541  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [FREE] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool on: November 13, 2017, 01:18:16 AM
being a newbie, can you provide what the stats (A: R: HW: WU:) mean? I'm currently running 6 gekkos but, want to learn as much as I can before I go for the S9s. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the CGMiner UI?

If so:

A: = Accepted shares
R: = Rejected shares
HW: = Hardware errors
WU: = Worker utility, shares per minute rate

These are defined in the top post of the CGMiner thread and are also in the readme files.

545  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: USB Miners on: November 10, 2017, 09:48:38 PM
so you think these youtube videos are fake? omg lol! how to fake stats o bitminter while filming? perhaps they are using Adobe After Effects software to fake it? Cheesy videos made this year. USB miner in which im interested is new gekkoscience with 15gh/s which will make me only 0.01/0.02BTC a day! If you are so sceptic wait till Christmas and I will share my earning stats here Smiley

I think youtube is about the silliest thing going these days.  Yes there are some useful how to videos such as how to properly light a cigar and PragerU.

But there is no way in the world your going to make .01 BTC ($69 USD) per day with 15Ghs.  I have 74 USB BE's 1 Jalapeno and two 800Ghs Monarchs which are all shut down because their not worth the electricity to run them.  If I were to make anywhere close to .01 BTC per day, or even per week, I would be running them.

But please do let me know how make out by Christmas time.

Have fun.
546  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: USB Miners on: November 10, 2017, 08:13:54 PM
Well Im gonna buy it and try, i saw 4 months old youtube video where guy testing asic usb miner with only 330 mh/s earnings - (0.0054BTC a day) with 15 gh/s must be more. I saw new usb miner gekkoscience, if its useless then why they selling it?

Nobody is making $38 USD a day on an old USB Block erupter.  That is what you call a bald face lie.

You do understand that people who post You tube videos make money off of advertising right?  They'll say anything to get views/revenue.

It's also possible he was mining some new sha256d altcoin and then cashing it in for BTC.  But if you want to trust a Youtube video over a modicum of common sense then by all means go ahead.  At least you'll have learned something first hand.  And USB miners don't consume allot of electricity as some other alternative learning methods do.

Have fun.
547  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: USB Miners on: November 10, 2017, 07:06:39 PM
https://youtu.be/PyQEf_LlbUk Im not joking watch this video, with 3000 mh/s he earns 0.0172 BTC a day, calculate with 15gh/s = around 0.06 BTC a day. Ok if Im wrong, but with 15gh/s should still earn around 0.02 - 0.03 BTC a day i think.. Why people buying antminer with TH of power? because they want to make lots of BTC in one day.

Oh, you got the idea from the repository of the sum of all human knowledge, Youtube!!  Doesn't anyone look at the dates of things anymore?

When the BFL Jalapeno's started trickling out when they were new, 4 or 5 years ago, they may have made that much BTC, but, not anymore.  Now the entry hash rate is in the range of 8 to 14 THs that doesn't even approach the numbers your talking about.

Don't waste too much time with Youtube, always exercise a bit of common sense and research to corroborate what other sources claim.

Good luck.

Is it possible to make 0.06 btc a day with 15 gh/s gekkoscience usb miner on bitminter? Undecided

Your joking right?  If we could make $420 USD a day with that low hash rate why would anyone buy an Antminer running 14Ths?  Or mine any alt coin?

551  Other / Archival / Re: Mining pools list on: November 08, 2017, 12:14:41 PM
what pool can I choose today?
what are their differences?

One of the important differences between the pools is the cost of entry and the existence of the affiliate program. also, there are a lot of fakes

I use Bitclub Pool. And I'am satisfied.

What you are describe is NOT a pool, but a Ponzi scheme.  Stay away from those!

You're wrong, man. All the information can be easily verified on this website https://blockchain.info/pools. That is all that is not specified here, is already questionable

Paying, up front, for the privilege of mining on a site is NOT a pool.  A legitimate pool takes it's fees from found blocks only!
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: minning is it cheap or not ? on: November 07, 2017, 12:00:53 AM
what is the minimum Graphic card to start minning ?

Bitcoin difficulty is way too high to mine with GPU's.  GPU mining became obsolete around 2013.

So... if you want to GPU mine you need to post in the alt coin section and ask for advice there.

You couldn't pay me to mine on Kanopool.  The guy is just terrible, he runs his thread like a little dictator and his supporters are drunk on koolaid.
...snip...
Don't actually ask him about that unless you want him to throw a hissyfit and demand you leave his self-moderated thread.

It seems you have cornered the market on hissyfits.  Don't you think its time you have grown up?
555  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CANT MINE WITH USB BLOCK ERUPTER on: November 05, 2017, 01:33:32 PM
Block Erupters are only 333Mhs which is a very low hash rate.  Current pools have a very high initial difficulty for ASIC's that run in the 8 to 14 Ths range.  So, it will take a long time for your  block erupter to find a share.  Once it does then the pool will probably adjust it down so that you see 18 shares a minute or so.

So what pool are you using and what version of CGMiner?  Does CGMiner show you a hash rate?  If so what is it?

Hi
This is my first mining with s9, I don't have earlier experience mining earlier.

I have setup my miner and antpool account, but could not see any hashing on antpool. Please see some pictures. Where I am wrong?

Antpool has a support thread.  You should use it.

OK I think I see whats going on here.

If you look at this block, mined by BTC.COM here: https://btc.com/0000000000000000001bc14d31cd78cba9af69b4ef9af8fac9f3aabb260658de

You can see the size is over a Meg but the stripped size is under.

Same for the raw data for the last KanoPool block here: https://btc.com/0000000000000000001e04433a329abe9308ce304f64da81e8ec1c9d3522308b

I thought the >1MB blocks would need the hard fork which is yet to come?
