541  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info The Breaking News Is..... on: March 04, 2014, 04:31:25 PM
There are surprising flood of totally unimportant information recently mixed with gossips and unrelated opinion of "messengers". I also love when someone post "News" as someone's post on his/her blog...

soooo... any important news?
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEO of Blockchain.info tweets "Big News Dropping Tomorrow" on: March 04, 2014, 04:10:26 PM
I guess people wont care so much over time. Bitcoin became too big thing to care about some companys

544  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Stolen from Poloniex on: March 04, 2014, 03:30:43 PM
There were a lot of hacks recently. Maybe we should try to look for different way of store and work of exchange. Or maybe finally people would use insurance or realize not everyone can just run a company that stores people bitcoins without protection.
545  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Here Comes Bitcoin Reguation on: March 04, 2014, 03:19:13 PM
"These Bitcoin prayer words give Bitcoiners a false sense of the crypto currency’s invincibility." heh article with links to information from year ago. First of all it is only USA and they already put some restrictions on it, second, it is rather hard to restrict or even tax bitcoin in proper way because of its decentralization.

good luck i guess hehe
546  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and Deflation of Price and Money Supply on: March 03, 2014, 02:48:51 PM
Well a lot stuff to read for someone who haven't encounter economics before but isn't here one major error. Bitcoins aren't exactly money as we know it. Supply of it is totally different thing. that might be some similarity but in long run it won't be just another currency.
547  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why aren't we hearing anything from Jeb McCaleb? on: March 03, 2014, 02:39:55 PM
His silence speaks volumes...  Lips sealed

But heck, he's busy working on thesecretbitcoinproject:

"I sold Mt. Gox a few years ago, Bitcoin was trading at less than a dollar. Today Bitcoin exists in a new environment. Mt. Gox is struggling to keep up. Now, I am building something that will be better for Bitcoin and better for you."

http://alphatesters.secretbitcoinproject.com/

If he sold it few years ago it is hard to relate him to current events. But "something better "... hmy ... investment market that use bitcoin as currency ? that would be better but true nightmare from legal point of view, unless founded in Palau.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal: UK Bitcoin Trade Association on: March 03, 2014, 02:28:29 PM
And for what exactly do we need it ? Proposal is one thing, but to be honest you need any one permission for it since we are decentralized community (what is good thing). It would centralize us, I don't even want to start on downsides of such idea.
549  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: New BTC faucet! on: March 03, 2014, 02:21:40 PM
Since it is new BTW faucet were there any before ? I meant i don't mind any one doing it i just wonder what happened to older ones
550  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Calling out the Bitcoin Foundation Scam. on: March 03, 2014, 02:13:47 PM
Well everyone cal create foundation and can give it different names. No one car really force any one to give them money, same as no one can take away they money unless it would be used in different way than foundation states. We could create another foundation but who really want to waste time on it. Only problem might be they sometimes represent bitcoin, but soon second market or other bit company might to do and I wouldn't be surprised if it would end up even worst.
551  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: March 03, 2014, 01:42:38 PM
Brand new ideas of bitcoin promotion. So how did this promotion ideas going?
552  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX Statement *NEW MAR 3RD* on: March 03, 2014, 01:33:51 PM
Interesting is this might be one of first cases where bitcoins would be seriously taken as assets. I don't like some of changes force in all of this statements but i bet they get good enough lawyers for that. Ironically there wouldn't be so many problems if maybe they bought themselves insurance or store data off-line. Or maybe just limit on bitcoins stored on people accounts. At some point they were not only exchange but also bank in some way.
553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Real bitcoin market value after Mt. Gox on: February 28, 2014, 05:33:44 PM
Because of the way how bitcoin is created you can't just determine the value based on old days. When you see graph of price over recent months you can see it is nothing traditional way of thinking about market had encountered before. It is large variety of problems related to mining difficulty and speculation prices . Mining problems are easy to understand, speculation part is more unpredictable obviously. China is investing a lot, no wonder since they currency is probably more virtual then bitcoin (ok, I'm joking here Wink but what is actual inflation of they currency ?  weird, isn't it ). Everyone want to start argument, but people who should take biggest part in this discussion are bussy.
554  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What if BTC-e shuts down? on: February 28, 2014, 05:21:32 PM
This discussion is no even close to actual topic. Everyone just have bad hangover, some even a bit too big and just need to blame the players , not the game. Most of times people lose money they blame companies or banks responsible for it. Not money itself. Bitcoin went a bit too decentralized and spreads around even some other cryptocurriencies too just get shut down. I'm not even sure if it is possible at this point and since it is heavily based on mathematic computing power then actual people, some kind of weird theories about any one holding it all together is rather ridiculus.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Oh, I can't believe a magical, made up currency didn't work out" on: February 28, 2014, 05:11:24 PM
Well all normal currencies without gold or anything backing it up is made up and "magical" or I''m guessing you meant virtual in some way. The fact government wont give you gold for dollars and it isn't made of gold or silver or anything as it used to be, it all doesn't stop you from using dollar or whatever your countries currency is right now. Unless it is unstable.
556  Economy / Speculation / Re: speculating on bitcoin-Second market chill effect? on: February 28, 2014, 05:03:44 PM
It wouldn't be just another exchange. It would be whit listed, not everyone would be able to join from providers side. It all is rather blurry "The company is planning a hub-and-spoke style exchange, where only member firms can directly transact business, a la the New York Stock Exchange. ". Of course it is they choice and it might attract different kind of crowd.
557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Crooks are not Who We Thought They Were on: February 28, 2014, 04:38:09 PM
There is very easy solution - stop putting all of your money at one place !!

