what option i must put at padrino firmware for have it 900 gh hashing speed?

for nov. unit? 0.000 for volts and 0x335 for the oc...make sure you have extra cooling as the vrms will get hot

+1 yep that is what i'm doing with my jups...cept i'm not ever gona sell'em...they will mine til they give out to try and get as much coins from them as i can...

Im guessing free power?

nope...just wanna mine Smiley

It's called The Tragedy of the Commons.  A seminal paper was written in Science in 1968 by Garrett Hardin.  It happens with fishing, timber, open range grazing, and now bitcoin mining.

You are a peer to all the other miners.  To everyone else, you are one of the greedy others who is stealing their profits.

I don't know of anyone who has purchased mining equipment after the Batch #2 Avalons who has achieved breakeven, even though everyone has made ROI, whatever their own ROI number is.

well you don't know me but my knc jup has ROI'd Smiley and that was bought 2nd hand for around 25.4btc Smiley and the 2nd jup. i bought a cpl months ago is about to ROI too...but my 3rd nov jup i lost track on when it'll ROI if it will...but i'll just keep a mining Smiley

It's great to hear that you have made breakeven.  I looked at some Avalon modules today, and they are selling for almost 2X the expected return.  I don't know a way to buy more mining hardware and make money today.  I turned my Avalons off the first week in June.

well i've made profit off it now...nuff to buy more hw and the vicious cycle continues...buying 2nd hand is bout the only way to actually make money and even then you need to find a good deal which there isn't very many...like i bought 2 gridseeds for 30 bucks cause the guy thought they were broken...1 was fine other was broken as he said but taking off heatsink n moving black fan wire fixed it...think it was grounding something out...so that too ROI'd for me Cheesy just gotta wait patiently for the good deals to roll around...but if you count my being scamed then i haven't ROI'd as i lost 21 coins Sad

oh well i'm having fun and enjoy playing around with the mining hw i get Smiley

I have a 1000 watt Cougar CMX powering one cube and the controller, an Aurum AU-1000PRO powering one cube, two Cooler Master 725's each powering one cube, and a Cooler Master ZPG-1200B powering one cube. That is, five power supplies currently to power the five cubes plus one controller. Because one ZPG-1200B died trying to power three cubes and the other didn't seem to really suffice for two cubes (both fresh out of the box new from Newegg).

Network should not be a problem as I have a backup pool configured and both pools use stratum so even though I have more hash power the pools should simply adjust the share-difficulty to keep the net usage much the same. All cables seem fine. Besides if they were not they'd all have to be equally unfine wouldn't they since there seem to be no problem cubes just a general overall unexpectedly low hash rate for the whole kit and kaboodle.

-MarkM-

well then its either the psu's or the asics themselves...really no reason why you shouldn't be hashing at 3th/s right now...another guy on IRC is having troubles too...and he said with every restart it seems to be getting worse...good luck to ya man...maybe you can hook one unit up to controller and power it with the cougar 1k w psu and see how it hashes and just go at it one by one and see if you have a problem asic that is causing problems with the rest of'em...have no clue just trying to help
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 29, 2014, 10:50:35 PM
I don't know how to post images, I am familiar with pastebin sites but not sure how people paste pictures.

The page shows wattages usually 265 to 297 or so, but flicks to tiny numbers like 3 or 9 watts from time to time for moments too.

Temperatures of dies in one ASIC range from 77 through 93 degrees. Possibly it is throttling a lot due to temperatures or something like that.

Actually just saw one have a range of 74 through 95.

It doesn't seem to be throttling the 95 either so maybe throttling due to temperature is not what is going on.

-MarkM-

think its your psu's...what kind are they? what watts? what pool ya using? you sure you have stable net to controller board? sounds like its going to idle cause either it is losing net or pool isn't sending work or i heard on IRC the BBB isn't the best...think its the black version and has problems...idk I looked back at elen pics of stock unit adv. tab and it showed 280w per asic or so...

just saw yer post...ya i'd look at psu or pool or controller board...do you have all the cables seated right as well?

Man where ever i ask they say grindseed is not profitable anymore . IS it  ?
What coin do u mine with them ? I can get couple for 50$ each . Is it worth it ?

Its a gamble.. maybe it is, maybe its not.

yer right it is a gamble...but i'd say its a really bad gamble...everything is exploding now with asic's...really nuffin ya can do cept buy coins...

As I see it, theres two options... You just mentioned the best one - and the one that'll get you in for whatever amount of money you have at your disposal..

The 2nd one is for the guys with a lot of cash. Buy in hard in asics with the best $/ghs ratio and/or w/ghs ratio. With a perdicted ROI date (if you can get gear at a price that gives you one) and make as much coin in profits as possible afterwards.. - then, offload your gear when its not viable at your power costs anymore.. maybe, somewhere in the world it is for someone whos willing to bet on coins gaining value..

+1 yep that is what i'm doing with my jups...cept i'm not ever gona sell'em...they will mine til they give out to try and get as much coins from them as i can...

I really hope something bad happens to the greedy people  who are forcing  small scale users like me out Sad

Let me get this straight. You're adding mining capacity to your farm AND you're complaining because other "greedy people" are doing the same?!

Pot calling the kettle black, I guess.

I was referring to the people  with 100's of Th. +

Not the ones with a few.

It is those who are hurting  the difficulty - adding masses of machines.

In the long term, they do hurt the little people like me and others who make a little and are not greedy.

