5361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 WNBA Discussion and Betting on: July 27, 2022, 09:52:55 PM
Looks like the Biden administration might finally be bringing Brittany Griner home. They’re going to have to trade a convicted arms dealer serving a 25 year sentence for Griner, who once physically assaulted her wife and is now jailed in Russia for being caught with a controlled substance. This will no doubt be celebrated by the WNBA.
5362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul v Hasim Rahman Jr / Amanda Serrano V Brenda Carabaja co-main event Aug on: July 27, 2022, 06:42:53 PM
There’s a zero percent chance that we’ll be seeing Mayweather in the octagon. He’s an elite fighter, but I’m guessing even the worst fighter on the UFC roster could easily end his career. He definitely won’t ever be in an MMA fight with McGregor. As much as I’d love to see it, there’s no way we ever will. Crazy to think it’s even a possibility.
5363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 27, 2022, 06:40:51 PM
It seems like the big guys who own exchanges are pretty confident that the last quarter of this year is going to bring a massive increase in the price of Bitcoin. I suspect they must know something we don’t, as this is a strange time to be feeling extremely bullish. I would agree that we’re nearing the bottom though as far as a timeline. If the 4-year cycle is to persist, I’d want to be heavily invested in BTC come the end of the year.
5364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: July 26, 2022, 10:33:20 PM
It pains me to bump this thread again...  It really does...  I read an article today though that says McGregor and Mayweather are currently in talks to do a repeat of their last fight.  Supposedly they're arguing now over what the rules would be.  Dana White recently said that he wouldn't sign off that fight, but money talks and I'm sure he says that every time he would have to go into a negotiation like that.  It sounds like a fight is making progress though, which is confusing because McGregor said that his return would be in the octagon not the square.

I like Bill Burr’s cake analogy with regards to abortion. If you haven’t seen it, then I highly suggest watching. I’ll try to find it and link below. It is both hilarious and spot on. I agree with his take on pretty much everything and think he does a good job presenting things comedically. He’s definitely one of the greats and he’s pro-choice.

Best link I could find at the moment.

5366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Tips To Aide Successful Sports Betting. on: July 25, 2022, 10:49:25 PM
Beyond all this basic elements of making sports betting successful, it is a must to go with the sports in which you've got better knowledge about players as well as have more information regarding the game. This can increase the chance of winning than just going over random bets on games that we don't have much knowledge. Maybe for a while one might get lucky, but the same won't last same as we spend and win on the known games.

Definitely. You need to know which players are playing vs injured. You need to know if they were out partying late the night before or if they’re battling through personal issues. Did the team just play the night before or have they had 2 days off with a practice to prepare for the game plan? There are definitely ways to give yourself an edge and the big boys are certainly tracking all of this and more.

I’m sure they’ll just redefine it the way they’re trying to redefine what marriage is, what a woman is, and now what a recession is.

Worst of all in my opinion, is that the White House keeps talking about how strong the labor market is, when we have the lowest labor participation rate since Vietnam. They are lying and when they can’t lie about the numbers they’ll change definitions to fit their narrative. I hope America can survive this weak leadership for another two years without causing any more lasting damage.
5368  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analyzing Holdings By Entity Size on: July 25, 2022, 05:42:32 PM
Purple Line - BTC Supply Held by Entities with Balance 0.1-1

Since one entity can have multiple addresses of multiple sizes, I don't know if any chart (or any conclusion) based on balance sizes can be accurate.
So, sorry, but I find this yet another attempt to find correlations.

It could be the result of an exchange breaking down their balances or something similar.  Hard to say for me, as I don't waste time worrying about what others are doing with their coins.  I have seen this statistic touted many times recently though, as the chart is astounding.  However, I think if it were the result of a major entity distributing their coins across multiple addresses for whatever reason, some chain wizard would have likely identified this and made it known that's what is happening.  So I have no reason to doubt that it's legitimate growth of the userbase.
5369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork? on: July 25, 2022, 05:37:50 PM
It will need at least a decade for quantum resistant algorithms be considered seriously or even make their way into bitcoin. Right now we have no reason to want to think about any kind of fork whatsoever.

This seems to be the conclusion that most computer scientists come to when discussing quantum computing.  I always laugh when experts think they can make predictions about technology advancements.  I know that quantum computing is being worked on and will be a real thing far sooner than the experts predict.  I also know that a lot of people are going to be reactive instead of proactive when it happens.  This is why "smart people" are dangerous and shouldn't look for reasons to put off necessary development.
5370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and western usa power on: July 25, 2022, 05:32:40 PM
if there is signs that usa western powers are out or even might get attacked military or cyber or other ways then im out of btc becouse btc relie on usa servers and exchangers.
Btc can shine only if usa banking power strong

