid seed, then try and put in the invalid seeds... it detects there is an error.

NOTE: DO NOT put your actual seed into that website unless you download a copy and run it offline (read "Offline Usage" instructions at the bottom of that website)
Yes, but what if someone accidentally meets the right terms with right order to a vaild adress or hackers run a software that automates searching for valid seeds? To hack a known adress would take years with wallets but to target any valid seed, wouldn't that be the high risk for seed owners? Or tomeet accidentally any valid seed...
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Seeds deeply unsecure? on: September 06, 2017, 11:54:40 AM
Many wallets support seeds for Bitcoin adresses with private keys. Good thing for smart backups and brainwallets.
But: As I made a backup and restored my wallet and gave in my seed, doubts came over me. Hopefully my thought is wrong. Would I have given the seed words in wrong order, I would have opened a wrong adress, if it would exist, because there is no additional security like to be asked for bitcoin adress or similar. So even people who dont want to steal/hack bitcoin wallets they could accidentally open other people's wallets. Is that right?
838  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase is warning: s.o tried to access coinbase via iOS on: September 06, 2017, 05:23:02 AM
In situations like this, the problem comes from people registering their email at whatever site/faucet/service that got its database compromised ~ result is that they will attempt to log in with your email address being known now.

Best thing to do is to use a clean email address for something so important as a wallet/exchange service. On top of that you should have 2FA at all times enabled ~ this will ensure your account is as safe as possible.
Ah that could be. You are right. Didn't think about the faucets because I am long away from that.
839  Economy / Web Wallets / Coinbase is warning: s.o tried to access coinbase via iOS on: September 05, 2017, 07:50:49 PM
I recieved warnings that someone wanted to access my coinbase account via iOS. I looked at my account and saw that tries of api access from several countries were reported. Did someone have the same issues?

standard finance warning about running a Fiat using money service business without a licence
and the risks of investors putting money into such things
You pointed that out in one sentence. There is nothing to worry about. It doesn't remain to bitcoin or well known cryptocurrencies.
It is like the thing with the oil pricrs or shares. There is sone "news" and all panic, price is falling until shareholders are aware how the real facts are.
