I had a question earlier about using the private key as a secondary way to backup your wallet.
To save your private key using "B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W" as the example address:
1. Start your XBC wallet
2. If it is locked just unlock it but uncheck "For staking only"
3. Go to menu Help > Debug window > tab Console
4. In bottom input box type the following line and press enter
dumpprivkey B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W
5. Write down code returned on few papers / files / whatever and keep it safe, that is private key for address B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W
6. Later if your HDD fails again, computer ends up stolen or something like that just use
importprivkey privatekey label
to import address to some other XBC wallet. Label is name for address that will be imported, it can be anything you want.
It would also make sense to store the wallet.dat file on another secondary disk drive or usb and if your pc crashes just get another wallet and insert the wallet.dat from the usb into the new wallet programme files.To find your executables just type in roaming into your windows searck and go to bitcoinplus files and delete the empty wallet and replace with your old copy.make sure it is named wallet and not XBCwallet,bitcoinpluswallet etc etc

I have had a question about how to start staking in the wallet after setting it up etc so :
When you open the wallet it will automatically search for nodes to connect to.This may take a while so just leave it open until it finds something and you should end up with about 20 connections.
Your wallet will start staking coins on its balance after 24 hours.You can also make sure that coins are always kept out of staking and a portion of your balance is always spendable by going to : settings > options and then entering the amount in reserve that you want to keep spendable.

All of crypto is still in the infancy stages... and XBC isn't dead. Still a dedicated group behind it with plans. I'm not part of the team anymore, but I'm def a supporter.

XBC needs to be something that is instantly transfereable, while also being instantly respendable, and while being near impossible to doublespend... also totally decentralized and have minimal to no blockchain bloat, and have the ability to have 1000's of tx/sec

The price of anything will go up and down. That's why it's best to sell some and take profits when it's high and then buy back when it falls. I have no doubt that Ether will eventually rise again but right now there is a domino effect that means that people start panic selling when the price falls. Whilst I have great confidence in Waves it would be a mistake to assume that it will be a pure upward trend in value. Many people bought 1000 eth during its crowdsale and sold for maybe twice its price when it hit an exchange and probably made 1 btc profit where if they held until it went to .03 they would have turned their 1 btc into 30btc but that is only using ethereum as and example and hindsight of course is as useful as backtesting.I am going to hold 75% for the long term and see where this goes. |

CoinoUSD (12982485703607823902) is no more used and has been replaced by NXTUSD (1938368828495773639) that you can trade on the asset exchange. The transfer between NXTUSD and coinomat is not working at the moment. I take it there will be some type of swap?or is it just going to be renamed NXTUSD on poloniex??You used to be able to buy coinousd and get the same rate V usd on coinomat but the price has dumped way down so am wondering what the fixed rate would be if there was a swap if that makes any sense.thanks |