The USA is being cyberattacked every second of every day.  Bitcoin doesn't care.  Another thing Bitcoin doesn't care about is the USA's banking system.  In fact, the weaker the traditional banking system gets, the more people will be forced to use Bitcoin.  I think your take here is a bad one, and the rest of your post seems to make a lot of incorrect assumptions as well.  I would recommend that you read into why Bitcoin was created and the future that satoshi hoped to bring to us before posting more theories that are just plain wrong as if they were facts.
5371  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🔥Casascius 2013 Brass Authentic Custom Pendant Necklaces on: July 25, 2022, 05:13:08 PM
Hi Og, I searched far and wide and never could find exact size (I did not search for airtite size pendants) pendants for the size of 1 BTC and .5 BTC Cas’s. Because I could not find anything for size or appeal, I had to have a jeweler custom make and plate in quantity after sending them samples for the custom sizes. Luckily, the minimum was almost exact to the number of peeled Cas’s  I had, so each Cas has a matching pendant. I have been asked if I can separate the pendant and sell individually, but as each is matched to a Cas I cannot separate. As for pure Silver and Gold I may consider this in the future, but the material, tooling, and quantity would make my cost so high it may price the end product out of what most of us can afford. Because of the uniqueness of these, and the high cost on my end, the manufacturer agreed to only produce this exact size for me. Sales have been good, so if there is a demand for more premium materials (Gold for example), I will definitely explore that in the future. I hope that addresses your questions.
I'm curious if these necklaces (chains) are a custom made product for these coins or if it was an off the shelf item that happens to fit Casascius coins.  My interest being in perhaps having a silver or gold version made (or finding one that is already for sale) that could house a 39mm airtite capsule.  I'd love to rock one of my own creations in a chain like this and I'm sure others would have a similar interest as there are plenty of coin-makers here.  Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but the idea of wearing a minted seat around my neck as a conversation starter is pretty cool.  I do worry about corrosion though without the coin being in an airtite.

Yes, it does.  Thank you.  If you ever do decide to look into a silver or gold version that could fit encapsulated coins I would definitely be interested as either a customer or an angel investor in it.  Although I would be a bit surprised if such a thing didn't already exist.  You having done the footwork would have a better idea than me for sure.  I appreciate your response and if you wanted to privately steer me in the right direction to start a search for an already existing solution, feel free.  Smiley
5372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 25, 2022, 05:07:32 PM
Yup! this is what I am thinking that may happen the chemistry on the Boston Celtics teams is already there, if they get to the finals without any big superstar names then I think a revision on their play style would be a good choice for them, but yeah this is surely their decision to make, if they want the championship that badly then be ready for a risky trade just to get Kevin Durant,

It's just crazy how the Celtics have all this young talent (accept maybe Horford) and went to the Finals this year, but now they're ready to blow up the team just for a chance to give Tatum and Durant a tiny window of opportunity to win a Championship.  There must be more to the story.  Brown played great so I think maybe he wants the keys to the franchise and they've already been promised to Tatum.  The Celtics had a great thing going.  The injuries to Isaiah Thomas & Gordon Hayward along with the drama from Kyrie Irving really set that franchise back.  Danny Ainge was looking like a genius up to that point.  Now it seems he's trying to salvage anything from the leftovers.
5373  Economy / Gambling / Re: My list of good crypto casinos on: July 25, 2022, 05:02:50 PM
I wonder why there's no even at least one popular casino in this forum are listed in your reviews site because it's really popular rather than your 20 reviewed casinos. When I search "bitcoin casino" or "crypto casino" on google, there's 3 casinos which popular in this forum appeared on 1-3 pages, I didn't even find any casino that you included on your sites on the last 3 pages. Is there any reason why you're choose those casinos?

I don't know which casinos are popular on this forum. My listing is based on my experience. These casinos that I listed pay players' winnings and also pay their affiliates for their effort. Which I can't say for some "popular casinos"

Well if you ask me the most popular casino here would have to be Stake.  I mean, they've partnered with Drake...  It doesn't get much bigger than that.  They also pay affiliates (feel free to click the link in my signature to see) and I've never had a problem getting $ from their affiliate program.  I'd recommend.

This leads me to wondering what the requirements are to be listed on your site.  Are you asking casinos to pay you up front to be listed or is it just that they need to have an affiliate link for you to use?

Congratulations to Stake and their team for reaching the 100 billion bets milestone! There are really a lot going on behind the scenes that people do not know about, so I want to thank Eddie and the marketing team and the support and mods and developers and site admins for all their hard work.  Wink

We know Stake.com has fought many battles with DoSS attacks and scammers that are constantly trying to exploit loopholes, but they still managed to keep the site running.....  Grin    Well Done, now let's see if we can reach the next milestones ==> a Trillion bets! or a quadrillion...then a  quintrillion or a sextillion...!!!!

