541  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: February 29, 2024, 11:19:01 PM
When you have one or more children, you have heavy responsibilities. Sometimes you're on a tight budget. Can being a parent change our playing habits? Are losses even harder to bear when you're in charge of a family? What are your experiences in this area?
Well, I'm not a parent yet but I know that being a father or mother has its ways of changing ones perspective of everything and that can even include gambling.

The morals of a locality can determine how the parent would see gambling after having children or when they have children around. If usually as a single man you gamble with a 10% of your income (which is not advisable) as soon as you became a parent you  will automatically reduce the rate at which you gamble because there is a consciousness that your responsibility has increased and as such you should reduce you rate of gambling.

So being a parent really changes alot in ones life, if you get angry when you loss and you express them in your face or attitude at a point when you become a parent you will some how not want your children to notice the sadness or you will like my pretend you are okay when deep down you aren't. (All this are based on personal perception).
542  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Law of gravity no de apply for di prices of goods inside Nigeria on: February 29, 2024, 10:55:43 PM
Normally me I dey always talk say Nigerians na opportunist, no mata how dollar fa reach the people no go ever gree drop price instead them go start to complain about one nonsense we no really mata for the reason why things still dey cost. according to the opportunist theory " opportunism, a foundational assumption of many economic theories that claims human beings are generally self-interested and will take advantage of others when possible." this theory exactly naim dey really explain everything about Nigerians, everybody just dey find there own things to feed family and so them no really care weytin go be the effect of their action.

So as it stands now I no sure say price of good and service go fit drop except thw government come turn back to the market and force them just the way them dey force exchanges so that price go drop if not, the opportunist in them go even escalate pass like this.
The title of the thread self na the really matas, that law abi theory no dey function for here at all.
543  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Recent dollar price. A good one? on: February 28, 2024, 04:21:23 PM
I have no problem with naira increasing in value even if I earn in dollars I will still prefer naira to increase but is it even possible for naira t
keep increasing when the government are making more foolish money from currency devaluation.

They are not ready to start providing jobs for citizens, so they still want us to relay on dollar paying jobs.

my only concern is is the fact that goods and services that are high already can not drop prices even if naira keeps regaining value. like wtf is wrong with our marketers, why not help ourselves than complain from morning till night whilst they force the economy to be bad.
544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Common misconceptions about cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) on: February 28, 2024, 03:43:51 PM
Sorry to say this, I don't really understand why newbies like to teach when they should be learning this is one big mistake I never did. instead of saying things and then it will turn out that I was very wrong I will rather remain silent and learn the basics before trying to contribute.

I suggest you should also consider that.
From your perception your absolutely correct with your led down misconception about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies (including shitcoins) at large but believe me as time goes on you will then to find out that you where wrong in some point. Although you're making good points too but for me I think it's not time to teach rather you should spend more of you time visiting the learnmeabitcoin.com website https://learnmeabitcoin.com/ to have background knowledge of Bitcoin including the technical related knowledge of Bitcoin.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Detrimental Impact of Sports Betting on Genuine Sports Coverage on: February 28, 2024, 02:55:23 PM
The increase in sport betting websites etc has been responsible for all this ads that we keep seeing in recent times.

Almost everyone want to be the top or wants more traffic than others so they pay people to put in there ads every where in the internet no just podcasts and others as you mention but almost every where. imagine making a transaction with a local bank app and you're seeing ads asking you to deposit and play it's insane this days.

I gamble but not always so I get pissed when I see this ads, the podcast which you mention are even hosted by this sport betting cooperations so how then do we stop them? it's just a matter of time we will get over it.
546  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of Bitcoin hit a new all-time high? on: February 28, 2024, 02:43:59 PM
Even though you have gotten enough response but I will still have to put this out to you that there are lots of Bitcoin speculation thread in the forum that you should have considered visiting or read articles to know if bitcoin will reach a new ATH, although even if we all keeps predicting or speculating what the bitcoin market will do we still don't have an avenue of getting it right.

I will drop some few threads that you should consider checking to know more about the bitcoin market and speculations.

