5281  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the point of Bitcoin if we all are getting cucked anyways? on: January 11, 2019, 10:08:33 PM

The point is that unlimited supply (fiat) can buy everything and is centralized so its value is stable and declared by the government.
While bitcoin (limited supply) isn't controlled by the gov't which has its own value predicted by its supply and demand through us . I don't know if this answer will satisfy you.

But what is the point of having a money supply that is limited like btc when another unlimited money supply can buy all of that supply

Dont get hung up about the limited and unlimited points. No one person
can buy all of the bitcoin but all bitcoins will be bought (or earned, or traded etc.)

The point is not that bitcoin can be bought with an unlimited currency, the
point is that it is an alternative payment method to FIAT
5282  Economy / Economics / Re: Brexit we're going to know the end of the story. on: January 11, 2019, 09:59:38 PM
There are a lot of unknowns because this has never been done before.
The two countries who will be most affected economically are the
Republic of Ireland (which is an independent country and not part of the U.K)
and the U.K (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland).

Culturally they are very alike and share a lot of history, some of it good, some
of it bad. Economically they are strong trading partners.

Brexit asks more questions than solves perceived problems which led
to its acceptance. Questions like migration of citizens from europe to the
U.K and citizens from the U.K to europe. Transport is another important
issue to and from France to the U.K. Imports and exports in general
will be affected which could cause price increases and delays.

I also fear for the standard of food imports to the U.K because they
will not have to adhere to european standards.

All in all i think economically it will be a disaster.
5283  Economy / Speculation / Re: IS IT TIME TO BUY MORE BITCOIN? on: January 11, 2019, 09:36:23 PM
This is absolutely the good time to buy bitcoin. I believe this will be one
of the last chances to get bitcoin below $4000. For the past number of
years January has been one of the lowest priced months for bitcoin,
Then follows a rise.

5284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the Satoshi looks like? on: January 11, 2019, 02:32:36 PM
Nice artworks.

I know that they are just artists impressions and are pure fantasy but
why must we assume Satoshi was A. a male, B. oriental, C. aged around
20 or 30 years old.

Apologies to the artist but it doesnt seem correct to me.
5285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Apple going Crypto? on: January 11, 2019, 02:20:41 PM
I havent heard anything official from apple. They may accept crypto
in the future but its hard to imagine them accepting bitcoin for example.

They might hold out for an "official" crypto related to FIAT. I would
imagine if they do decide to accept bitcoin it would be inline or
closely followed by other global brands doing the same.
5286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption: Don't just sit down, do something on: January 10, 2019, 10:36:38 PM
It will take time to succeed. It stayed for a decade due to its technical excellence otherwise in this fast pace world product /invention become obsolete and replaced within a few years. Bitcoin will stay and go to mainstream but not too soon.
Most People are cynical of BTC and other just purchased as investment tool.
Media still  make fun of pizza story terming as million dollar pizza's and with this attitude will you be able to convince anybody to spend bitcoins?

I agree. I dont think bitcoin has to be mass adopted in the next 6 months.
It will take time, development has to evolve in line with greater demand
it all cannot happen overnight. Patience and time are key elements in this
game!
5287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most cryptocoins took a big drop in value today. on: January 10, 2019, 10:27:08 PM
For every big drop there is a big rise and visa-versa. If you check any
historical graph for any crypto coin you will be able to identify any
countless amounts of such movements. When you are around this
space for a longer time you will realise it happens regularly.
5288  Economy / Economics / Re: All times are good to enter crypto - Tim Draper on: January 10, 2019, 07:45:33 PM
All times are good for sure and no better time than now. This could be
the last chance to buy Bitcoin at a price below $4000 this year.

There is no point waiting for the price to fall further because long term
its going up.
5289  Economy / Economics / Re: You were warned on: January 09, 2019, 10:49:21 PM
I dont know anything about this new crisis or crash but i have taken three
steps since the last crash in 2007/2008.

1. Reduce debt
2. Reduce spending
3. Buy Bitcoin
5290  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-01-09] Wife of Norway Millionaire kidnapped, Monero random wanted on: January 09, 2019, 09:51:23 PM
Looks like the kidnappers are a serious outfit. Randsom wanted in Monero
not the usual hackers favourite if Bitcoin.

I think we going to see more of these kidnappings and abductions in the future
no need to ask for cash or wire transfers, they can be tracked. Monero is a
safe alternative.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/01/09/kidnappers-demand-9m-cryptocurrency-norwegian-billionaires-wife/

The wife of one of Norway’s richest men has been abducted from her home outside Oslo,
with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of €9 million in cryptocurrency...

...Kidnap for crypto-ransom has been growing internationally since the first case was recorded
in Costa Rica in 2015, with about one case per month in the first half of 2018, according to
the security firm Control Risks.
5291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will SEC never approve Bitcoin ETF? on: January 09, 2019, 09:31:30 PM
ETFs are just good for speculators, and Bitcoin has enought speculators already. I would preffer if the lighting network software gets much better routing first, then widespread lighting network adoption - this would make Bitcoin super usefull instead. After this I would not mind ETF with physically backed Bitcoins.

Yes thats a good point.
I think there are a lot of people who dont give a damn about ETF's instead
What they are interested in is the expectation that the ETF's will affect the
value of Bitcoin in a positive way.
5292  Other / Politics & Society / Re: French Government Prohibits Protesting and Freedom of Speech – Major Crack Down on: January 09, 2019, 09:07:50 PM
What has freedom of speech to do with burning the cars of people who just happened to park in the area where you want to exercise your "freedom"? What was the fault of the business owners who had their stores trashed, windows smashed or even set on fire?

