Good News! Cryptopia appears to be updating their XMG wallet..

MRD
Thats great now give XMG some volume on Cryptopia and hope they will change the idea of delisting our unique Magi XMG!

I like Cryptopia, trading actively couple of coins there, but cannot compare to Bittrex. But, if we need some volume on Cryptopia to keep Magi listed there, I will start making some orders.
Thats great amigo. I also like Cryptopia and hope the will look positive at XMG.🖒

I'm spending most of my spare BTC on XMG. Was lucky one time, less lucky this time...
Prices are low enough to buy. Looking at charts over last 5 months it shows a good direction.

Yes Magi has a stable line up. Not fast but thats ok.

The best way to get rid of Magi is to sell into my buy orders =)
Market isn't moving that much at all. A lot of altcoins all at lower prices now. Was hoping for some rocket now that some exchanges are open again.
Hmm for buyers it might be a good period!😀

Hey,  I've noticed that the block rewards change really drastically with Magi, why does this happen?  I've not seen this before, it's something built in to the code?

Is the there an android/iphone miner that can function in the background. I am using neoneon miner and it stops when you do anything else on the phone. I did find a miner that will work in the background but it only does that after you pay and I have no clue if it will mine xmg's algo. Any help is appreciated so thanks ahead of time Smiley
Yes there is one sec. Will search for it

Edit: find it

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kangaderoo.neoneonminer

Another app i find:

Any news about suprnova ??
Did not receive a respons yet. Maybe they are giving it some days to see if all things are running smooth for some time. Think it is now.😅

looks like it's taking them forever  Huh
We in the Crypto world always like fast things.
But sometimes its good to be patience.

minerclaim is having issues
I'll give them until Saturday, then move pools if its still not working - not earning much through mining these days

Magi price seems really stable these last few days =)
Seems odd. Their stratum mining blocks, but database is not accounting the blocks.
Hope they will resolve, they have quite some catching up to do.

Indeed, market stuck on 6200 - 6300 range... not really moving.
BTC price is quite high, perhaps people holding on until BTC price drops.
Iam waiting for a little drop!😉

I had the antivirus warning come up for the magi wallet, but windows defender being the crap program that it is shows absolutely no reference to the wallet.

but now its coming up with this app cant run on your PC as if the magi wallet is some 1000 year old app thats just not compatible?

Any work around that doesnt involved copying my wallet.dat to another machine and waiting 3 days for it to sync up again

*** EDIT *** found the fix myself

- added an exception to windows defender for m-wallet.exe
- deleted the 1.4.4.1 folder
- unzipped the folder back to the same spot

oddly enough defender doesnt remove it, just seems to block it so if you add the file exception, delete the file then put it back again your wallet works again

Thanks for the tip vervetech!
Posts are going fast here in the Magi OP.
Good to see our friendly Magi community is very active.

when starting the magi wallet, it uses an online service to check your IP + nationality.
Trojans most likely use the same service and thus this part got added to anti-virus software as being "suspicious".
some anti-virus tools will not take anything else into consideration and will just block the whole thing.

Sadly this is really a trojan

i've tried multiple altcoins forked from similar bitcoin version and they dont express same behaviour in virustotal
did you use the magi wallet that is on the first post? i suggest you download the compiled one from there if you didn't.

edit:
i just checked the sha256 hash of the wallet i use, it's the same as yours. strange.
You mean you don't have that issue deztroyr1?
I don't receive a message from virusscanner.

AV cries about the IP check that is built in. apart of that it works fine. just now i checked for suspicious connections but all seems fine.
dunno what 62.210.131.147:6667 does. other coins connect to this ip as well.

i don't think there's a trojan. obfuscated code might be flipping out virustotal
Thanks for the fast reply. So its all ok. Good thing!

well I've checked a bit deeper now to see what 62.210.131.147:6667 does.
your magi wallet will actually connect to an IRC server and join channels.

Code:
Internet Relay Chat........
.......    Trailer: End of /WHO list.

some anti-virus software detect an IRC bot. The above code proves that the magi wallet in fact contains an IRC bot. this does not mean that this is dangerous for you. but obviously your computer could be used for automated illegal activities.

someone better come up with a good reason for this IRC bot.

Antivirus definition updates from many a/v vendors today are flagging several wallets and miners as trojans or malware and all sorts of different names - technically this is correct and always has been because this code "can" be used maliciously but for those of us who have been doing this for a while, we call it a false flag detection.

We (I) could be wrong and there could be some nasty code there that we've missed but as of now I don't see that happening.  Unfortunately, the bright bold warning from many a/v programs is enough to deter the majority of users and rightfully so.

The IRC code in many wallets does introduce vulnerabilities to the system and can be used maliciously, I believe this was a tool for discovering nodes, peers, and IP's - the problem with that is that it works both ways and you are no longer incognito because your IP is also discoverable.  It's more complicated than that but that is enough to be flagged right there.

Some coin devs have been making wallets without the IRC code in order to not get flagged by a/v software as being malicious, maybe Joe can create a separate wallet for us without that code?  I'm not a dev so I have no idea what is involved in this but I have seen other devs do this in a matter of a day or two and going forward I think this would be a smart move - security and safety first!

In the meantime, I'm using the wallet without issue but I do not allow it to run 24/7.

(Virkol)
Thanks Virkol for this. It makes it clear now.

Windows defender is finding m-wallet as a trojan! is this normal?
We could ask Virkol. He is very good with these things.

saw the same thing pop up on mine this morning.

Are we sure it's a false positive?

No decision will not always be bad. It also could be a good decision for Magi. In that case they would keep Magi on the exchange.

Message received from Cryptopia exchange.
They will look into the wallet updates & if all things are running smooth Cryptopia might keep XMG on the exchange. Lets wait & hope for good news! 😀
