I see a lot of FUD coming from other coins in this thread.
Instead of fighting, lets support each other. Most of the top anon coins are completely open source (SDC, XMR and ANC). Copycats cannot be prevented. Instead of fighting with those who copy us why not diversify and buy a little of all the coins that are actually innovating.
I know lots of people who own SDC, XMR and ANC. Lets support each others innovations and ignore those who copy us (stealth address clones, ring signature clones and soon Zerocoin clones). There is no point in fighting those who clone us. The market will reward the innovators in the long run.

Nah there are lots of good people at XST. If you bought a stack you'd feel different.
I bought XST at 1100. After a week i sold it at 9500 when i learned more stuff about XST developers and made the full code-research. And now i'm going to stop talking about this coin here |

I suggest stop quoting these guys because when the mod returns we will have most of them deleted because none of them are remotely on topic or factual.
They followed me here because i'm creating a debate in their stealthcoin thread that has nothing to do with shadow other then i have had enough of their project and toxic community roping in suckers with smoke and mirrors to sell them coins for something that is doomed to fail because it is junk scam vapowrware.
I have had enough of them staining the anon networks name with their junk because someone is pumping their markets. People are looking and all they are seeing is a bunch of children and they are representing number #1 anon coin in some votes which makes me sick because it is clearly fake to most of the anon crowd but newcomers dont know this and instantly judge the standard based on their behaviour.
And it effects the whole anon community but i have not mentioned shadow once. So you can see how pathetic they are coming here to attempt to create problems..So please don't acknowledge their existence and we will get them deleted asap

Usual folk don't like to wait and some people are jumping to another coins now. After some time they will jump back to sdc. This is a classical principle of volatility. |

I've seen this moment at coinsource before. When BTCD priced 80ksat this resource published the first article about it. After a month BTCD's price mooned to 1200ksat... The same situation is now and i feel deja vu |

Couple thoughts. If it matters, I work at a wall street bank and have an understanding of the relevant market dynamics. Triff generally has the right of it.
1) Two separate coins is a bad idea. Or at least its bad for Fibre. The value of Fibre is essentially a claim on the future development work and adoption of Fibre. If there are instead two coins by the same devs with the same ideas, you're not getting any synergies, you're just getting disorganization and dilution. It would be like if Satoshi had come out with Bitcoin1 and Bitcoin2. Doesn't make any sense.
2) Donations requests are also a bad solution. It's the classic "tragedy of the commons" problem, where gain of the community and gain of the individual contributor are highly divergent. It makes too much financial sense to sit back and hope others donate.
3) Given 1 & 2; it seems the best course is to either (A) hardfork Fibre to effectively create a new / larger "premine"; or (B) create a new coin that accomplishes the same thing by allowing Fibre holders to convert, with the end result that current Fibre holders have the same ownership levels in the new coin as they do in Fibre, except that the dev group has a greater share.
Possibly more creativity is needed for (3), but (1) & (2) are unworkable.
