Be careful what you wish for. Retirement isn't all that great if it leads to being fat lazy and bored. Emancipation from job slavery is a different story. Keeping busy earning money is fun if it's on your own terms. I haven't had a job since 1976, when I was still in my 20s. I sleep in as late as I want, don't need to tolerate assholes, and stay busy enough to keep young.
