5201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: September is already here on: August 26, 2022, 09:52:07 PM
So it seems September is the last month we will be able to mine Ethereum, what's next to do with our mining rigs? I believe Eth is the most profitable and Ethereum Classic is just trying to catch on, what do you believe in this stage? Can ETC be just as profitable as ETH.

I'm not sure what will happen.  I suspect the network will fork and there will be some support for ETH_PoW but likely not enough to support the amount of miners that would be mining it.  That will likely lead to other coins like Ravencoin getting some additional hashrate.  I'm very curious how this will effect the market though and what will happen to not just all the mining equipment, but to the prices of the remaining PoW coins.
5202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it profitable to hedge/cashout bets before end of sport event? on: August 26, 2022, 09:50:03 PM
Being able to cash out bets or hedge during live events is one of the coolest things about sports betting online.  Especially with basketball when it's frequent that teams go on big runs.  You can even place bets to the point where you will win no matter what the outcome if you pick your times right.  This is something I love to do when one team gets way ahead or something happens during the game that will heavily effect the outcome.
5203  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [CONTEST] Do you have the SKILL to UNLOCK this LOADED puzzle piece? =D on: August 26, 2022, 09:47:19 PM
Cool idea.  Always nice to see something new and well thought out.  Good luck to everyone with the contest!  I'll definitely have to check back and see how it plays out once a winner is announced.  Hopefully this goes well and inspires others to do cool things like this as well.  Smiley
5204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculators : Bitcoins is up now 21k buy buy buy ! but... on: August 26, 2022, 09:44:11 PM
Looks like we're getting a weekend dump.  Seems pretty standard for when the price is meant to be lower to selloff at times like now.  This is most likely selling to get ahead of the mtgox coins as there isn't a huge incentive to buy here.  The pain could continue for a few weeks so strap in.  Once the smoke clears though it will be off to the races so if you've been sitting on the sidelines it's time to start thinking about your entry price.
5205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 26, 2022, 08:05:32 PM
Here's an article that talks a little bit about why picking up Patrick Beverly makes it very likely that Russell Westbrook will be out the door sooner than later.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/the-lakers-acquiring-patrick-beverley-makes-it-more-likely-that-russell-westbrook-will-be-traded-or-sent-home-says-team-insider/ar-AA1175Za?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=cbb820dfa584252781ee54cfb0f5ef9d

I was surprised to see in the article that they're predicting Westbrook will be moved by the start of training camp.  That's right around the corner.  If that's true, we could see an announcement as early as the end of next week that Russell Westbrook has been traded for Buddy Hield.
5206  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Samsung Investing on Crypto (Bitcoin) in South Korea on: August 25, 2022, 09:42:48 PM
Samsung does seem to be jumping into crypto with both feet. While they are producing mining chips and working on an exchange, it’s something to note they’re also heavily investing in web3 and the metaverse. It’s possible they want you to be buying crypto from your tv on their exchange and using their tv to browse around in the metaverse. I’m a fan of Samsung and look forward to seeing what they come up with.
5207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: August 25, 2022, 09:39:07 PM
I am bearish in the short term but believe the current and future low prices are an opportunity to accumulate. I believe we’ll see much higher prices a year+ from now, so whether you buy today or at the absolute bottom won’t mean much. What will matter is that you did buy during the bottom of this cycle and will be rewarded for doing so.
5208  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your opinion about USA vs CHINA on: August 25, 2022, 09:36:41 PM
I think China has more people and is growing much more quickly. Certainly in 20 years their economy will be substantially larger than the United States. At some point I think the United States is likely to be the food producer for China. The relationship between the two is rapidly changing.
5209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 25, 2022, 09:33:43 PM
I know NBA fans here talked too much about the Lakers in the past but now, we aren't hearing from them anymore aside from Lebron signing a 2 year deal.
Now the Lakers traded Talen Horton Tucker and forward Stanley Johnson for the veteran Patrick Beverley.

https://sportsnaut.com/los-angeles-lakers-patrick-beverley-trade/
Quote
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Beverley is headed back to Southren California in exchange for Talen Horton-Tucker. Other reports suggest that veteran forward Stanley Johnson is also headed to Salt Lake.

