5241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Account disabled? on: March 15, 2018, 05:50:33 AM
Anyone have this problem? I've been trying to post, but it says my account has been disabled..

Help!
From which account? What's the exact message (no one can help you without providing enough details)?

Possibilities:

1. Ban (normal) - Nothing you can do (you have to wait it out)
2. IP ban (evil units) - You can get rid of it by paying a small fee
Q: Why is my IP banned? What are those units of evil?
A: Your IP might be banned because it was used by a user that got perma banned. Don't worry - IP bans decay over time if there's not too many of them during a small period. If you register using a banned IP, are using TOR, VPNs or well known proxies, you will have to pay a small fee. This is to prevent spammers while allowing legitimate members to post without many restrictions.
3. Locked - PM "hilariousandco"
5242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shapeshift and Wallet Fees on: March 14, 2018, 10:43:44 AM
Can someone recommend a good wallet to hold LTC funds with no fees so I can eliminate the block.io fees.
I never used block.io but AFAIK, those fees are "network fees". Eliminating those will result in having a stuck transaction.

Few other options:

1. Coinomi
2. Jaxx (don't use, read the next post).
3. Electrum-LTC (I haven't tried it yet but according to this post, that's the correct link, make sure to verify it)

Is exodus.io a good wallet for this AND can I automatically do transfers with this like I do with block.io?
I'm an Exodus user myself and it's actually known for its excessive fees, so it's a bad option (for you).

Update:
As far as Jaxx though, it was reported that another vulnerabilities has been found (https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20180227005647/en/Cheetah-Mobile-Blockchain-Research-Lab-Issues-Security). So just be careful.
Thank you for that, I crossed it from my list.
5243  Other / Meta / Re: Images in posts disabled for newbies on: March 14, 2018, 03:54:27 AM
I'm a junior member but my images are still showing up as links only... am I missing something still?
Perhaps you used the wrong format (I checked your posts but couldn't find one with an image link).

You should copy the image links, inside of an open & close img tags
Code:
[img]YOUR IMAGE LINK[/img]
5244  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism and copy/paste posts on: March 14, 2018, 01:54:23 AM
Can't believe someone (John456) just copy pasted the following Cheesy

Original post
This is very informative, and interesting Smiley I was wondering why I couldn't post images Smiley

5245  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing Bob Wallet, a trustless privacy tool on: March 13, 2018, 03:26:03 PM
Feedback and questions are welcome!
Any significant advantage for using this, instead of using mixing services (ex. The brand that I'm promoting on my signature space)?
5246  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: March 13, 2018, 02:54:57 PM
Are there any minimum requirements to post an ANN topic in the Announcements (Altcoins)?
No, there isn't any.

For example, is there any activity/position requirement.
If you want for the images to show up normally (instead of links), you have to be at least a Jr. member (or simply lift that restriction by purchasing a "copper membership").
5247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for a service that automates calculations for past TX's real value on: March 13, 2018, 11:51:40 AM
If I'm not mistaken, looking up transactions on blockchain.info does that well enough. You just need to click on the value amount to toggle between Bitcoin and dollar value. It will show you the current usd value but if you hover the mouse over it, it will also display the value at time of transaction.
I was aware of the toggle function on blockchain's explorer but didn't know the result by hovering over them (somehow I missed it [face-palm]). Thank you for this, you're a life saver (considering how long I've been looking for this).

Don't know how far back it goes as I've only ever checked txs of my owm from last year.
Did some digging and found out: It shows values/prices from 2010/08/18, till present:

- That's the starting date (according to their chart) that has value in it.
- Checked also the transactions from this address, (results are accurate).

/locked.
5248  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoCurrency Exchange Rate Calculator on: March 13, 2018, 10:53:16 AM
Apart from the above suggestions:

1. There should be a "toggle/switch button" in conversion area (I can see two arrows pointing in opposite directions but doesn't have any function).
2. After a conversion, there's basically two similar tables on "POPULAR CONVERSION AMOUNTS" section. You should either remove one or simply change the other table to have the exact opposite currency combination.
5249  Economy / Service Discussion / Looking for a service that automates calculations for past TX's real value on: March 13, 2018, 09:37:35 AM
I've been looking for a service or a way to automatically calculate what was the "real worth" for each of the past transactions on single address (with no luck), instead of seeing their "live value" (based on current prices on some of the explorers).