So it is not exactly  a Pot calling a Kettle , and yes I want to earn - as we all do.

Personally I have almost 1 ( 5 x S1 miners ) - and waiting for ROI still.

This damned hangover is still hurting LOL , and I don't want sympathy as it
was self inflicted - suppose last night was a scream and makes it worth it Cheesy

How do you get these "Neptune" things to go up past one terrahash consistently?

After putting overkill amounts of power supplies, now up to a total of four power supplies to power the five cubes plus controller, all five cubes now look about the same, that is, no indication that any particular cube has problems, although the interface does not show how many hashes each cube is getting. They all have about the same voltages, currents, and watts. The grand total hashing shown by the little LCD screen ranges from 750 gigahashes up to sometimes as much as 1.2 terrahashes.

Frequencies and voltages are at factory defaults. I have tried RC6, RC8 and RC9 firmwares.

This is basically as good as it gets using factory settings, so what the heck are people doing to get two or three terrahashes out of these things?

The power supplies thing was because even using 1200 watt supplies many were not able to run two cubes well. I had a couple of coolmax ZPG-1200B for example one of which seems to have given up the ghost completely after trying to power three cubes the other pretended to power two cubes but one of the two always sat at 3 to 9 watts total power usage. So I now have that one powering just one cube and a coolermaster EX2 725 powering the other cube. I had another EX2 725 powering another cube but has not really wanted to use this second one to power the cube that the ZPG-1200B wasn't seeming to work well for because previously when I had been using both EX2 725's to power one cube each one of them had turned itself off, presumably indicating that either that PSU or whichever cube it had been powering when it turned itself off was somehow peaking or something enough to have 725 watts borderline even for just a single cube...

-MarkM-

wonder if all yer cubes are running on half power...cause 1.2th/s is alittle under half the 3th/s...show us yer advanced page...maybe your psu's can handle it? or knc crappy units

I have removed the Neptune aluminum plate. Now I can see the Ericsson VRM's..... this is bad: they are the BMR4641002 (max 40A) instead of the BMR4641008 (max 50A).   Sad ...... no OC possible !

The 1002 has a OverCurrentProtection of 48A and looking to my Advanced-page: nearly all the VRMs are already around 46-47A (and this is KnC's default setting).
They should have used the 1008 instead, which has 50A and an OCP of 62A.

Can't we just desolder the 1002 and remove them to be replaced by soldering some 1008s in their place?  Doesn't that mod seem like a good solution?  What do you think?

if you can surface mount then go for it...but that would add alotta cost onto the unit...and also why stop at the 50a model...why not go higher if yer gona do it? hehe more room for oc'in Cheesy

You have no choice but to stop at the 50A module - that's the end of the BMR464 line.

well that sucks Sad and it would have to depend on the 50a model having the same layout as the 40a model wouldn't it? i don't see why they would be different but ya never know Smiley

Is there some payout system with Eligius? Do they pay out once in 24 hours, or how do they handle this. Before i had to write a ticket to get 2.4 BTC, and now they are again cumulated 2.8 BTC. I am doing something wrong?

Usually, your miner has a BTC address for the account name.  The shares are credited to this account, and you can view them on the web.  They pay out at a default threshold.  It is all automatic, and the default are reasonable.  The threshold is something like 0.04 BTC at the moment.

If you publish your payout address, anyone can look at the statistics and see if anything seems odd.

Yes i know this, my threshold is set on 0.04 but unlike other pools, this one again don't pay out. My question was if some one does know in which intervals the threshold is being paid out. Every 24 hours, every 2 days or every 3 days. Any one got any ideea?

look on your page...you'll see something like "164.76965403 BTC are ahead in queue, putting this user's payout after a 6 block delay." this is mine...so in 6 blocks i'll get a payout...it is on the right hand side...near the middle

if you did what elen did then yes warrenty gone..but taking off yeller sticker n putting yer own heatsink on it...something that can be made back to original shouldn't void yer warrenty i don't think Smiley upto you

Is it possible to peal of the yellow sticker from the VRMs ?
Is it safe the put aluminum or cooper heatsinks directly on the VRMs with only thermal paste (link) and not thermal adhesive pads (link) ? As VRMs convert electricity and heatsinks are electrical conductors.

Yes. I pealed the yellow sticker from the VRM, and put the heatsink on top.  See pictures in next posts....

is it even necessary to peal the yellow stickers off?

on neppy probably...on nov...not so much as they don't heat up as bad as neppys do

still wondering if those vrms are holding out? now that we know they are the 40a model...and already over that plus high heat...wonder how long these babies will last? you can already start to see the flood of neppies on fleabay and a few on here...i wonder if knc are even selling any from their 3rd batch?
559  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Anyone interested in KNC Neptune 3TH? Escrow ID Confirmed - GOT ON HAND! on: June 29, 2014, 04:02:53 AM
Hi

How do you hook all this up?
and what watts does it run?
Do you need a separate PSU?

Connect each box to the included controller with the cables that are included.

It uses 1445W according to the KNCMiner status page

you will need 2 PSU. 1200W+ Each is recommended by KNCMiner

WTF, You pay top-dollar for this miner and you won't even get PSU included ??  Shocked

KNC doesn't ship it with a psu...so why would he throw psu's in with it? btw knc does this so they are not liable if you blow yer stuff up or start a fire...ahhh those crazy bastards Sad