547  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoiners don't spend all your profits. on: February 28, 2024, 02:28:39 PM
It's now a common advise to bitcoiners to always have an additional source of income to over come what ever that might happen, along the way in this bull run.

it also very much good to always save but not only in fiat but you can save in some stable coin if you have gotten to you desire target during the bull run because every day the fiat keeps depreciating even with the governments effort to appreciate the national fiat but yet is keeps fall, so since we haven't seen the pick of the bull run we should keep holding and expect the best of its all.

additionally, don't forget to always use a non custodial wallet and/or self custodial wallet to store your coins.
548  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nation wide strike on: February 28, 2024, 02:17:29 PM
There is a very bad omen attached to strike and that is why it's used to threaten any government in power but in Nigeria and any other country.

it's said that any government that I'd not function for a 24hrs which is a day is term a bad government but in the nation or international organizations and as such there are some punishment attached to it indirectly in the international organizations like, ECOWAS, AOU, UN, etc and this is why most government doesn't want any of that to happen even in other countries they sometimes use force (military) to shut the people up. in that case taking a nation wide strike is very much needed to push this government to a positive side although we know our country it's never going to work even if the strike holds.

If only thia government was lead by a reputable and disciplined individuals then it will take any shape. having it been so corrupt has not let us know peace ever since the past few leaders. no wonder leadership has been revolving around two parties in Nigeria whereas we practice a multi-party system yet another disciplined party can to produce a leader, in as much as this two party keeps producing a leader then I don't expect any good change in the country.

Everything has begin to make sense to me now, even pastor T.B joshua had prophecies on how bad the economy of Nigeria will be in 2-3 leaders hands which he approximately called it 10 years plus suffering before it will be revolutionized.

Additionally, what our ex president said about farming was a good idea but at the same time a bad one, what will happen if he changes the government for better. he brought this slogan of change during his campaign which was introduced by thia incubate president, we thought it was all for the better rather it turn out to be hw worst, I feel like we made some mistakes by not asking the exact change which they were going to bring to Nigeria during the campaign. BTW we are already facing the problems but let's have it faced and hope for the best.
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You See Losing Your Weekly Payment to The Casino on: February 28, 2024, 01:46:24 PM
How do you see losing your payment to the casino?

Do you see losing your payment back to the casino as your own form of indirect support for the project?

Do you think that I already have a bad gambling mindset thinking that by engaging in one or two bets or games I am supporting the project I promote?

Although I'm not wearing a signature campaign of any casino that advertises here in the forum but I will have to contribute based my perspective of reasoning.

I don't see losing as a way of indirectly contributing to a casino that I'm advertising, in as much as I'm already puting on the signature I believe I'm already contributing to the casino directly. when people see the advert frequently they tend to use them. so as much as they patronize casino I'm already doing my part for the casino. Since we don't intentionally loss our gambles but it's a matter of luck then if i wish to support by using the casino i will rather gamble in there so that as I loss I know that I will be getting my money back from the signature campaigns that they are paying me for wearing their avatar and signature.

As I said earlier I don't think you have a bad gambling mindset rather you feel like it's better to loss to the people who are paying you weekly that loss to some other people, with that you're indirectly supporting the project.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: February 28, 2024, 01:29:20 PM
Gambling will only be good or will have good effects on people if only they start obeying instructions, you have done will to outline times that we shouldn't gamble but for it would have been better if you include when we should gamble too in the list.

Giving only one side is not proper so you should include but ways. BTW, in the aspect of chasing loses I think I have been a victim of that some time ago, when I lost little bit of my attention into gambling that I felt I could make all that was lost into gambling but at the end i did realize that I was only going to indebt my self more and loss the rest of my money into gambling. After from that I think I'm okay with gambling when ever I feel like since I'm not trying to make a living out of it.
551  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The challenges of binance. on: February 28, 2024, 04:27:40 AM
Whatever binance and the national monetary policies of Nigeria decides to it's absolutely not going to pull anyone down.

