The funny thing about countries "officially recognizing" Bitcoin as a method of payment is pretty facetious.

So they "recognize officially" something that they don't have control over anyway, and the "recognition" part is just a promise to regulate and tax the transactions.   Roll Eyes

"Hey Bob, I see you're using potatoes as a form of money instead of fiat currency. That hasn't been an official form of money in the past, but we're gonna "officially recognize" it for you now. So you have to file a bunch of forms we have to approve first before we can allow you to trade for potatoes. And oh yeah btw, we're gonna need you to pay us 20% of the 'cost basis' of your potatoes for every transaction."

Wow. Just wow. Fuck that.

Do we expect to start seeing more buying pressure or demand from Japan, what the 2nd/3rd largest market, officially recognizing Bitcoin as a regulated payment method?  This seems very positive overall since it is such a large Bitcoin supporting market...

news like this usually create a temporary hype and lead to price rise but that would be short term because this is not going to make new demand overnight, it can however lead to some long term more demand and higher price.

Weird action on Bitfinex, they started the pump early (IMO) and then a 1k BTC dump into the pump, meh... Roll Eyes

It's weird that stamp's only $4 below finex, it's normally at least $10 below. The pump is wavering a bit now so maybe stamp's bigger spread will facilitate a dump back to the usual $10 below finex.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're moving up a little... currently $1060USD (Bitcoinaverage).

Still basically sideways, but creeping upward. 4 digits holding strong.

Fun to wake up to see a rally in progress.

Go Bitcoin go.

edit: In the time it took me to go pour a coffee, it crept up some more.

Dare I call this a leg up?

Some impressive alt blood right now. Does this mean Bitcoin isn't 100% completely dead at this particular moment?

Ahem... this is probably a wave B and a bull trap, so IMO take your profits when this runs out of steam, probably tomorrow.

Yes, the positive news is that the "Great Alt Bait-n-Switch Pump-N'-Dump of 2017" is now coming to a close. Wink

Be careful what you wish for. Retirement isn't all that great if it leads to being fat, lazy and bored.

Emancipation from job slavery is a different story. Keeping busy earning money is fun if it's on your own terms.

I haven't had a job since 1976, when I was still in my 20s. I sleep in as late as I want, don't need to tolerate assholes, and stay busy enough to keep young.

Full retirement can wait until I'm medically incapable of staying active.

No this isnt a bull trap. Volume is way to low for a bull trap. Just some nice start of a bullish movement/sideways.

I'm starting to think if we won't see 1700$ in april. That rise looks really healthy, and soon all the alt money should start coming back.