When people will finally understand it. When you keep money at bank and it will go bankrupt you will lose part or all of money that were in this bank. When you invested all of your money in some stocks, you might lose it all if it ends up bad investment. If you even keep all of your money in normal paper united states dollars, it will become just a paper when country collapse or also decide to go bankrupt, not to mention inflation.

You can always keep money in different form and in different places. It is not a new or surprising idea.
558  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox Files for Bankruptcy (Buying time) on: February 28, 2014, 04:29:10 PM
3k$ ? Well that's optimistic xD

There is no real reason to move away from bitcoin right now . Bankruptcy alone created fall of about 1,9% right now and it is rather unlikely for any further drastically changes. We definitely shouldn't  get panicky as we did few days ago.
559  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazing daily analysis on cryptocurrencies from China on: February 28, 2014, 03:04:16 PM
There are certain trends that are easy to notice on market, creating any kind of expectations towards future also might influence market in one way or another. Something what wasn't true might become true after we find loud enough tube that everyone would listen to and fallow the lead. It would be nice if our friends would not only make prognoses but also mention some proper reason. Being too rational or not being rational enough is no reason a all.
560  Economy / Economics / Re: Fixed supply, really? on: February 28, 2014, 02:14:44 PM
There will always be some kind of limits when it comes to supply of anything. Modern monetary policies lead us into probably limitless supply of money only in exchange of it constant fall of value. In general there wont be any real benefit between stable prices and inflation, in long run relation between prices and salaries shall stay the same, in short run it is different issue. Short run changes of price might create stress and confusion or even panic for consumers. Sudden growth of prices while salaries still stayed the same is not something that any one enjoy. Of course we are all aware that after some time it all would go back to balance.
Banks are well known for manipulation when it comes to monetary system. They are probably biggest reason for inflation over all. Every time when we keep some money in bank, and use same money to buy anything, bank still hold this money and do whatever it wants with it. Until elixir and actual movement of money between banks, we are all working only on virtual numbers that doesn't need to represent any actual value behind it. Bank from single 100 dollar bill can make 200 $, 300 $, 400$. Doubling its value with every transaction. Cheque and other kind of financial papers creates even bigger manipulation.
