521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think Picoin? on: March 29, 2017, 11:22:04 AM
so its not this one released back in 2014?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=502448.0

Either way that one died, so if its the same dev doing a relaunch then I assume it will die again.

If its a new coin with a new dev I have no opinion on it because I have never heard of it.

The dev of the new Picoin appears to be did not make a research first, before naming his coin with the same name of a dead coin.

Similar logo as well... Joined the sig camp for the airdrop and to find out what'll happen once this reaches an exchange - anticipating a dump but still waiting and watching if dev is serious about making this either a serious coin or just a scam coin

So, yobit ang may issue? naguguluhan ako.

523  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: March 29, 2017, 09:39:01 AM

Never encountered in my part yang fee na sinasibi niya ma browser or app man.

I too agree with the rest of those who dislike yobit. Hope this gets into cryptopia or nova exchange so it can be paired with other alts.

528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need to STOP The Billion coin! on: March 26, 2017, 02:28:41 AM
I have many friends on facebook who is selling TBC or The Billion Coin around 200 to 400 usd at first i think this is not scam but i do some research here in bitcointalk forum and other bitcoin blogs that tbc is a scam, From now the sellers of tbc or the scammer saying that the buyers will get a huge amount of profit they just waiting for the exchanger of tbc  Undecided
They are just attracting the people to buy that shitcoin they keep saying that the exchanger will release soon and all of the tbc owners will become millionaire because of it's price lol.

Some TBC members tried to get it listed on CCEX. Unfortunately, it didn't get enough votes to make the cut. Some members wish it to get on any regular exchange but it's odd that there's a large number of them though who're against it. I just pity those who bought it at such an astonishing price! They will just marinate in unending frustration for it to be converted to fiat. It's depressing.
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Copy-Paste Virus For Bitcoin Users -- Beware!!! on: March 26, 2017, 02:05:24 AM
This bug/virus has been around for a long time in the bitcoin space and i am surprised to still see so many users post that this is the first time they are hearing about this.
Maybe the forum should have a board for people to post information on know bitcoin viruses, other users could check it daily/weekly to get the latest updates of what to watch out for.

It's my first time to learn about this too. Thanks for the info. What about if the QR code was scanned, I suppose the address can't be changed, so the virus won't work right?

It's good practice to check and compare if the pasted address is the same as the one being copied.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: March 26, 2017, 01:52:23 AM
As a teenager or a millenial we grew up with the new technology. And explaining to teenagers, what is bitcoin? Is not very hard to understand because some teenagers wants to earn money already. But maybe explaining to a child is hard because every child wants to play, not earning money.

Yes, to millenial it is not hard to tell them on how bitcoin works, just introduce them the bitcoin and for sure they will do the moves and explore more on how bitcoin work and be earned.

I agree. My kids just watched me the first time I got involved with bitcoin and other digital assets. The next thing I knew, they too were buying cryptos of their choice in exchanges with their allowance. The kids of this generation are adaptable and they learn technology faster
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Launched: PiCoin [POS+POW] [SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN=AIRDROP] on: March 24, 2017, 09:23:12 AM
If you're on windows, will that happen on any qt wallet you'd try to run the first time?

You will get that strange error message the first time you start the wallet on both, windows and linux. Just ignore the message and restart the wallet, then it should be fine.
If I am not wrong, the wallet looks for some files which are created the first time the wallet is launched but obviously, it can't find them yet. After a wallet restrt, the message is gone and the wallet work like expected.

So that happens for the Pi coin qt only? Just asked because when I ran two other qt wallets prior to PiCoin, I didn't get any such notification but did only for the PiCoin qt... Although it's running now, the memory of that error message still lingers. Anyway, after running it the first time, someone tried to hack one of my google accounts. It could just be a coincidence though. Hope that event had nothing to do with running the PiCoin qt.

What's going on with this coin? The Windows wallet doesn't work??

Mine does. Download the qt wallet at the repository https://github.com/pesobitph/pesobit-source

Pesobit Update
The system is already complete with all the features working as well, just a few more things that needs to get sorted but here are a few of the final details we agreed upon.
1) There will be a referral system.
2) Outside Philippine IDs won't work for now except Canada.
3) There will be limits as well on how much you can withdraw but it can be increased by submitting a form that will be provided to you.
4) Could be released by the end of this month as I'm also dealing with some investors.
5) Canadian users will have the same features, can upload their ID for verification, can cash-in and cash-outs thru Interac.
More details will be released soon as we iron them out.

As for the exchange, DON'T trade in Yobit yet until further notice. Only NovaExchange and C-Cex coordinated with me regarding upgrade on the blockchain used. Although several support tickets have been sent to Yobit's way, I haven't received any update yet.

This is really good news!!! Noticed so many buyers at ccex this morning.

I suppose the e-wallet will require similar kyc requirements as coinsph like mobile, identity, and address verifications? Larger cash ins and cash outs will probably go though business verification so AMLC won't be alerted.

Fatal Error PiCoin can't continue safely

Very useful message... thank you for clearly identifying the problem and the circumstances under which it occurred.

If you're running Linux, I have no clue what your problem is, but I bet that if you muster the energy to be a bit more descriptive than "Fatal Error PiCoin can't continue safely", somebody might be able to help you.

If you're running Windows, it's normal to get an error the first time you run the wallet. Just run it again.

