It will never exist an honest ponzi , come on guys stop this bullshit here. I suggest you before invest in this scam , read at least this : " A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that involves the payment of purported returns to existing investors from funds contributed by new investors. Ponzi scheme organizers often solicit new investors by promising to invest funds in opportunities claimed to generate high returns with little or no risk. In many Ponzi schemes, the fraudsters focus on attracting new money to make promised payments to earlier-stage investors to create the false appearance that investors are profiting from a legitimate business." I don't really care, the only thing I hate is the PM ponzi spam from new users but that has only happened to me a few times in this most recent crop-up.
I also received a few ponzi PMs spam , and I've reported them to an administrator . I think now we need a new forum section only for the Ponzi schemes, what do you think ?

Holy shit I see some users here call this ponzi schemes : ponzi games, then this type of thread should be moved in the "games & rounds" section. However please post a signed message or I think you will receive a negative feedback , because you are a liar and this community don't trust the liars.

with the stupidity i see in this topic, no wonder these scams keep showing up daily ... "ponzi is a game" .... jesus christ .... ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) +1. A ponzi is a fraud, period. Just changing the word scheme in a Ponzi scheme to game is not making it legit. +1 The others who claims different, there are 2 options : 1. u're incredible naive ( i tried to be nice) 2. u're behind these scams and try to convince us they are a game (rofl) There is no way to defend ponzis with logical arguments. How much overwhelming forum support is needed before any action is taken for a different section? I'm not sure a different section 4 Ponzi would suffice; also, making an ad-hoc section for them seems to be exposing the bitcointalk forum (and its Admins) to legal liability for "supporting" them. I think a better solution is if everyone here hand to Ponzi runners a fair share of -ve trust. The negative trust isn't doing anything. The Gambling board, as we speak, is overrun completely even with all the operators carrying red trust. 3/4 threads are hyip related. They scam with a brand new account and then make a new one. If there were some kind of restriction for newbie new posts, it would help. Newbie jail, like the forum had before, would curtail the number of new threads and shill posters. Maybe the newbie jail is good only for that section (gambling). What do you think guys ?

10 BTC is no small amount of money for a lot of people. A lot of the early adopters had sold their coin at one of many market peaks/bubbles. This would also take up the majority (80%+) of the current total supply of bitcoin
this and the fact that bitcoin isnt well - known by the people that can afford this investment with little to no financial consequences. And I doubt many of these people would even be willing to make that purchase with the recent price drop with little confidence on how the price will change. Bitcoin doesn't need to be "suppress /holded" , it was created for spend it to buy product anonymously if the other parte sell it for dollar ( it is not a great decision). However I hope when the people stop to dump their bitcoin the price will be stabilized and more people can use directly bitcoin without be worried about the price in dollars or euros.

I read somewhere (and this was several days ago) that the bitstamp hacked addresses were still being sent btc's (50k worth) at that time. So what is being done about that? Imagine you have saved a bitstamp old address and sent 20 btc's there only to find out it doesn't belong to bitstamp anymore.
Is bitstamp compensating it or what is going on right now?
It's gotta be a lot more than 50k now, i'm sure there's people still sending to old addresses.
NO, it doesn't work like that, this address belongs to the hacker and the hacker only: https://blockchain.info/address/1L2JsXHPMYuAa9ugvHGLwkdstCPUDemNCfCoins are still going into it because the hacker is still sending coins into it, these coins could be hacked from bitstamp(if people still send coins to bitstamp's old wallet) or hacked from somewhere else(almost every day someone has to lose some coins, that's why we say bitcoin is not secure and less by less people decide to use bitcoin) I know that, but is bitstamp going to compensate all the users that don't know about this that have sent money to the hacker?A lot of users think it was a fault in the RNG, so maybe that addresses are not of "bitstamp" but maybe of other users or exchanges. I don't know , but most probable : yes.

I've been reading posts recently and I've seen many members saying that the price WILL increase because of the block halving. I understand the basics of supply and demand but I cannot determine why will it push the price upwards in bitcoin's case? As more and more coins are being minted, the higher the difficulty will be, and the more miners will quit on mining because it seems to unprofitable. However, that still doesn't help determine the price of bitcoin.
Can anyone help me understand this block halving-price relationship?
One of the post was mine ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) , because less btc "mined" more the value will rise. We have seen cex.io closed because the price dropped too much , now wait 1 second and think about the question of the halving | 25 BTC >> 12.5 BTC | I think the price will (surely) rise little , if it will not happen I think most farm will stop to mining bitcoin (and obviously the home mining will stop for ever). Halving reduces the current growth rate of supply. The fact that it becomes more expensive to mine reduces growth rate of supply. If demand stays the same the reduction in growth of supply will eventually not be able to keep up with demand, thus forcing buyers to bid up the price.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Yeas I agree with you.

Using bluetooth? so its still vunerable to local attacks and people listening out this could be pretty bad in a high dense population as this could become a frequent attack looking out for bluetooth signals and intercepting them
Interesting possibilty , thanks for you opinion. This way it is only in the place without an internet connection.

"A prototype cryptocurrency point-of-sales (POS) terminal called Bitcoin Box can process transactions without the need for an Internet connection. Instead it relies on Near Field Communications (NFC) and Bluetooth to enable payments." I think this is a great news, and in the next 5-6 years the bitcoin will be more easily to use.
