5381  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: Black Arrow LTD on: October 07, 2015, 09:02:34 PM
Current date: 04 October 2015

Order date: 25 November 2013.

Promised shipping date: 24 February 2014.

Status: order not shipped.

Refund: refused.

yeah, same here.

well except i ordered in december i think.

i am not sure if they planned to scam from the start, or if they just had horrible management that led to their failure, and then they just failed to refund people, but either way, a lot of people were scammed for a lot of money.

I should add that BA did send me an e-mail in May (2015) stating that my order was ready for delivery a few days after I contacted the HK Consumer Counsel and had them request a refund on my behalf. The CC sent BA a response but it's now mid October and still haven't received anything. The miners are obsolete garbage now, I want my money back and if they insist on delivering hardware I want $5k worth. i.e two Bitmain S7s or equivalent in current Bitfury hardware.

This was most certainly a planned scam from the very start, these guys have a history of online scams back in Romania. Alex (BA CEO) has been convicted of credit card fraud as part of a network of fraudsters and fled to the UK.

no offense but that is the dumbest conspiracy theory ive ever heard.
Copernican Revolution goes back 500 years.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copernican_Revolution
unless you believe the earth DOESNT revolve around the sun, the sun has to be much much more massive than the earth based on the laws of gravity.  That's just common sense.
The Earth is flat, the Moon and Sun orbit above.
EDIT:
We're drifting way off topic here.

I impressed by the number of people you trolled here.

Nobody's touched my on-topic post yet! A camera that can see around corners (spin-off technology from this super fast camera) is a security concern not just for Bitcoin private keys but has widespread implications.
5383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can This Super-fast Camera be Used to Crack the Bitcoin Code? on: October 07, 2015, 08:11:03 PM
You can pay Richard Branson some bitcoins and go to space, and see for yourself the earth is round.

No need, I can prove the Earth is flat with a telephoto lens.

bake it at 350 degree for 5 mins

Be careful with F or C. One will have your chips sitting in a pile in the bottom of the oven.

Pretty sure thats in F. But i'd still like more information on this. I'm not going to slap my S5 blade in an oven because someone told me to before properly understanding the risk even though i understand the concept.

Yep. Solder melts at 180-190C.

What you're doing here is if there are any stress-fractures in the solder which are causing issues, you are hoping the solder will melt just a little and reform a good joint. It's not a great way to do it but it's cheap.

Personally I would first inspect all solder joints with a magnifying glass. These joints can sometimes be seen. Additionally, it looks like most of the joints are accessible so you possibly could attempt this with just a soldering iron.

Personally, I'm a bit skeptical given that the chips are reporting good but I don't know enough to speak with confidence and someone else is reporting that the reflow worked for him. If nothing else seems to help though...

Edit: Just went back and saw it reported --- when run in tandem so I'm no longer very skeptical.

I see, i'm not very knowledgeable with circuits but i do have the tools for this, could you tell me more about what to look for? I can tell what a capacitor is because its a cylinder, but you know thats pretty much it. Tongue

I could make do with an example however.

I've had success in the past with a bit of flux and some copper solder wick to clean up botched solder on ICs. You'll need the right flat tip and an iron with adjustable temp, don't attempt this with a dollar store soldering iron. If there's insufficient solder on the IC then just glob it on and wick it off, add flux if it starts to clump. The solder should be shiny, covering the leads in a super thin layer. You shouldn't see any bulk at all. Use a moist sponge to clean the iron tip constantly.

Hope this is helpful.

5385  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: October 07, 2015, 02:51:52 PM
Yes it is, I just can't figure why he's pushing XT? Anybody with the technical skills to re-code p2pool with a 42% improvement in speed should have the good sense to stay away from this XT nonsense.

This isn't really the right thread or forum for that discussion. I'll give a brief bullet-point answer. If you want to have a conversation about this, we should probably move it to a different forum or a separate thread so as not to derail this one.

1. Because I think that large blocks are technically feasible, and will not make Bitcoin insecure, inaccessible, or excessively centralized.
2. Because I think that Bitcoin can handle much larger blocks (up to about 32 MB) and transaction volumes than we currently have without any code changes (except the block size limit) or exotic hardware.
3. Because I think that there are enough possible optimizations in both code and semi-exotic hardware to bring us safely up to 8 GB blocksizes in 5 years if we try hard, and in 20 years if we are lazy.
3. Because I think that BIP101 is better than BIP100 or any other proposal out there due to its simplicity, predictability, and because I think its growth rate is reasonable and unlikely to require later changes. BIP100 would be a distant second place in my opinion if it were implemented.
4. Because I think that large blocks are the most feasible method of paying miners enough in fees once the block subsidy drops below 12.5 BTC.
5. Because I do not think that consensus among developers is a reasonable method for making technical decisions for large or controversial projects.
6. Because I do not think that consensus among any group is a reasonable method for making political decisions, much less consensus among a subset of developers.
7. Because I like the way Gavin thinks about technical and political problems.
8. Because, although I think his conduct could be more gracious and polite, I think that Mike Hearn has been right about a lot of technical and political issues lately.