If you're on windows, will that happen on any qt wallet you'd try to run the first time?
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XDRAC] - Drac, a safe coin for a daily use on: March 22, 2017, 03:26:04 PM
We are proud to announce a new partnership between the Renos and Drac development teams.

Renos will be offering 1,000,000 DRAC via thier telegram crowdfunding tool with the following agreed terms:

- For every 4 RNS sent, 1 DRAC will be given.

- Any RNS raised by the crowdfund will enter escrow in which the DRAC team can request withdrawals for development. Withdrawal requests have to be publically announced 24 hours prior to the withdrawal either by DRAC team or Escrow.  This is to inform the community of development actions and prevent potential misuse as the escrow reserves the right to  postphone the withdrawal if there is a strong community backlash against it.

- Renos team will receive 250,000 DRAC to enter the same escrow rules as above. In return they will provide support setting up an ICO for the remaining supply at a later date, Promotion, Announcement page & website.

- If the ICO for the remaining supply occurs in the month (30 days) after the starting date of the Renos crowdfunding campaign, the price must be above the 1:4 swap ratio to ensure that the renos coins sell out first.

- Both teams are encouraged to arrange development expenses in either the Renos or Drac recieved rather than liquidating for bitcoin or other currencies on the market although it is ackonowledged that sometimes this wont be possible. It will be specified in the withdrawal request wether the expense will remain in Renos or Drac or be sold on the market.

Official launch date and instructions on how to take part will follow shortly.

DRAC Bitcointalk page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1806593.0
Renos Bitcointalk page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809933.0

I think this is bad news
why do Swap with Renoscoin ? The first time you promise coin prices have more than 10k
and is now selling the count like that  Shocked Shocked Shocked
example

4RNS = 1XDRAC ===> 4RNS x 50satoshi = 200satoshi so price 1XDRAC= 200satoshi lol  Cheesy Cheesy

RNS has been fluctuating between 50 and 250 Satoshi so 1XDRAC would be between 200 and 1000 Satoshi at the current market prices. This is a long term thing, don't think about value as of now. For example if RNS would go up to 1000 Satoshi, the Drac team could get a lot of funding this way overtime.

perfect explanation Smiley

can't say a value yet, but at least there is a base to start

Perhaps value will increase when more uses for the token are introduced. Break a leg XDRAC Team!

Rough times ahead for BTC, what are your thoughts?
Sa akin these would make confusion in the crytocommunity ang daming hindi nakakaalam ang basics ng pagamit ng BTC, ito pa kaya!

What is Bitcoin Unlimited?

The Bitcoin Unlimited (BU) project seeks to provide a voice to all stakeholders in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Every node operator or miner can currently choose their own blocksize limit by modifying their client. Bitcoin Unlimited makes the process easier by providing a configurable option for the accepted and generated blocksize via a GUI menu. Bitcoin Unlimited further provides a user-configurable failsafe setting allowing you to accept a block larger than your maximum accepted blocksize if it reaches a certain number of blocks deep in the chain.

By moving the blocksize limit from the protocol layer to the transport layer, Bitcoin Unlimited removes the only point of central control in the Bitcoin economy - the blocksize limit - and returns it to the nodes and the miners. An emergent consensus will thus arise based on free-market economics as the nodes/miners converge on consensus focal points, creating in the process a living, breathing entity that responds to changing real-world conditions in a free and decentralised manner.

This approach is supported by the evidence accumulated over the past six years. The miners and node operators have until now been free to choose a soft limit which, as demand grew, has always been increased in a responsive and organic manner to meet the needs of the market. We expect miners to continue in this tested and proven free-market way by, for instance, coordinating to set a new generated blocksize limit of 2MB and reject any blocks larger than 2MB unless they reach 4 blocks deep in the longest chain. As demand increases, the limit can easily be increased to 3MB, 4MB, and so on, thus removing central control over the process of finding the equilibrium blocksize by allowing the free market to arrive at the correct choice in a decentralised fashion.

As a foundational principle, we assert that Bitcoin is and should be whatever its users define by the code they run, and the rules they vote for with their hash power.

Bitcoin Unlimited seeks to remove existing practical barriers to stakeholders expressing their views in these ways.

For more details, read our Articles of Federation.

The Bitcoin Unlimited client is not a competitive block scaling proposal like BIP-101, BIP-102, etc. Instead it tracks consensus. This means that it tracks the blockchain that the hash power majority follows, irrespective of blocksize, and signals its ability to accept larger blocks via protocol and block versioning fields.

If you support an increase in the blocksize limit by any means -- or just support Bitcoin conflict resolution as originally envisioned by its founder -- consider running a Bitcoin Unlimited client.

Some say that it'll be an inevitable fork (poloniex) so pwedeng mangyari anytime. This will definitely hurt bitcoin's price. Maybe the recent surge in eth and dash prices are an effect of those shifting from btc para protektado ang investments nila.

540  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Hanggang kailan tatagal ang BITCOIN? on: March 20, 2017, 04:35:28 AM
Well, recently lang may news na magkakaron ng hard fork or split sa bitcoin network. Bitcoin core and bitcoin unlimited.

At sabi nga sa mga usap usapan sa bitcoin community, pwedeng mag activate yung hard fork "at an unknown date and time; therefore it is not possible to plan for such an event".