There are probably taking orders from higher authorities just cope with the current situation in the country. but we all know that they are just beating around the bush whilst the real economical problems remains.

it's another avenue for another exchange to blow up, the influence Nigeria has in the internet I know if they find another exchange to deal with then that exchange will sure grow as fast as possible.
every one can now download a non custodial wallet to store his or her coin although not every one using binance has good crypto knowledge, some were taught how to use only binance as traders etc. but anyways we still move no matter what.
552  Other / Off-topic / Re: Everything you need is within you on: February 27, 2024, 10:14:05 PM
I agree with you to some extent that one has every thing it takes to be successful but why do we keep getting this statement from people who are not yet successful? yeah because it's easier said than do. some person who could be advising you may not make use of his own words of wisdom, I'm not specifically talking about you OP but a general notion around the globe.

One thing I know for sure is that, one needs to have one thing which he or she knows how to do  very, every one has a role to play in life and when it's your role play it very well. in regards to this if you got a skill then what is left is to maximize your give, use it to make money how ever way you can.

In respect to what you said about crossing ones lane, yeah we shouldn't be looking at another person's success story and hence force ourselves to be successful in that same way, there is this popular quote that saids " if 1+9 = 10 and 5+5 =10, 8+2=10 etc then you should find your own solution, we all must not go with 5+5 but we'll still land at the same answer. further more focus is what must people lack instead of share 20% of your attention to 5 different things why not use a 100% focus on one and you will run faster and achieve your life goals.

Well it's all in ones court to play the ball, if you win the whole team wins but if you loss then only you loss.

554  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [WARNING] Fake Sparrow Wallet app on the Apple app store on: February 27, 2024, 05:24:59 PM
Thanks for the information, I have an experience on this fake sparrow wallet.

My eldest bro downloaded it and he thought it was the really wallet on iOS but some how we were suspicious about it so we had to uninstall it. then we choose Bluewallet, I think people are really falling victim of this app because it bull season and new investors are trying there out new things and could fall victim easier. just like .y bro if we weren't together discussing I think by now he would have fall victim too.

well I really appreciate this information.

I also have a little question; is it possible that since he installed it already that there could be malwares monitoring his phone?
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the rules for finding wallets on: February 27, 2024, 03:06:40 PM
Basically its almost impossible to find a wallet private key but if you do then it's now in your court to play the ball.

It's said that not your keys not your coin, so it's now your keys and hence your coin in some sense. but it's morally bad to keep another man's property to yourself, you should find a means to reach the owners.

But if you feel like spending the coin then you should know that your ID is always with exchanges so if you're thinking to spend at same time remember the authorities might track you because I'm the areas you mention Bitcoin isn't a legal tender but it's still legally used hence it's tired to governmental authorities and that could land you in jail if cought.
556  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Watin dey make you dey invest on shitcoin dey bitcoin on: February 27, 2024, 02:49:56 PM

559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have this practice of gambling during one's wake on: February 27, 2024, 10:28:01 AM
Not familiar with this, never heard of it before I guess it's my first time and most people from Nigeria too.

here in my country there other cultural activities that happens during the wake but gambling is not one of them. although its peculiar to your country that is why culture is dynamic, but for my country we have different ethnic groups and different activities are conducted in each ethic. I can remember something I noticed while I was very much younger, where after about 4 days after the deceased has been buried the family will gather of a night and kinda stay up all night but I don't know what it is that we really do but I know we just stay discussing and somehow mere till next day.
560  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Don't relax using the exchange on: February 27, 2024, 10:09:41 AM
it's good advise for people like us, I have a Blue wallet that I have kept to hold in there than leave my coin on any of the exchange especially binance that has publicly agreed to work with Nigerian government, and that I see as a threat to Nigerians in the crypto space. if further pressure is being put to reduce exchange rate in crypto I guess binance might be shutting us out so it never to lean your back on them.

I saw this post by a Nigerian who was celebrating his holding profit and he had a 0.1 BTC or ETH on an exchange, binance in particular. I almost freak out, even with lots of advise here in the forum someone is still not keeping up with the correction, I just hope they don't loss what they struggled for.