100 billion is a number that's hard to comprehend.  Absolutely amazing milestone!  The work stake has done to form partnerships and stay operating at a high level can't be understated.  This team has partnered with some of the biggest names in entertainment, grown their presence here with an ever evolving signature campaign, and now you can see Stake hats and t-shirts all over YouTube thanks to their advertising agreement with the Nelk Boys.  I'm impressed with what they've done and am watching to see how big this thing will grow.  Congratulations Stake!

The latest Woj bomb is that Boston is back in the Durant sweepstakes.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1551454984314753024?s=21&t=w1qEPWBdZ9JMV3B1ji-y5g

I don’t think it would be a good idea for Boston to get Durant but it seems like they’re always on the list of places Durant wants to play. I’m starting to think the Nets are the most likely team for Durant next season. I would like to see how a Durant and Kyrie trade would play out though.
And break the chemistry? Ouch! They just got to the Finals, that should at least mean something to the Celtics management.
Jaylen Brown will be part of the trade, that's for sure and that also maybe the best offer the Nets could get if ever they want Durant out just to end this long drama.
JB and JT may not like what will happen but the fans may want to see this. KD in green. Somehow it made me reminisce the KG era.

Not a good idea to get Durant while sacrificing the roles players, I hope they will not be greedy, they just go with the process, getting in the NBA finals is already a big success, who knows next time they will be the NBA champion. Celtics has to focus on improving their team not getting an old superstar that could already be prone to injury.

As long Tatum will stay and they will get Durant, that would make the team better I guess. Boston will not gamble if they know that would not help them, however, there's no guarantee, so just like the Nets, they are also taking the gamble if the trade will be successful.

Shams reporting this morning that the Celtics offered a package surrounding Jalen Brown for Durant, which the Nets turned down and then countered. It’s starting to look like a deal might be made this week to send Durant to Boston. I don’t know if this is a good move for the Celtics considering Brown carried them through the playoffs last year, but everyone said Tatum and Brown wouldn’t work so maybe they want to blow up that situation.

5377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin declared ‘dead’ 52% less in 2022 despite bear market vibes on: July 24, 2022, 08:11:04 PM
Not to discount the Bitcoin economy’s effect on the price movements over the 4 year cycle, but we do still seem to be following that pattern. It should be no surprise to anyone that we’re now seeing lows. If you were to go by the cycle, we should still be in for dragging the bottom another 3 months. With the mtgox distribution approaching, that seems to line up for another coincidence. Maybe an approved ETF will coincide with an increase following the next halving. Wouldn’t that be another coincidence?..
5378  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto lender Celsius mulls possible restructuring amid financial woes on: July 24, 2022, 08:07:21 PM
A ponzi is a scam in which previous investors are repaid by future investors investing more money. That is not what is alleged to have happened in the case of Celsius. What appears to have likely happened is that they made risky loans that turned bad.
Sure, but they didn't end up with a $1.2 billion hole in the balance sheet overnight and then shut down withdrawals the next day. They have obviously had major liquidity issues for weeks or months, all the while continuing to advertise and attract new users as well as encouraging more deposits from existing users with their obviously unsustainable interest rates of up to 20% a year. They must have known full well for some time that they would be unable to pay out interest to any new deposits coming to their platform, in which case these new deposits were likely only being used to pay interest on older deposits and keep them afloat while they struggled to secure additional sources of funding.

So no, while their business model is not a Ponzi and giving out unsecured loans is not a Ponzi, I think it is highly likely that they were operating like a Ponzi in the weeks leading up to them suspending all accounts.

Seems like an accurate take. By accepting deposits they created a need to repay. Then by using those customer funds to profit they turned their depositors into investors and their funds from liquid to illiquid. Without a way for customers to trade their illiquid investment, they became bagholders for a failed business model which continued allowing deposits after being insolvent. I don’t know the laws about accepting new funds once you’re insolvent but I imagine they will be tested in this case.
5379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: July 24, 2022, 07:50:08 PM
I think for one to truly understand the market they need to be aware of both the bullish and bearish cases for Bitcoin. There are many of each. I personally think that Bitcoin has broken the barrier of acceptance and as a result of Wall Street wanting to offer it as a new financial asset class to be managed will perform quite well. However, I also recognize that hodling has no value and Bitcoin could easily be surpassed by another more useful form of cryptocurrency. I guess as an investor you have to weigh each side and decide which will be right and which will not.

I can't believe nobody is talking about Paddy the Baddy teabagging his opponent after the win.  That guy was talking all sorts of trash about how he was going to beat Paddy and then twerk over his unconscious body.  Absolutely hilarious that Paddy won and then teabagged him.  "Modern Warfare 2" I had to laugh.  Paddy was even disappointed with his performance, but the teabag will live on for quite some time I'm sure.  I can't wait to see Paddy fight again.  He may be my new favorite.  This doesn't even mention the guy had a body transformation before this fight that you have to see to believe.  His weight loss should be getting him endorsements, although I'm sure it was all a mental thing for him.