People would really start o understand that your rights end where my rights begin.

When the french revolution part 2 begins they can switch to a new block chain economy based on bitcoin and perhaps some type of french petro coin. The government will learn they can't control the people if they use bitcoin

You know probably that the "petro" scam coin is a centralized coin controlled by Maduro and his cronies, right?

i clearly made long time ago in this forum the prediction that the banking cartels in the west and their "government gimmicks" will now evlolve towards communist and national socialist regime

I always find it funny how westerners are talking about the EU going towards communist. And this coming from a german who was lucky to be born 200km west is even funnier. You guys have really no idea what communism means.

Im with stompix on this, i dont agree with damaging private property.
There will always be those who hang on to the end of a protest in
Order to cause damage for the fun or for self gain in the case of
looting.

I also understand that if your message through peaceful protest is
not going anywhere it can be frustrating and things can escalate
and one thing leads to another.
5293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What did you buy with your Bitcoin as Plan B for the future? on: January 09, 2019, 08:23:44 PM
I am always thinking of the future. I am close to 50 so retirement starts
to play on the mind.

Over the last 25 years i have been collecting Coins, Books, Vinyl and
magazines, collectable ones at least and some gold and silver.

I also last year with Bitcoin bought a future classic motorbike with
some Bitcoin. (Bitcoin into FIAT)

5294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Really Meant as a Peer to Peer System on: January 08, 2019, 09:59:48 PM
Thoughts everyone. In general we really should be focusing and promoting the original vision of Bitcoin and Crypto as a Peer to Peer system. Vs as a means to invest in to get more FIAT. The Fiat system is a failure, so why should be keep feeding the bear.

Don't you all want to get your economy back and become more independent from central control.

Why or why not you want this to happen? thoughts.

Yea unfortunately the majority in the world dont care about bitcoin, they
are blind to what it can offer. They are too busy either trying to survive,
are so wealthy or are in the middle going through their daily routine.

We can still use bitcoin as a peer to peer payment system but the bitcoin
ecosystem is not yet evolved enough to realise this. As long as we BUY
bitcoin it will be used as an investment. When we can earn bitcoin and
widely spend it then the ecosystem will be better.
5295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nobody wins in gambling anyway on: January 08, 2019, 09:40:07 PM
Whether the gambling is online or over any other offline zone doesn't matter big. The house win percentage will be always higher than that of the individual person's winning. To break this users develop strategies and one who have guessed in the right manner wins while the others lose their spending. So winning happens, but it is lower than the winning percentage of the house.
Yes we can win but still there is no assurance that it will last longer on our pockets since usually we keep on playing no matter how big the money we earned. We are tend to be more greedy, and ended up losing and this is why the house always win simply because of our action and we don’t have any plan at all.

Correct, thats the nature of gambling. We tend to think that the knack or
luck or whatever will continue. People do create their own strategy and
believe they can make gains with it .
It takes time and money to figure out the "correct" strategy
5296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earning Bitcoin is good, but don't depent on it. on: January 08, 2019, 08:21:05 PM
It is absolutely right that who fully dependent on it, he is great fool. My opinion is don't depend on bitcoin. You can take it like a part time job.

Dude... You guys are talking about depending on "Bounties" - That has nothing to do with depending on BTCBTCBTC

Don't be a bum bitcoin bounty dumpster diver and expect to find a shiny new lambo  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is up over 1000% in 2years. Most traders made some serious money last year and hopefully saved some for the bullish times.

I agree, there are people who make a healthy living earning bitcoin
but not just from bounties. There are people who trade, who create
content for example to earn bitcoin.

I wouldnt be worried about the volatility because the high prices
balance out the lows.
5297  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the faith of bitcoin this year on: January 08, 2019, 07:37:12 PM
Bitcoins FATE is that it will continue on its path to further adoption and
further development.

People who have been with bitcoin and believe in its future will continue
to remain FAITHful
5298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the records on BITCOIN approaching? on: January 08, 2019, 07:17:47 PM
We will have a lot more of the same, until early February when the SEC makes their decision on the Bitcoin ETF and then we will see either a rise or a drop in the price, depending on what happened with that decision.

That is to say, if nothing noteworthy happens before that, because I heard the Japanese regulators wants to approve a Bitcoin ETF before any other country, so that might push the price higher before the US announcement.  Roll Eyes

This is interesting, if the Japanese regulators want to approve an ETF it is
more or less a given then that it will go ahead.

However it is hard to say if there will be a rise in the markets eventhough
the news would be positive.

We have seen it many times "buy the rumour, sell the news"
5299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Are Selling off Their Crypto on: January 08, 2019, 01:40:55 PM
The only ones selling now are the traders. Those who suffered from FUD
have already sold. They are probably looking at the markets now and
realising their mistake.

Its a buyers market now.
5300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if? on: January 08, 2019, 01:22:37 PM
I wonder what would have happened to bitcoin if satoshi nakamoto was an American and come to think of it will all what we've been denied of in cryptocurrency world come to past already? I'm talking about ETF ,bakkt ,regulations ? If America was bitcoin birth home what would have happened by now? Just a thought

Bitcoin is global, every country acts differently to it. Regardless of where
bitcoin was created we would still be where we are now.

And also we would be in this position even if Satoshi was known. Bitcoin
is much bigger than 1 single person.