You can also see some of my comments on the issue here:

https://www.reddit.com/user/jtoomim/

Ahh I see you're pushing XT for political reasons; backing MitGavin and GoogleHern.

A good daily driving vehicle should probably be reliable, efficient, comfortable, capable of dealing with inclement weather, and inexpensive and easy to fix when something does need repaired.

I don't have a lot of experience with 911s but I would imagine there are a TON of better options out there, especially for 40k.

Then again, it all depends on your budget. If I could afford it, I would daily drive a Boeing AH-64. Wink

Dude, the blades are going to fuck people up if you drive that around the city!

they re-enforce that the idea that the Sun is a massive object when it's only 32 miles across

The sun is only 32 miles across?

Ehhhhh NO.

More like 80,000 miles across.

Using a sextant I can prove that the Sun is in fact only 32 miles across.

What proof do you have that the Sun is 80k miles across?

A scientist who in 1899 claimed the diameter of the Sun is only 32 miles said this:

"The sun is only 32 miles across and not more than 3,000 miles from Earth"

And I don't blame him because it was long before all the space missions which proved that at the distance 3,000 miles from Earth there is no Sun.

And after measuring with a sextant he said:

"'The sun is always somewhere between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, a distance admitted to be less than 3,000 miles"

Which is also not true according to data provided by NASA.

But I can see your point (I am saying this without irony), NASA is maybe lying, right?

I don't think NASA is lying but that is just my opinion, I may be wrong.

Well it's up to you what you prefer to believe. The reading a sextant gives or 3rd party information from an agency formed after WW2 from operation paperclip where they imported all the Nazis and gave them high paying jobs and positions of power within the US gov.

Political propaganda/psyop or reading the numbers off a gauge, the choice is yours.

So i now have a dead PCB, when plugged and the miner otherwise running, the chip will return ------------------------------- and the voltage across the board is 0. When ran alone it will report oooooooooooooooooooooooooo but won't hash anyways.

Any thoughts? Any thing that can be easily checked to know if the board is salvageable?

There is something you  can try but may need a oven and bake it at 350 degree for 5 mins then let it set with the door open  till it cools off  that worked for one of my S5 that was reporting the same thing . it's worth a try if it's not working now, other wise it may have gone bad . There was a post in German  once that explained what it may be with one of the little grays things near the PCIE plug that may need to be placed,

I've used the range to repair my router in the past, cooking a populated PCBs sure stinks like hell!

You can probably find an old Boxster for under 10k, VW makes them so lots of non-critical shit breaks and falls off but they're still really awesome.

I'd drive a Carerra GT every day if I had one! Boy that would piss a lot of people off. But I don't get angry when I see somebody driving a cool car, even the janitor. So really "they" can fuck off!

Sounds like our mystery DNA is from a reptile ape based on that. The alternative would be giants maybe?

We assume a lizard man would look like a lizard, but what if he looked almost like us but with radically different DNA. Scientists (yeah yeah) have shown that convergent evolution (yes things do evolve over time) can take two different spices and evolve them into almost identical forms. Perhaps the giants DNA had a different origin (reptile) than our ape ancestors but their form ended up being the same just at a different scale.

The Devil seems to like to twist the truth rather straight up lie, our current scientific model of evolution being one of those twisted truths.

I don't believe in being related to apes but it's an interesting theory otherwise. Smiley

We're related to all life on Earth, just more closely with the ape.

Correct?

Video: Evolution is Dead We all come from Adam & Eve

"In this video I share the one scientific fact that destroys The Evolution Theory. A scientific study that was conducted 2 years ago confirms that the genetic variation between all people is 0.1 %. Showing our common ancestory. This was done by Dr. Georgia Purdom and shows how when God separated people at the tower of babel is when diversity started. If we evolved from apes there would be millions of genetic differences between us all but it turns out theres very little this proves Biblical Adam and Eve!

Answers in Genesis Adam & Eve:
https://answersingenesis.org/genetics/did-we-all-come-from-adam-and-eve/"

The cheetah has fused chromosomes for making incompatible DNA (dog & cat) work together just like humans (ape & Huh). I think that's plenty of evidence we're engineered beings and not just the product of natural selection.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Men_Are_from_Mars,_Women_Are_from_Venus

According to some texts, the Nephilim (half fallen angels/half human) manipulated animals and cross-bred them. One theory is that this messing with the DNA of animals and such might be what caused the viruses and sicknesses we see, like genetic disorders, etc. Before that period there may have been no diseases. According to the bible people lived longer back then.