Lebron and Beverley had some trash talks in the past. Same goes for Westbrook and Beverley. Do you think that he is a good fit for the Lakers. For me, the Jazz won here big time because THT got a new team already. THT isn't that explosive with his stint with the Lakers so him going to other team might be a new opportunity for him to showcase his talents. I'm curious how will PatBev fit with the Lakers  Undecided

Patrick Beverley is a good stopper Lakers can use him for that role, while they will might try to blend

LeBron,AD and Westbrook, they need defense and that might be the job for Beverly. in regard to THT, we've seen him contributing
when LeBron or AD is sitting, he adds up good numbers for Lakers offense.

Moving to a new team which is also in the process of rebuilding might give him more minutes and more time to handle the ball
I mean, he can be used as the center of the offense. Him And JC would have a good combo.

Exactly my thought as well. The Lakers are allowing a lot of points last season. They really lack in defense. Though adding Beverley in the mix will amp their defense a bit, I think it is not enough. We might see more trades coming in for the Lakers in order to boost their defense. Beverley is a good acquisition since he does not only give defense but also work on the other side of the court. He is 38% 3 pt shooter. He can extend the defense of the opposing team wider for Lebron and AD to take advantage of the paint.

About Beverley's relationship with the other Laker stars, I think they are professional enough to get pass through their past trash talks. Trash talk is part of the game and they understand that. Now that they are playing together, they can put aside their previous grievance in order to achieve their goal this season.

Russell is a pretty emotional guy. I don’t think he just lets their prior beef fade away. For me this trade signals that they think they can get a Russell Westbrook for Buddy Hield trade done. If they can, I think that would be a huge positive for the Lakers as Hield will be the best shooter LeBron’s had to work with since Ray Allen.

5211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 25, 2022, 07:16:20 AM
^ I can’t imagine Westbrook and Beverly getting along. If Russell had any part in a trade not happening before, he certainly would want out now. I think Beverly is an upgrade from THT though and a good move for the Lakers. It doesn’t do anything to solve their Westbrook contract problem though.
5212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Mutual Funds: Where Should We Invest? on: August 24, 2022, 03:37:36 PM
Both are standard and produces decent returns...but which one is better to invest either Bitcoin or Mutual Funds

Mutual Funds: According to the investment objectives, mutual funds put money in equity, debt, gold, real estate, or a mix of both equity and debt, so many of the investors feel secure at the backend...

Bitcoin: Does Investors feel the same(Secure and Trust) in Bitcoin Huh Huh

You should invest in everything. Diversification is extremely important for an investment portfolio. Even if you are certain Bitcoin will outperform, the peace of mind you get from having a diversified portfolio is worth the loss of maximizing potential gains. It’s also a lot easier to see what’s going on when you have skin in all the games.

THEY CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Sorry, I clicked here just for the Jack Nicholas memes and was extremely disappointed so I thought I would at least try to resolve the situation. Seriously though, they can’t handle the truth. LOL. Just kidding.
5214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 24, 2022, 05:52:23 AM
It's funny to see how quickly Durant changes his mind. Let me remind you that he tried to put an ultimatum to the Nets' owner a couple of weeks ago, and now they somehow managed to reach some kind of agreement. Honestly, I think Durant has been acting a little weird this offseason, and he definitely deserves to get some boos from Nets fans during the first home game of the upcoming season. Smiley

That's why the NBA Twitter world is reacting to that awkward return of Kevin Durant.

Those he requested to be fired, GM Sean Marks and Coach Steve Nash, had some serious talk with him. Seems KD really got his head too big as I read, Steve Nash convinced Durant to stay despite the latter wanting him to be fired.

Alright, now that the KD drama is ended, hoping for Durant to do his very best next season.
Wow! I am glad Nash acts like that. I can't do that if I were him. KD said some nasty things against him and as his coach, it must have hurt his feelings, and yet he is the one who convinced him to stay.
This is good. Some chemistry happening in their team. I am expecting better things to happen after this and so with Kyrie.
Last year I expected them to be at the top of the league but was a disappointment, perhaps now it will be different.