- I know I can do this manually by going over the available charts and simply use those respective numbers/rates in USD and multiply it by the amount of BTCitcoins each of those transactions had (in order to know its value in terms of USD, at that time) but the main issue is "TIME", especially for addresses with a lot of transactions.

Is there a service that does this?
5250  Economy / Marketplace / Re: List of stuff you can use bitcoin for. on: March 13, 2018, 06:53:20 AM
all contributions to the list are welcome.
You can also use the following website, for adding more to your list: Bitcoin Directory

currently there's no specific format, if you know a good format feel free to suggest it.
Here's a simple format that might come in handy:

5251  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Smart Ring Hardware wallet on: March 12, 2018, 01:18:54 PM
I would love to hear your opinion, If you would have used Ring Hardware wallet and If the market really needs wearable hardware wallets?
Personally I will use it (if there will be any) but not so sure in regards to the market (majority would probably prefer to use the existing hardware wallets).

Do you have a draft, in regards to how everything is going to be (doesn't need to be that detailed, as long as we can understand it's pros and cons a bit further)?
5252  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Clouds are the best? on: March 12, 2018, 08:39:24 AM
Do you think it makes sense to invest in the cloud mining of bitcoin now?
No, it doesn't (has been like that for a long time) plus investing in cloud mining, is equal to giving money to scammers (in most cases).
5253  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: HELP! I need to get a developer for my new project - where to look?? on: March 12, 2018, 07:11:54 AM
Where could I find a developer that would accept payment in tokens?
You should be more specific regarding the type of token you'll be paying with. Based on my observation, most developers would rather earn BTCitcoin (instead of a token).

Do you know if someone made a list of blockchain freelancering websites?
You can try the following:

If you would like to advertise your property, register with us coin4homes.com, and list it for FREE!
Care to share what will be the listing fee beyond the "31st of May"?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Interesting platform but bad choice in regards to chosen payment processor (IMO).
5255  Other / Meta / Re: Forum on: March 12, 2018, 01:41:10 AM
What if it's implemented in a different way, when placing your BTC address in your profile you're required to sign a message using it, if the message is valid the balance will be considered as 'available'. It won't remove scammers, but will make it harder for them to use random addresses claiming its theirs, and will be easier for normal users to view valid funds instead of going through the process of manually confirming it with dealers.
Good suggestion (as long as the whole process is automated and not mandatory) but not sure same can be done for other "cryptos" (based on OP's concern). For verified addresses, a "green check mark" can be added next to them and for unverified addresses, a red "X".

On a side note: This thread belongs to "Meta".
5256  Other / Meta / Re: Forum on: March 11, 2018, 02:56:15 PM
1) Why should we not have an internal wallet service, where when an individual advertises any crypto for sale, they should be required by the system to have the respective amount within their internal wallet of the respective crypto for the post to be approved for publication. This will help stem out scammers who advertise what they don't have and minimize scam incidences in the forum.
a) Target for the hackers
b) Added workload in regards to the publication process
c) There's also this:
19. Possible (or real) scams and Trust ratings are not moderated (to prevent moderation abuse).

2) Why should the system not be updated to ensure that it offers escrow. System escrow can be trusted by everyone. I know individuals offering escrow services may be against this since they earn from it. But think of this, internal escrow creates a sense of security, and everyone involved in the trade will feel safe. The internal escrow can also be used by campaign managers to ensure trust and timely payment.
Not against this but highly doubt it gets implemented.
5257  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Blockify] The revolutionary cryptocurrency e-commerce platform on: March 11, 2018, 08:18:47 AM
Few concerns (even though it's a work in progress):

1. Can we know more regarding the experienced developers, behind this upcoming platform?
2. How escrow providers are chosen for your platform?
5258  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Confirm please accusation. BCHconnect is scammer. on: March 11, 2018, 06:22:30 AM
You should use the following format for reporting such cases (DT1/2 members won't confirm or rather leave a rating, unless everything is clear enough):

Scam Report Format

Code:

5259  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Attention all e-commerce shop owners! on: March 10, 2018, 09:26:30 AM
I'm a bit confused about the types of payments a merchant can receive on their end (not talking about the payment processor)!
- Based on the "EASY CRYPTO PAYMENTS" section on the website, it shows merchants receive EUR, USD and GBP but based on section "3.8" of the whitepaper, it's unclear (my concern is regarding withdrawal options).

On a side note: I really like the "MERCHANT REPUTATION SYSTEM" idea.