I suspect it's our current diet that causes the shorter life span, without carbs and sugars as a staple our metabolism slows and the rate at which our cells divide is reduced to a fraction of their normal (carb supercharged) rate. But Adam just had to eat the apple and his brain went OMGWTFBBQ give me more on the fructose and alcohol and the rest is history.

Notice how much "they" push wheat in the west, rice in the east and potatoes in the south. There's a wheat plug somewhere in most major media (along with a globe Earth  Roll Eyes).

I'm sure there's a lot more to the 900 year life span we use to enjoy but diet is definitely a major part of it.

I'm starting to eat healthier than I ever have been. It's amazing what realizing is in your food and being disgusted by it makes it easier to eat healthier and enjoy that. I was just looking at some noodles I've recently tried, and realized they're made from rice. You really would never know it, they taste like regular noodles, but have no GMO or gluten etc.

As far as Adam eating an apple, it's also called a fruit, also been theorized to be a quince. I'm really leaning toward it being a representative of carnal knowledge and sin. They hid their shame (sexual organs). The Lord was all about giving judgments to deal with the crime, like eye for an eye. If you work the punishment backwards, Eve has pain with childbirth and to be ruled by her husband, you can see she probably committed adultery with the serpent and had Cain. (1 John 3:12 - Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. )

Genesis 3:16 To the woman He said, "I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you."

Also the serpent was not crawling on the ground originally, but was afterward cursed to.

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

Sounds like our mystery DNA is from a reptile ape based on that. The alternative would be giants maybe?

This technology was developed in India over a decade or so ago, why is MIT trying to take credit and claiming it's "new"?

EDIT:

oh, and Google has been cleansed of all the old links and only gives links to the new MIT articles. Nice...

EDIT 2:

ok, I found an old video from 2011, it still says it's from MIT but do recall this being even older than that and being developed in India with no mention of MIT.

TED.

Ramesh Raskar presents femto-photography, a new type of imaging so fast it visualizes the world one trillion frames per second, so detailed it shows light itself in motion. This technology may someday be used to build cameras that can look “around” corners or see inside the body without X-rays.

I think I first saw this in 2009, I guess MIT bought this guy out. I wonder if he hangs out with Gavin now?
5396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In your own words: What is the purpose of Bitcoin? on: October 06, 2015, 06:06:05 PM
Well, as you correctly assessed, you are indeed naive, Bitcoin is no different from any other forms of money. Changing the medium will not 'repair' the system, you'd have to change human nature to do that.

I believe you're mistaking human nurture for human nature. Bitcoin is decentralized without a 3rd party, this makes it radically different from fiat money. Bitcoin isn't an attempt to repair the current system where the coke snorting psychopathic diddlers that make up the 1% get 98% of the wealth. It's going to replace it allowing our good nature to flourish.

"Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved." -- Matthew 9:17

No.. just no.

Two problems I have with that image, they imply the Sun is a sphere with their Dyson's Sphere power source when it's actually a concave disk, they re-enforce that the idea that the Sun is a massive object when it's only 32 miles across and their Bitcoin symbol is an upside-down cross. However, the point they make about the virtual impossibility of cracking Bitcoin is all good. I just don't like the agenda they seem to be pushing/re-enforcing subliminally.

I remember a decade or so back there was this guy (can't remember his name ATM) on TV in a big press conference promoting free energy technology. What a shady dude, he was such a straight shill. He didn't provide any new information that already wasn't on the net and then he would go on about fucking UFOs and aliens. This was all not too long after the Cold Fusion media blitz.

Turns out the aliens are actually Nazi modified Romanian children (thank God they only used Romanians) and the UFOs it seems were reverse engineered again by the Nazis from ancient Indian manuscripts (vimanas). Then after WW2 all these Nazi dudes were brought to the US in Operation Paperclip where the Department of Energy (this is where our shill comes in) continued the the human experimentation. Not all the Nazis went to the US however, some went to Russia where they developed the Indian vimanas technology (UFOs) and others to South America where they've been doing God only knows what. Probably more human experimentation as the continent has a long history especially with the Olemec's of freaky human modification (see ancient alien skulls).

Credit were credit is due, India deserves more recognition for their technological achievements over the last 10,000+ years.

5400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: October 06, 2015, 03:23:40 PM
So far I've played poker and dice, purchased coffee and an antminer but, mostly I've traded it for dirty fiat currency from the local Bitcoin ATM. With increased adoption and hopefully more money in my pocket I'll be using it to buy stuff (other than more miners) online in the future.

For online purchases it beats credit cards hands down, the merchant gets his money instantly (almost) and for the buyer it's just point and click at the screen with your cell phone and you're done. This is the future of money.