Nash has always been a class act and if he wants to have any sort of future in coaching in the NBA, which I believe he very much does, then he needed to resolve this situation.  I'm sure he sat and explained to KD how they all want the same thing and the best way for them to accomplish it is together.  Once the Ayton contract took him off the trading block it seemed like nobody else had the assets to make something happen.
5215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Started accepting Bitcoin as a 4th means of payment in my noddles DEPOT on: August 23, 2022, 11:04:55 PM
I received the first payment from 5 customers in Bitcoin, BUSD, USDT and BNB, transaction was fast and secure and my customers were happy 😁 as I was too.
Those who wants to buy noodles and pay in Bitcoin, BUSD, USDT or BNB are welcome, transaction is so fast and secure with only little transaction fee.
I am open 24/7 to receive your order, you can send DM and your order will be delivered.
I hope this is a good step I took?

Awesome.  Congratulations!  I hope that this continues to be a great experience for you and that you're able to keep some Bitcoin saved in the event we see another bubble.  You should think about making a proper thread to sell your noodles in the Goods section so that other users can support your business.  I remember someone doing this back in 2011 but they didn't stick with it.  Hopefully you can and are rewarded for doing so!

A thread has been made about an escrow deal gone bad and it relates to this service.

A good idea for people to read to see what not to do.  Always be aware that you need to secure your account and avoid clicking on phishing links.  Your internet safety and security are important.  Make sure you understand some of the attacks used against less sophisticated users.
5217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 23, 2022, 10:59:25 PM
We should stop expecting a lot from Lakers already. I get that they became champions in the "bubble" season just a few years ago, but they are not going to be that good ever again and we shouldn't really expect them to go well. First year it was championship, then they had injuries and I mean like a lot of them, then they had westbrook season which didn't fit well at all.

We should just let it be, they will be bad for a while again and then they are lakers, they will find a way to attract great free agents eventually again, and they will become champions again. So for a while, people should lose hope for them and they shouldn't really be hoping for anything more than barely making playoffs if they are lucky levels.

I mean it's better to put it this way, expect the unexpected, last year, Golden State was not expected to be the champions and the Lakers should be in top. But look at what happened, the Warriors getting their 4th ring while the Lakers was eliminated.

So I guess when we least expect then something might happen, if I may add to the equation, even Boston was not in the list as far as the East goes, it was Nets, the Bucks and the Sixers. So let's see what the Lakers can do this season, if they remain healthy and be competitive in the West then its good for us fans.

The Lakers are still a big deal because LeBron James is still adding to his legacy and case of being the greatest of all time.  When Los Angeles signed him, they knew they were going to have to put out the big bucks to remain competitive so it's fun watching them try to buy a championship.  The Russell experiment blew up pretty hard in their face though.  They're going to have to pull a rabbit out of their hat in order to fix that and add another chip to LeBron's legacy.
5218  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Massively fraudulent Escrow Transaction! on: August 23, 2022, 10:42:03 PM
I am wondering why OG and minerjones or anyone else who are offering their escrow service do not practice digitally secured signing.

I can't speak for others, but users have always seemed to appreciate my simple and straightforward approach to escrow.  My process is extremely simple and I think fair.  It should be common sense that you need to have a secure account to make trades with it.  The problem here has been identified as the user not securing their account.  Those seeking a deeper meaning or some excitement can dig into my last post on this thread.
5219  Other / Meta / Re: How to promote BTCTalk on YouTube? on: August 23, 2022, 07:28:56 PM
You might be surprised, but either way every bit of promotion helps.

*snip*
That's technically true. But as a dude who does marketing, trust me when I say that it's really not worth the effort. Blogs/articles are a far better medium for promoting an online forum.

As a dude who watches more YouTube than anything else on my TV, I can also say to trust me that nobody is looking at the comments for links to click.  On my TV, I can't even see the comments.  Even if I could and there was an amazing link, I wouldn't click it because I don't use my TV to browse the internet.  I can honestly say that I've been making and watching YouTube videos for more than 15 years now and I've never read a single comment outside of those made on my own videos (which I sometimes skim through).
5220  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Trump audit should prohibit him from running in 2024. on: August 23, 2022, 07:24:40 PM
This is a dangerous game to be playing.  You think when Biden leaves the white house he'll have any clue what boxes of what information are going where?  The idea he would have anything to do with these types of decisions is hilarious to me.  I can't wait to hear all the liberals talking about how senile Biden is and how he was too weak and incompetent to possibly steal boxes of information from the White House when the time comes.  Democrats are hell bent on turning everything in this country into slippery slopes thinking they won't slide down them.
